He was married to Lydia -----. Lydia ----- died before 1717 in Dartmouth, Bristol, MA. She was born. She was christened. She was buried. ! Barth suggests that a clue to her name might be found among the children of James Jr. and Anna Cook. Their fourth child was named Almy. The only other possible Almy connection would be that Anna Cook's Aunt Deborah married a William Almy. Another possibility suggested by Baldwin is that Mercy and Lydia are the same person, since no records have been found on Lydia except for the births of the children. This is perhaps strengthened by the fact that IGI RI and Ghastin give her name as Tripp. (IGI RI; Ghastin, Tripp Gen. 35; James Baldwin, 2597 Hampshire, #25, Cleve- land Heights OH 44106; Randall, James Tripp 7; Barbara Barth, 70 Canaan Valley Cross Road, Southfield MA 01259; Dartmouth VR, 2:510 [d]).
