FIFTH GENERATION

108. Israel TRIPP was born on 22 Mar 1716 in Dartmouth, Bristol County, Massachusetts. He died on 20 Aug 1780 in Warwick, Kent County, Rhode Island. He was christened. References: Randall, James manuscript from the New Bedford Library; Breffni Whelan, decendant who specializes on daughters and their offspring; Bock: An inventory was taken September 26, 1778 for Elizabeth Tripp, widow and administratrix, recorded at Warwick June 15, 1779 (Warwick Wills 3:425). Valentine (168) wrote that it is very difficult to differentiate Richard's son Israel from James son and suggested that the line described here and in Randall's book is really the line of Richard. The confusion seems to center around the sons Israel and John, whose placement was "Probable" to Randall, but who is called son of James in MA IGI. In 1777, Israel of Warwick was 60 years +. (Dartmouth VR 1:281 [b]; Arnold 1:121 [m]; Randall, James Tripp 7,10; 1777 Military Census from Rhode Island ROOTS; MA IGI [b]; Valentine, 168).
