Images of women that are also created by women have something different about them, something unexpected and intriguing. When Ellen Von Unwerth turns her lens on her fellow women, she does so with enormous respect, and analyses, explores, and above all penetrates the female form, capturing the childlike wonder and almost innocent sex appeal of her subjects. Her work is like a theatre piece, where the actors are given free rein to interpret their roles but captivate us with the very naturalness of their sensuality.

German-born Ellen has looked at life from both sides of a camera lens. She started out as a photographer after a successful career as a model, and commissions from some of the world's best-known fashion magazines as well as campaigns for brands such as Guess, Volkswagen, Lancia, Rolex, Moët & Chandon, Diesel and Blumarine are testament to the esteem in which her talents are held. Her work has also been exhibited in galleries of international reknown and has appeared in publications all around the world.

On the subject of women, Ellen comments, "they are not just there to be admired, they are there to be enjoyed." And looking at her photos, we can only agree.

FLY ON THE WINGS OF GLAMOUR

Lavazza, Italy's favourite coffee, has unveiled the 14th edition of its annual calendar this year photographed by acclaimed fashion photographer Ellen Von Unwerth.

Mirroring the 'First Class Espresso Experience' that Lavazza delivers, Ellen has used her images to convey the luxury and exclusivity of travelling "First Class".

Evoking the atmosphere of a fantastic, yet exclusive journey the 2006 Lavazza calendar uses humour and irony to recall the glamorous times of the 1950s when luxurious first class air travel was in its heyday. The images depict the same sense of luxury, quality and exclusive service that is found in the star of the Lavazza calendar, espresso coffee.

Ellen Von Unwerth, the German photographer famous for her photography of women in the world's leading fashion magazines, has given the calendar the style and mood of a fashion editorial spread. She has concentrated on female sexuality in the images which takes the viewer on a fantastic journey through eight photos featuring beautiful, sensual, hostesses showcasing Lavazza coffee in a variety of situations -- from playful to seductive.

Only a limited number of copies of the Lavazza calendar are produced annually and go to those in the know across Europe. However, Lavazza UK has fifty spaces spare this year on its 'Lavazza list' for the first people to email: thelavazza2006list@lavazza-coffee.co.uk. The calendars will be dispatched by 10 January 2006.
