3358 iv. William Henry TRIPP was born on 10 Apr 1844 in Norway, ME. ! He m. Lancaster NH 1 May 1869 Jeanette Greenlief, who was b. Whitefield NH 8 Jun 1844, dau of Bennett and Lucy (Bray) Greenlief. He was a carpenter and shoemaker, employed by Thompson Mfgr in charge of wooden cog side of business. He enlisted Oct 1861 in Co. H. 4th ME Vol. and transferred to 19th Company , a sergeant and later Lieut. and acting A.D,C. on staff of Brigade Commander. he was wounded in the face at Battle of Wilderness and brevetted Captain at the close of the war. He was a member of K of P and GAR. Res. Lancaster NH. No issue. (Randall, Joseph Tripp 37,74).
3359 v. Oscar Holmes TRIPP was born on 10 Jan 1852. ! He was a surveyor in 1872 and a Civil Engineer. He was admitted to practice law in Apr 1872.
