TWO HISTORIC DATES WITH MANY YET TO
COME
Saturday, July 26 and Monday, August 25 will be days we remember at
least in the short haul. On a pleasant Saturday afternoon some 75 persons
gathered at the site of our new office/storage complex. Following a short
worship and consecration service those present walked to the new location (By architect Dick Gorman )
and took turns with shovels, post hole diggers and even a mattock. The
equipment was gathered from the JAM work camp shed. Rev. “Texas Jack” Jackson cooked up his famous barbecue and our secretary was able to secure an impressive cake including the drawings of the new building. Everyone sensed that it was a profound beginning.
and then….
Monday, August 25th early in the morning the dirt began to fly. Our footers and blocks will be done by Wellston contractor, John Jackson. John hopes to have his part of the project completed in 10-14 days. Weather and state inspections will play a determining factor.
CAMPAIGN PROGRESS REPORT – as of July we have just short of
$ 80,000 in the bank. It is our best estimates that between 15 and 20 thousand dollars still has to be raised.
CALLING ALL VOLUNTEERS…
It has been planned that in mid to late September we will need framers etc. to assemble and erect the walls.
Early October should see us doing insulation and dry walling
