Division: Archeophyta
This is a curious group of plants, fernlike in appearance, and considered ferns for many hundreds of years. However, the evidence is that their divergence from ferns is so ancient that they are no more related to true ferns than they are to flowering plants! I have placed them with the Psilopsida in the Archeophyta, because they appear to have an ancient affinity, different though they are today.
