Guess? Italy, 1989
with Carré Otis and Cameron

text from A Second Day of Guess?

I was 18 or 19 when I shot my first Guess? campaign. It was with Ellen Von Unwerth, and I think it was her first campaign with Guess? as well. The crew flew to a small seaside village in Italy, where we were able to capture the romance and glamour of that Italian movie star appeal. Everything from a roll of hay in a field to a deserted beach chair by the water's edge was up for grabs. When shooting with Ellen, all is fair game. There was one shot me of at lunch with my mouth full of pasta in a half grin that was used... it was all about the real moment, and we truly made our work our pleasure." - Carré Otis

"Outdoor cafes, chance meetings with strangers and romance in the Italian countryside. All the pleasures and adventures of an overseas vacation are found in this 1989 GUESS? campaign. Carré Otis and Cameron play the vacationing lovers in Ellen Von Unwerth's romantic black and white photographs."
