HOPE

Hope is the seed planted in our hearts
That must be watered again and again.
For if it dies, we join the ranks
Of sad and desperate men.

Hope keeps us from giving up.
It bolsters our mind and soul.
In matters of the heart, it seems
Hope plays a critical role.

Without it, what is left for us
But to live out the present day,
Not considering that tomorrow
May be better in some small way.

This is a gift God has given us,
More precious than gemstone or flower.
For hope gives direction to our days,
Bringing light to our darkest hour

If the present is filled with pain and loss,
Hope will bring strength to our life,
And carry us high above the storm,
To give vision beyond our strife.

Yes, hope is the seed planted in our hearts,
To be nurtured with love and care.
It lifts our sights beyond today
So the burdens of life, we may bear.
