Open Burning
In Ohio, it is illegal to open burn solid waste of any kind. You will find the following laws in the Ohio Revised & Administrative Codes:
ORC 3734.03 - "No person shall dispose of solid wastes by open dumping or open burning."
OAC 3745-27-05(B) - "No pserson shall conduct, permit, or allow open burning of solid wastes except as permitted only as provided therein."
DID YOU KNOW? It is against the law, specifically OAC 3745-19-04(B)(3C), to openly burn anything within 1000 ft. of any residence. This includes EVERYTHING! (ex. leaves, branches, wood, trash, etc.....)
To make an open burning complaint, please contact the Ohio EPA or your local health department.
