He moved to Rutland co., VT along with his brother Palmer's family (Petitions for Grants of Land 1778-1811, VT, State Papers of Vermont 5:295-6). He was granted land in Clarendon VT 17 Oct 1781 (General Petitions 1770-1787, VT). Abiel was in Clarendon 13 Oct 1786 (8:253-4). He and his family moved to Schroon Lake, Essex co., NY where his first wife died. He later relocated to Royalton Ny between 1810-1820 (RTripp).
