He testified that on 15 Dec 1864 near Savannah GA, he "with his Regiment were on the march and while he was crossing a swamp on a log when he was accidently pushed off the log into the quick sand and when he was drawn out by comrades they severely injured the small of his back. It has pained him...ever since." He was discharged at Bladensburg MD on 9 June 1865. He had lived at Milbourne NY and Conklin NY at time of enlistment. He died of uremia, age 68-10-14. He was married to Fannie Saviah ALDEN on 13 Aug 1868 in Windsor, NY. Fannie Saviah ALDEN was born on 2 Jan 1851 in Windsor, NY. She died on 2 Jul 1925.
