Physical Disabilities (result of prenatal Soltoxin poisoning)

• hunchback
• short with too large head
• brittle bones
• spastic tics

Due to the prenatal poisoning, Miles has a smaller than normal body with a normal-sized head. He is also hunchbacked, although when he is killed on a covert rescue mission, some of this is fixed. Most of the brittle bones are eventually fixed through replacement with synthetic bones. (Isn't Science Fiction fun?!) However, bone replacement couldn't be done until he was an adult, so his childhood is filled with painful breaks. He wears metal braces on his legs until he has the leg bones replaced at the age of twenty-three.

One of Miles other distinguishing characteristics is a nervous tic where he jerks his head up. It particularly is evident when he is under extreme stress. He hates the tic because he feels that it makes him look stupid.

Unfortunately for Miles, there is no law which will help him out. In the United States there was a law passed called the Americans with Disabilities Act. It provides protection for people with all types of handicaps (not just physical ones) and makes sure that they have access to public buildings and jobs (to name a couple of things).
