History
SuBAMUH was founded in 1979 and incorporated in 1992. It received tax exemption status from the IRS in 1995 as a feminist education center.

A 100 year old farmhouse and 3 outbuildings were on the land at the time of purchase. Since that time, 3 additional dwellings and a guest cabin have been added.

Educational programs were began in 1984. Events in the early years included Ohio Women's Peace Walk Workshop, Older Women's Weekend, cooperative work days, women's music festival, Ohio Re-Evaluation Counseling Women's Workshop.
