"An
awareness of natural rhythm is not confined to African miners or
Chinese geomancers. It
is part of our birthright. A gift from Mother. With one
ear to the ground, you can almost hear her great
heart beating. It is a very comforting sound."
Lyall Watson, The
Dreams of Dragons, p.96
Geomancy,
the first earth science, was practiced in ancient Europe and the Far
East. It
survives today in Western ley-line and dowsing work,
and is
actively practiced throughout the Orient. If we
attune our nature to the Mother's by sensing her energies, we can
adjust our occupation of each place to integrate
most
smoothly, happily and productively with those energies. Crow's Introductory
Workshops in Chinese Intuitive
Feng Shui demonstrate
and teach principles and practices to improve where you live, work
and play.
Crow
had the great pleasure of spending two years (in the
1960's) in
Taiwan doing anthropological fieldwork. During the 60's and
70's he traveled widely in the Orient including
Macao, the Ryuku
Islands, two visits to Japan, one to mainland China, and many weeks
spent in Hong Kong. He remains deeply fascinated by things Oriental.
That was Crow's first exposure to Feng Shui,
the Chinese
system coordinating human and earth energies. It amazed him
to
discover the constant use of this first earth science in Hong
Kong,
Taiwan, China and Japan. Concepts,
principles and weekly examples of practical
Feng
Shui filled many conversations and the popular press, though books in
English
were few.
Back
at the London School of Economics of London University, Crow was very
happy to
discover that Maurice Freedman, a leading scholar of the anthropology
of Hong
Kong, was teaching a course about Feng Shui. Furthermore, one of Crow's
fellow
graduate students returned from Viet Nam with a copy of a rare
treatise
about the science which had been published there in English. Crow was
quick to benefit from this unexpected wealth of
information.
Crow
continued to learn about Feng Shui in London and during his
travels. Conducting a photo-study of an old
graveyard
on the Ryuku Islands, he learned that the tombs and their layout had
been carefully
designed
along Feng Shui principles.
He has
practiced Feng Shui
since returning to the U.S. in 1970 in
Missouri, Salt Lake City, Chicago and Ohio. He
has taught Feng Shui at Dragon Waters,* the
Chicago College of Psychophysical Healing and the
Rosewood Art
Center (near Dayton, Ohio) and is available to teach at other
locations. He
teaches at introductory and practitioner levels.
*Dragon Waters, our home, is so named
due to its outstanding Feng Shui energies, including the Dragon Waters
which
flow past its south facing main entrance and wrap around the Dragon and
Tortoise
sides of the house.
Advance Registration is
required to attend all Church of Earth
Healing classes and workshops wherever they take place. See the Schedule for when and where
Feng Shui
teachings will next take place.
