Fran left the note on Mr.Sheffield's desk. Then she kissed Niles on the cheek while he was sleeping on the couch. She walked out the door and hailed a cab. She got to the pier and saw Nigel waiting for her. "I guess this means yes," said Nigel.

"Yeah," said Fran. They took each others hands and walked on to the ship.

Meanwhile Maxwell was just arriving home. He walked right into his office. When he entered, he immediately noticed the note and picked it up. The note read:

Dear Maxwell,

I'm sorry I couldn't say good-bye face to face, but you weren't here so I just left you this note. You are probably wondering why I'm saying good-bye. Well your brother proposed, and of course I said yes. So I'm going to live with him in London. Please say good-bye to the children and Niles for me. I love you.

I'll miss you always,
Fran

He was crushed. He had just lost the only woman he had ever loved since Sarah died, and he lost her to his brother. Well, he decided he wasn't going to lose her, especially to his brother. He decided to leave the next day to London.

Meanwhile, Fran and Nigel were just arriving in London. They got a cab and went to Nigel's place. When they arrived there, they unpacked a little and went to sleep. The next day Nigel had to go to work, which left Fran alone. At this point, Maxwell was arriving in London. After he got his luggage, he hailed a cab and went directly to Nigel's place. When he arrived, he took out a box from his suitcase and set it on the steps. Then he knocked on the door and hid. When Fran opened the door she saw no one there except a box. She picked it up and went inside. When inside, she opened the box and inside there was a note and a smaller, blue box. The note said:

Dear Fran,

I love you, and I'm sorry that I didn't tell you before, it's just that I was afraid of losing you. But now I know I can't live a day without you, so I want to ask you to marry me. Will you? If you will, then come outside, i'm waiting for you. I'll give you ten minutes.

I love you dearly,
Maxwell

Then she opened the blue box and there was a beautiful diamond ring. She wasn't sure what to say. She had already said yes to Nigel, but she loved Max more. She was confused. " What do I do? I love Maxwell, but I don't wanna hurt Nigel's feelings," she thought to herself.

Ten minutes had passed and Max thought she wasn't going to come out, so he started to leave. Then a couple of minutes later, Fran came out, but didn't see Max there. She looked up the street and saw a man. She ran towards him thinking it was Max. "Max, is that you?" asked Fran.

The man turned around and said," No."

"Well, have you seen a man that's kinda tall, he has black hair, and in his hair he has a gray streak?" asked Fran.

"Yes, he was going the other way," said the guy.

So Fran started to run the other way. Then she looked down another street and saw Max. "Max!" she yelled. He turned around and they both started to run towards each other. " Yes, I will marry you," said Fran as they both flew into each others arms. Then they kissed an ever so passionate kiss.

"I love you," said Max as they looked into their eyes.

"I love you too," said Fran. Then once again they had a passionate kiss.
