In
indigenous cultures that practice shamanism, divination is a
regular part of most shamans' lives. Every culture has its own favored
methods (the Buryat, for instance, like many Siberian and Mongolian
peoples, cast sheep knuckle bones). An almost universal method of
divining for information is the shamanic journey. Bekki and Crow
frequently journey for information on their clients' behalf, often (but
not always) as part of shamanic healing work.
The
method for shamanic divining of this nature is to create sacred space
before entering a light trance state. Bekki or Crow then journey to
meet with their shamanic allies and ask for information on the client's
behalf.
"Hi, Crow,
Thank you so much for
doing the journeywork for me! I feel so much better; such a weight has
lifted. It's so much easier to go about daily life now."
