"Breaking The Barrier"
Pushing the limits?

Materials: aluminum roof flashing, glass marbles, hand painted fabric, orange optic fiber (weed whacker line) flourescent lights, wood.

Dimensions: 38" x 62"

Techniques: Mad woven aluminum strands (three layers) were drilled and sewn with orange weed trimmer line in the shape of the Bell X-1 rocket plane. This plane was the first to break the sound barrier.  Blue glass marbles are covering pierced holes at the intersection of the weave.

Is this a Quilt?
