TENTH GENERATION

9447. Mary Francis TRIPP was born on 2 Sep 1836 in Tyre, Seneca County, New York. She died on 8 Aug 1907 in Union City, Branch County, Michigan. She was buried on 10 Aug 1907 in Riverside Cem., Union City, Branch County, Michigan. She was christened. !1)Her birth date given as 2 sep 1837, from her obituary, while an earlier family document gives 2 sep 1836. I let it remain the latter. 2)From Mich pub#1961, per PLT ARCHIVES V18, Marriages 1827-1857, Washtenaw Com Mich: Albert Winings, 24, married Louisa Tripp, on 31 Dec 1856. Witness: H. Tripp. It fits very well, except: (1)"Louisa" is not "Mary Francis"; otherwise Mary Francis' brother Henry could have been the witness.

She was married to Albert Cobb WINANS on 31 Dec 1855 in Ann Arbor, Washtenaw, Mich. Albert Cobb WINANS was born on 5 Oct 1831 in Tyre, Seneca County, New York. He died on 8 Dec 1873 in Burlington, Calhoun County, Michigan. He was christened. He was buried in Riverside Cem., Union City, Branch County, Michigan. NOTE: Chas Quick, 3rd cousin, gave me parentage of #339 Albert Winans, consisting of father Aaron Winans(1798), Lewis Winans(1750), Lewis Winans(1718), John Winans(1673), and John Winans(1640), EACH with his complete family. I have decided NOT to put these 5 family groups on the computer at this time because they are not my ancesters, and the Ira C. Winans Collection, where the data was obtained, likely has had someone else process the names in the Temple. The sheets are in my research notes. Marriage notice, Ann Arbor Journal, 7 Jan 1856. Md by Rev L.D. Chapin. !1)Sources: Ira C. Winans Collection, Rochester, NY Pub Library. (this is converted to computer by Alice, of california, some 500+ pages, copy in possession Chas Quick). Census, 1860, 1870, Calhoun Co Mich. Death cert A C Winans, M F Tripp; news clippings. Selected records from Charles Quick, now in PLT ARCHIVES, V21. 2)There is a cemetery record in PLT ARCHIVES, V15, from the Marion Stevenson collection, that shows Emmeline Winans, 1840-1888 and John Winans (presumable her husband), 1831-1900. I find such John is not a brother to this Albert, from the family group given me by Charles Quick. So, who is John? Mary Francis TRIPP and Albert Cobb WINANS had the following children:
