On a Saturday morning....
Fran Sheffield wakes up and stares at Max. Five years they have been married now and everyday she realises what a blessing it is: 5 children and a loving husband - although Max loves to work and according Fran he's always working too much. They have several differences but that is, according to her, the "extra" of their marriage. Max still gets some more grey streaks when something extreme happens. He has become used to rub his temples during the years and although her name is Sheffield now, at special occasions he's still calling her 'Miss Fine'. She is now 40 years old; the twins are already four and enjoying infant school. Emily the daughter of Niles and CC is also joining them.
She knows that Max thought 5 children were enough, but still... She wants to feel it once again... the feeling of a new life growing in her. Having a baby around the house again, feeling little feet in her tummy...
Max wakes up and rolls over to his wife and kisses her.
"Good morning my darling, how are you today?"
He doesn't wait for and answer and kisses her again.
"Mmm... do you smell delicious...?"
He looks at the alarm clock and sees that is only 7.00 o'clock in the morning. A more passionate kiss follows.
"Is our door locked?"
"Mmm .. yes. A little higher honey".
She snuggles against him and he kisses her shoulders.
"So we have one hour to do something before breakfast.."
Max and Fran take their time and make love. Still there is the passion that started several years ago. Still there is that special something called love...
Afterwards, Max and Fran are talking, snuggling and gazing at each other.
"Max, I have been thinking, I am 40 now (she told him her real age after the twins were born) and I want to feel it again."
"What darling?"
"Max I want to feel it again what it's like to be pregnant".
"What?" He gets out of the bed and takes his robe.
"Fran, we are not getting any younger, and I am not sure if I want to have any more children. Besides, they last time when we were starting to get pregnant, it was not easy, remember?"
"But Maaaxx".
He bends over and looks into her eyes then he sits on the bed.
"Fran, Jonah and Eve are already a blessing and 6 children ... although 6, it could be also 7. With us never know what to expect. Just give me some time ok? I do not say no".
He kisses her lightly on the nose, hair and mouth. He smiles, deep in his heart he already knows what his answer will be.
"But, Maaax... I am not getting any younger."
"Neither do I darling, but I want to think about it, give me some time... and that is the end of our discussion".
He kisses her again and again (He knows that is the only way she will keep her mouth closed). Answering his kisses she mumbles "Ok, Maxwell Sheffield, I will give you some time, but within some time we will re-open this discussion, believe me".
"I have no doubts about that, darling, but shall we take a shower together?"
"Oh, Mr. Sheffield you are making me blush" is all she can reply. So they do.
Meanwhile Niles is preparing breakfast together with the help of a junior butler called Jack.
The people of the Sheffield residence -although now it should be called Sheffield/Butler residence- have become one big family. When they had moved to New York again, Fran and Max had asked Niles and CC and their daughter to live with them permanently. CC and Fran redecorated the house together and changed some parts of it. The office has now two large desks and a big library, Niles and CC have their own rooms and Niles became head of the housekeeping staff and has his "office" in the kitchen and of course he has his high-tech intercom. They also hired a cleaning lady and some extra limo-drivers, which are supervised by him.
Brighton is studying economics and theatre at the Colombia University and is coming to the house every weekend and also when he has some time off. He loves to play with the youngest Sheffield's. Michael and Maggie live close by in their own apartment. They are both busy finishing university, Maggie is studying communication and Michael is following acting classes and works as a model. Grace - in Fran's eyes still the youngest one - has almost finished high school and intends to study at the Colombia University. She would love to do something with children and psychology.
The twins are little thunders according to Max. Both have Fran's pizzazz and the interest for the theatre from Max. They love to go to their father's shows. They are in their looks a real mix of the Sheffield's and Fines. Both have the hair of Fran and the olive-green eyes of Max. According to Max the Fine inheritance is stronger than the Sheffield's but the theatre part is definitely his.
Emily, the daughter of Niles and CC, has the beautiful looks of her mother but wants to be with her dad and twins all the time. She likes helping her father. According to CC, she will become a businesswoman once or the only woman who is a butler and be proud of it.
That morning Niles dressed the twins and Emily, who are already having breakfast, when Fan and Max enter the room.
"Good morning everyone" and they sit at the table.
"Jacks, tea!" Max takes his newspaper and starts to read it.
"Honey before you are putting your head into your newspaper, you know that CC and I are going shopping and that you and Niles promised to take care of the kids?"
At that moment a familiar "Hello, hello" is coming for the hall. CC walks in the dining room and kisses her husband and Emily. Max is looking at his wife and CC and then nods.
"I almost forgot that we promised that, but we already have made plans for today haven't we?"
He is looking around the table.
"Gracie, Brighton, you are welcome to join us if you like. We are going to the zoo"
"Almost similar to Loehmanns" adds Niles.
"You will find there are animals too". He smiles innocently at his wife.
CC looks at him. "Probably you can dust also there bellboy" and continues with her breakfast.
The twins and Emily start singing: "We are going to the zoo, and we are looking forward too". Brighton adds: "It will be great, dad, they have fabulous hotdogs at the zoo!"
"Mom, if you don't mind I would like to join Dad and Niles it has been ages ago that I have been in the zoo! I would love to make some pictures." Gracie looks at Fran.
"No problem honey. Enjoy your time. Now I am sure your father will behave himself".
Max is finishing his breakfast.
"I suppose what I need is a nanny and unfortunately, I married her" he mumbles.
"Max I heard you! I promise you, I will punish your later".
Max looks at her and then kisses her. "I can hardly wait".
"Max before you leave... can I have your credit card?"
Max gives her his credit card and replies "Darling please do me a favour, buy something else instead of tiger print?"
"Does it mean that I cannot buy something special for my husband at Victoria's Secrets?" she says with an innocent smile, knowing how Max will reply.
"No, no, no, my darling that is a shop you really should go to. When you expect me to work on a new production, I definitely need something from that store".
Fran replies (still smiling innocently): "So you've already made a decision?"
Max stands up. "No not yet, probably you can convince me later".
Max looks at Jack. "Jack, can you take our jackets? We are leaving right now and leave our two adorable ladies alone".
He kisses his wife. "Love you".
"Love you more. "
"Don't do anything I would do"
"Well you never buy skirts honey, but I will. Although a kilt should be interesting...Eve and Jonah give mommy a kiss, would you be nice to and listen to the older ones?"
Eve and Jonah kiss their mommy and say: "We will try, mommy!"
Fran says: "Don't do anything I wouldn't have done"
Max says: "Yes, then we would be in trouble"
"Maxwell! I heard you!"
"Now dustbin, give me a last kiss before you leave' and behave yourself like I do".
Niles kisses his wife and replies with: "Yes you will behave yourself and not driving the salesmen crazy. Brunette, we will re-open our discussion later" and the kids and men leave.
CC: "Yeah, yeah, blah, blah".
"Bye, everyone" the ladies are greeting everyone and off they go.
The ladies of the residence are left alone together with Jack, who is serving and cleaning the table. During the years they have become close friends. How could they no be? After all they both have English husbands, work and live in the same house. They also have and share kids together.
"What is the discussion you and Max have about?" "What is left in the open between you and Niles?" both ladies start talking at the same time.
"Well, after Emily, I would like to have another baby. Niles thinks he is too old for that and getting pregnant is also not easy".
"Well that is a coincidence. I also want to get pregnant again, but Max is not sure. I can't blame him. My first time wasn't that easy.... But still.." is Fran's reply.
CC: "Well that would be great, being pregnant together and sharing it! But how will we convince our men"
"Treat them, no that is not nice, with no bing bing?" Fran looks at CC. Then both shake their heads.
"No, that is to difficult, but what if we buy something very special at Victoria's Secrets and convince them?" Both agree.
"Let's go shopping first and then make plans how to convince our men. Probably Victoria's Secrets has the perfect solution and if we don't get pregnant within some months Mr. Whu will be on option. But first: Victoria's Secrets". When Fran is saying that she has a vision about Max.
"Yes that could be an option" is CC's reply. She's also got that special dreamy smile on her face. Niles and Victoria's Secrets - he is really fond of that store.
Meanwhile the kids, Grace, Max and Niles are in the zoo. While the "boys" are sitting on a terrace with a nice beer, Brighton and Grace take the twins and Emily to look at the animals and taking pictures of the little ones, each other and the animals.
Nipping on his glass Niles looks at Max. " What was that discussions between you and Fran regarding?"
"Although you are married, you still are a yenta, aren't you?" says Max.
But before Niles can reply, Max is talking again.
"I think that you already know it. You are always listing in on the intercom. But what is that between you and CC?"
Both men start talking about the same time. "She wants to be pregnant again!"
"What??" and they start laughing.
"I like the 'practising' with Fran, I should have started it years ago. She wants to be pregnant again and I am not sure, I want it again, again diapers, again crying, again a moody wife and: What will happen if she won't get pregnant? She is already 40 although she still looks like 29. For bloody sake we have 5 children already."
"Sir, I agree with you completely. Again a moody CC, again diapers, I have got your children, our daughter and your twins and I am also having doubts about my age" says Niles.
"Me too, Niles, me too".
Max takes his beer. "We forgot one problem, Niles. When our ladies want something, they will get it. I know that part for sure. I think I'll give it a try, otherwise she will treat me with something, something awful like no sex and no romance."
"It is the same With CC, Max: hard to live with, but she indeed also can treat me bad" says Niles.
"I suppose we have no choice man, let's keep them in uncertainty for some time and book the Rainbow Room this evening, or no - let's book a romantic weekend with our ladies. But first of all: I would like to a toast on "practising" and to the new Sheffield's and Butlers". And so they decide.
The ladies went shopping and before they arrived at Victoria Secrets plans have been made. They decided to ask Silvia and Morty to watch their children for tonight, so that they can convince their hubbies.
"What do you think of this, CC?" Fran is holding a black teddy in her hands while CC has the same only in white.
"Isn't that strange? Years ago I found you taste awful, but now I have to agree with you, it is beautiful. Niles will be surprised and hopefully convinced when I treat him with not having sex. This time I want a little Butler and born with a duster" giggles CC.
"Yeah I want a little son again, but this time with his father's grey streak and adorable English accent" Fran replies.
The ladies buy toys and clothes for the children and Fran is buys a tiger print robe for Max thinking: 'Then I really can call him my 'tiger' and try to produce a little 'tiger' again.
"Ma, would you listen to me? Max and I had a discussion" she tells her mother on the phone.
"What are you doing to my favourite son-in-law, why are you always fighting with your husband?"
"Ma, listen, this is serious. Can you and daddy take care of all the kids this evening because CC and I are planning to convince our men to have some more grandchildren".
"Darling that's wonderful news! Hope you will make it sooner than you did the last time and in that case daddy and I are available. We will come around 5 o'clock. Can you arrange Jack to make something special for us? And Frannie, some tickets for Max's new show...".
"Thanks a lot ma, got a go now, have to call Max! See ya later."
CC calls Niles. "Niles, Fran and I decided that we will take you and Max to the Rainbow room. We have reservations for 7 o'clock. I suppose you will be home with the kids at 5?"
"Just one sec, I will ask Max. Max, our ladies have made reservations at The Rainbow Room. Do you agree?"
Max, nods and whispers: "I'll call Sylvia and make arrangements for the whole weekend instead. We will make plans later".
Niles replies to CC: "Yes, my ice queen, that is ok by Max and me and by the way: I love you" and he hangs up to before CC can reply.
"Arranged?"
"Yes, they agreed immediately... Do you think that they've made a decision yet?"
"Well, knowing our men, I am not so sure about that, take for example how much time it had taken them to make their commitments - although with you and Niles it was different" is the reply of Fran.
"Yeah different, but similar. Probably that is the British part of our men, not telling how they feel". The ladies continue shopping.
Meanwhile Max is calling Sylvia and Niles is phoning Jack.
Max:" Sylvia, you are my favourite and only mother-in-law, can you do me a favour? Can you and Morty take care of the kids and Emily during this weekend and not only this evening"
"Well, it depends... can I have more grandchildren from you and Niles? (She and Morty "adopted" Niles, CC and their daughter), tickets for your new show and a dinner would be nice also. You know how it is with the kids, they love the theatre"
"Sylvia, Niles and I've made already a decision about that. We decided to co-operate. It will be a surprise for Fran and CC, so please do not blab. To be honest I hope it not be disappointing for them when we will not succeed within a year".
"Well, we will take care of the kids and pack your bags. It is our pleasure. And Max, you will succeed. Bubby Sophie told me. I have to finish this call because we really have to take care of something important, before we'll go to the mansion."
"What is so important that you need to do?"
"Lunch" and with that they end their call.
At the same time Niles is calling the residence: "Jack, prepare the limo with champagne for this evening. Sylvia and Morty come over to pack some suitcases this afternoon. Put them in the limo, will you? Silvia and Morty will take care of the children during the weekend. Can you also make reservations for 2 nights in the honeymoon suits of the Waldorf Astoria? Yes, yes, yes, you need to buy more food especially shrimp, lobster and marshmallows when Sylvia is coming! Yes, man you have to get used to it. Yes and she may use our Jacuzzi.... Stop complaining man, Sylvia and Morty are the good part of our family in law; you've never met CC or Max's parents! They are worse. Fine - you understand. Bye Jack" and with that Niles ends the call.
Max says: "Niles, is everything arranged?"
Niles nods. "Let's see where the children are".
Both men stand up and go looking for the children.
"There you are, what have you seen?"
They all started talking at the same time.
"Children, children, be quiet!"
Jonah starts with; Daddy, daddy I have seen big animals, snakes, eagles and birds, and, and, and...!"
Max looks at Grace. She says: "Yes, dad they behaved themselves and we have seen all the animals. Thanks for taking us here"
"Daddy, I am tired, can you carry me please".
Max takes his little girl and kisses her head. "Mmm, you smell like mommy".
He takes Jonah's hand and calls the limo. Let's go to the mansion children. Let's meet grandma and grandpa.
Jonah, who is fond of Morty, is jumping while he is holding Max's hand.
"That's great daddy! Grandpa loves to play with my toys".
Niles who has taken Emily in his arms says: "Sylvia and Morty will take care of you all this weekend, we have business to take care of.
Max is calling Fran at that moment: "Fran, darling is it you?"
Her nasal voice laugh is heard over the phone. "Hello darling, I just bought some fabulous stuff".
Max already has a picture of what that could be in his head.
"Fran, we need to do business during this weekend and I need my wife and business partner, so I asked Sylvia to take care of the kids and pack our suitcases".
"Daddy, can I talk to mummy, please?" Eve is pointing at Max's mobile.
"Just one sec, Fran, Eve would like to talk to you, but you will be ready 'till seven, ok?
"Ok honey, I think I will be ready, but then we'll have to finish shopping right now and we have to run to Bergdorff's to buy that beautiful gown we saw, love you"
"Love you too, darling. Here comes Eve."
"Hello Evy, have you been nice to Jonah?"
"Mummy we saw tigers and snakes and Grace took pictures, we had so much fun".
"Oh, sweetie, that is so great, and you didn't tease Jonah? That is my girl".
"Can I talk to daddy once again? Bye sweetie!".
"Honey, before you start shouting when you see your new robe: it's in tiger print..."
"What, I don not want to wear that!"
"Honey, it'll be beautiful, you'll be such a turn on..."
CC is looking very strangely at Fran.
Fran whispers to her. "Just told Max about his new robe".
CC, grins and whispers back. "I do not tell Niles these things, he just has to put it on. Otherwise: no sex".
"Fran, is that CC mumbling in your ear?".
"Yes and she pointed something very important out to me." Honey, be glad, I didn't buy the matching underwear - although...".
"Yes, yes, do not rush, I suppose I have no choice and I am not sure Brighton will like it".
"No, you'll have to wear it Mr. big producer and otherwise, I'll follow CC's advice.."
"Fine! I'll have to live with that".
"It is 'Sheffield', honey, for already several years now, and you have to live with me and put on a tiger print robe, bye sweetie..."
"I am looking forward the last that part, yes, I certainly do", he replies.
"See ya later honey, I will see if I can find a nice suit and tie for you ".
"By darling."
'Maxwell Sheffield, behave yourself!' he thinks by himself. 'She is such a turn on' and he is wondering, what she might have bought at Victoria's. He shakes his head and he is still wondering, why he had waited 5 long years to make her his wife.
CC asks Fran what was up and Fran explains
"Ohh, my God, we have to hurry! Foolish men! And that he is telling us only now?" Well, they certainly will have to pay for that".
"Yeah, with moody pregnant wives." Fran grins.
They run off to Bergdorff's and buy some beautiful gowns they saw earlier that day.
Fran and CC go back to the mansion and so do the men. Meanwhile Sylvia and Morty are packing suitcases for the couples and as always they are arguing.
"Morty, don't lose you hair. I am sure Brighton will tape the Islanders!"
While they are busy, a familiar comes from the hall. Fran and CC enter the mansion.
"Hello, anybody home yet? Max, Niles?"
"Frannie is that you?"
"Hi, ma!"
"Hello, Morty and Sylvia. It's nice to see you again. Thanks a lot for taking care of the children" is CC's hello.
"Ma have you already spoken with Max or Niles?"
"You didn't hear it from me, but I have fabulous news. But when they tell you, you do not now anything".
The faces of CC and Fran are white when they both ask: "AND???"
"Mazel tov, darlings, I will get more grandchildren".
Hugs and kisses everywhere.
"But is still a secret. You do not have a business meeting this weekend, but a nice and romantic weekend with your hubbies".
"Ohh, ma, you are such a doll".
"Sylvia, you are a blessing" is the reply of CC.
"Quick, we still have to change and take care of the things we bought".
Both ladies run upstairs with bags and other stuff.
One hour later the limo with the children and men arrives at their home.
"We are home".
"Max is that you?"
"Fran, CC, we are home!"
Fran walks down stairs.
"Oh there you are!"
She looks questionably at Max and says: "Has daddy already told you that grandma and grandpa are taking care of you this weekend?" At the same time she looks at Brighton and Grace. "You do not mind either, do you?"
They nod. "Mom, we'll have fun with Morty and Sylvia. We suppose they would like to go to the new show of dad".
Jonah, Eve are shouting: "Really? Wow, that would be great!"
Jonah replies with: "I will once also be a big producer just like daddy".
"And I will be your beautiful business partner" replies Eve with a smile on her face. "Just like auntie CC."
"That are my children" Max sounds proud.
Meanwhile Emily is hugging Sylvia.
"Hello little one, did you have a good time at the zoo?"
"Eve and Jonah are laughing. "Grandma it was fun!"
Emily adds: "They had big snakes little birds, tigers and... "
"I suppose you all are be hungry, shall we go to find Jack?"
"Yes, I would like to have a nice piece of coffee-cake".
"Yes, Brighton, you definitely need that" Gracie answers.
CC is shouting from her room. "Niles, I need your help, come up here!"
Niles looks upstairs. "Another animal needs help".
"Niles be nice to your wife".
Max looks at Fran. "And when will you be ready?"
"Well, honey if you help me, within one hour. We probably can shower together?"
He kisses her. "Mmm, sounds interesting."
"Well let's go upstairs, shall we? I agreed with Niles that we would be ready at 6:30..."
A couple of hours later the Butlers and Sheffield's have started their nice and romantic weekend.
"Niles, shall we?" Max looks questionably at Niles. Niles nods. Both men stand up and take their glasses, while they are looking at their ladies.
"We would like to bring out a toast to the new Sheffield's and Butlers".
Both ladies shout (like they are very surprised): "You will?"
"Dustbin, this time I want a little duster or probably like Fran has, two of them".
Niles looks adorably at his wife and kisses her. "Are you sure about that, you know, it will not be easy and another little Sheffield.... I suppose we need a nanny in the future.."
"Yeah, but then we will hire a male nanny, just like my old boy-friend" grins Fran.
"Oh, Max, this is so sweet of you, but we already knew it. Ma told us."
Max looks surprisingly at her "What? Oh, never mind darling. But now we have the whole weekend to practice and I am curious what you bought in that special store for me."
Both couples practise a lot during that weekend and share their romance. They don't know it yet but 2 little Sheffield's and one Butler are conceived this weekend.
Then the weeks are passing by and everything goes back to normal again. On another normal Saturday morning... (Although normal?) Gracie and Brighton are at their friends' and the twins and Emily are having tennis lessons.
Fan and CC are babbling at the coffee table.
"Wow, this is good, Max and Niles are working this morning, the twins and Emily are away for a couple of hours.... This is real live!"
CC nods and then says. "Fran, I am not sure but I think I am pregnant. I have to throw up all the time".
"Yeah, me too". Both start laughing.
"Shall we buy an pregnancy test?"
And so they go to the drugstore.
"Two pregnancy tests for Fran Sheffield and CC Butler".
"Shh, Fred, be nice to us, you and Val are almost family" Fran whispers to Fred.
"Yes, but still when the twins had the rash, just like you several years ago... It makes me nauseous".
CC says to Fred: "Do you and Val want to have children?"
"Well, we don't know yet, we still have to discuss that part of our relationship, we have seen your children and now I am doubting... all these diseases they can have".
"Oy, why did Val pick up that man" is the Fran's whisper to CC."
Meanwhile at home, Max is opening the mail.
"Ohh my God, a reunion of Fran's high-school".
Niles comes in. "Tea sir?"
"Yes, please, and Niles, can you close the door please?"
"Of course sir?"
"First of all, do you know where our ladies went to?"
"No sir, they were at the coffee table when I took the children to their tennis lessons".
"Since you've been married to CC, your Yenta skill has gone a little bit, old man."
"But sir, when will you allow me to buy that new tone-tech intercom with extra spy stuff?"
"For bloody sake, buy it - no I'm becoming more and more Fran than I used to..." Max grins.
"What was your second question, sir?"
"Niles, first of all: Call me Max, like I already told you several times. We are friends, we live in the same house."
"Of course, sir, I mean Max, but I am still not used to it. Now dish." Niles takes also some tea and Max starts talking again.
"Niles, I just found an invitation for Fran for a new reunion of her high-school and I cannot hide it from her. Now I'm afraid that I have to join her this time, I mean, Val should already be here to tell her."
"Ohh, man, that's what you are married for, for bad and for worst, wasn't it?" replies Niles.
"And regarding that "worst", do you know if we already have pregnant wives?"
"Well, Niles, I have no idea. I have been working very hard and was very glad, that now I have the excuse to come home late and practice. Benefits of my wife wanting to be pregnant again".
"Yeah, I know, I hardly have seen the ice queen the last couple of weeks, but when she comes home...." Niles replies with a dreaming face.
Niles looks at his watch. "I have to pick up the children. I hope the poor man survived.. Teaching 3 thunders how to play tennis... I would not want to be in his shoes!"
Max grins again. "Yeah, I hope they are better than me, because even Fran wins against me.
(We now see a short flashback of 3.22 That's Midlife).
Niles is taking his jacket and is leaving the house. At the same moment Fran and CC are barging in.
"Max, I am home!" Fran is shouting as soon as she enters the mansion.
"Bellboy, where are you going?" CC looks at Niles.
"Pickup 3 little thunders from tennis lessons, will you join me?"
"Ok, we can do the pregnancy test later then."
Niles is almost fainting.
"What already? I just wanted to practice a lot," he says.
"First let's do the test, shall we?"
"Fran we are going now, see you at lunch".
"Ok" is the reply of Fran and then she continues "Max, where are you?"
"I heard you! Can I see you in the office please?" says Max.
"Oy, what have I done? You are such a turn on when you say that you know. And I don't anything about that Ming vase.."
"What???". "Miss. Very. Fine. In my office, right now!"
"Ok, honey, but remember: it is Sheffield. For your information, ya know".
Max mumbles. "She will never stop, my God, who did I marry, who do I love?"
"Maaaaaax..."
"Let's go to the office, please."
In the limo Niles looks lovingly at CC, the pregnancy test is blue. It seems to be that a new Butler will make his entrance within a few months. They decide that CC will go to Dr Reynolds before they announce it to the rest the family.
"Babcock, you will never stop to amaze me".
"I always wanted a little bellboy. Hopefully it is." CC's almost starting to cry, a little wonder happens.
At the office Fran and Max are talking.
'You first" they say simultaneously.
"Ok, Fran darling, you got a new invitation from you high-school. Please can't we book a romantic weekend instead? I hate to go to reunions, you know?'
"No, no. No, Maxwell Sheffield. You will join me this time, the first time you were not able to admit that you love me (flashback to 2.15 Kindervelt days) and the second time you have to talk to the President (flashback to 5.18 The Reunion Show). But this time you'll have to join me". "Please Max" and sitting on his lab, she kisses him passionately.
"Well, well, well, ok" Max agrees, gazing at her.
He looks in her eyes with a question.
"What did you want to tell me?"
Fran gives him the pregnancy test.
"Honey, let's do it together?"
Max is surprised. "So soon, are you sure you want do the test?"
Fran nods.
"Fran, promise me one thing, that you will also go to Doctor Reynolds, even when the test is negative".
"Promised. Shall we?" she looks at Max. He takes the test and...
Several minutes later Fran is jumping. "Max, we did it!"
Max takes his wife in his arms and kisses her. "Love you."
"Love you more". They kiss again and again.
"What time is it?"
"Oy, Max, they kids will be home any minute, and ya know CC also bought a test.."
At that same moment the twins and the Butlers are arriving at the mansion.
"Mummy, mummy, I beat Jonah!"
"Dad, she slaughtered me, my sister" Jonah is shouting from the hall.
Max and Fran hug their twins, while Jack is taking the jackets and the bags from everyone.
Max says to Jonah: "So you had a good time, hadn't you? Son, get used to it, that at tennis the Sheffield women are better. Even mum beats me. But we are real winners, because we have the honour of loving them".
"Oy Max, are you romantic or what.." she kisses Max lightly.
Then she is looking questionably at Niles and CC. Both can only smile.
"You are?"
"Oh my God. Moody wives expected..." says Niles.
Max and he shake hands, so the twins and Emily should not have any idea....
When CC and Fran go to Doctor Reynolds later that week, they both got the good news that they are pregnant and that they have to take care of themselves due to their age. When they tell everyone the good news, it becomes hectic in the residence. Everybody is happy with it, the twins and Emily, because within a couple of months they will be "big brother" and "big" sisters, Gracie, because she loves babies and Brighton is hoping, that there would be more brothers because there are already too many ladies in the house. Maggie and Michael are also joining the short celebration; they know how Fran has always wanted to be a mummy. But now she will be a "big" mummy according to her.
A couple of months later in the second trimester Fran and Max are going to doctor Reynolds for a sonogram. Niles and CC already did one and they saw on the screen, that there was a little butler man on the way. CC finds it a blessing, although her mother didn't like it. Silvia and Morty are walking on clouds, more grandchildren - what a blessing! They can hardly wait.
In the office Max and Fran are arguing.
"Fran this time I don't want to know what it will be, let it be a surprise".
"Max if you don't want to know, then I can't buy clothes for little Schloma or Schlomo".
"This from a women who brings me surprises every day, and finds me boring and who gives his kid the name Schlomo or Schloma anyway, I am sure we don't".
"Maxwell, but I will agree on that, but honey; I've never said you were boring, I said you were predictable and you still are.
(Flashback to 3.16 The Grandmas).

"Let's not rehash, all right? If you want to know the sex of the baby, I have to agree with you".
Max knows his wife. He knows he can't argue with his pregnant wife. He kisses her lightly on the head.
"Hello, how are you feeling today?" Doctor Reynolds is coming in.
"Fine" is the reply of our couple.
"I thought your name was Sheffield now" Dr Reynolds teases the couple. I suppose you want to know the sex of the baby, just like the last time".
Max nods. "Just like the last time my wife wants to know" and rubs his temple, looking towards the sky, wondering how he will survive the coming months and the reunion, which is next week.
They both look at the screen. Again Dr. Reynolds surprised.
"Fran, Max I think your are having twins again."
Max and Fran look at each other.
"What?"
"Let me see, I see a little boy and another little boy!".
Max is still amazed. Then he looks at Fran and says: "You had that feeling, hadn't you?"
Fran nods. She kisses him.
"That will be a little Morton and a little James I suppose?" she looks at Max.
"Shall we discuss that part in the limo dear?".
They thank Doctor Reynolds, who wants to see them every two weeks.
Max is still amazed when he is sitting in the limo. Again twins and boys; his wife has always been an overachiever. Then he looks at Fran and gazes at her and kisses her passionately.
"Wow honey, I suppose you are happy with it".
"You never stop amazing me, Fran, and of course I am happy, two boys! Morton and James are good but as second names. I do not want to have a son called Morty in the house. I was thinking about something like David Morton and Adam James Sheffield, how does it sound, keeping in mind that on our first ones we also used names from the Bible and which are also Hebrew. Our children are British and Yiddish so... It will be mixed names from a mixed couple".
"Max this time I have to agree with you beautiful names and so special. Why don't we add your names? These two little fellows will definitely be our last ones. So why don't we call them: Adam James Maxwell and David Morton Beverly Sheffield? They both will have something from you then."
"Darling, that is really nice of you, so we've already made our decision?"
She looks at him and he sees in her eyes the love they share and then nods.
"I really love you, you know?"
"And I love you". They share a kiss again, which is so tender that Fran has tears in her eyes.
"Love you".
"Love you more".
"Shall we tell the news this evening at diner?" is his reply when he wipes her tears away. So they decide to do.
A couple of weeks later the important evening for Fran is finally coming. She shows her hubby to all her old classmates at the reunion and especially to Judy Silverman. She doesn't know why, but still there is the anger and bitterness of all those years. Thanks to Donna Karan she looks beautiful and she is barely showing although 5 months pregnant.
"Darling, you look stunning" is the only thing Max can say when he comes in their room and sees her. "Do we really have to go darling? Now CC and Niles are taking care of the children we could have our own party here..." He looks seductively at her.
"Max, we will have that party later, but now I really want to go and show you off. You look extremely handsome. By the way, that smell, is that the new Aramis? Wow, do you smell delicious or what!". She kisses him with all the love she has.
"Thank you Max, for joining me this time and we will have a great time later, I promise. And thanks for these ones". She puts her hands on her tummy.
"Well, I hope we'll have, darling. It is really hard to believe that there are two little Sheffield's growing in you. But I am glad they are mine". Again he kisses her. It is amazing how after all these years he still loves her more every day.
At the reunion Fran introduces her husband. No more she has to say he is in the bathroom. Then Judy Silverman comes in.
"Hey Fran is that you? Long time no see. You seemed to have gained so much more weight".
"Max whispers to his wife. "It's that her, darling?"
She nods.
Standing behind his wife and before Fran is able to reply he answers "Well Judy, you would have also gained some extra weight when you were expecting twins. By the way, let me introduce myself: Maxwell Sheffield, Fran's beloved husband".
Judy's almost fainting.
"You are her husband? But several years ago she was your nanny, wasn't she?"
"Honey, let me answer this time ok?" Then Fran replies to Judy. "Yes I was the nanny but at the first reunion we already knew we were in love. We have been married for more than 5 years now. I am now a mummy although I easier should say "big" mummy and wife. I adopted Max's first three children. We already had twins, who are now at the beautiful age of 4 and these two little ones" she put hers and Max's hand on her tummy "are the extra. By the way, where is your partner? Is he gay just like the last time?"
Max is extremely proud of his wife. God, he loves her. Especially now. Finally she put the past behind.
At that moment Val is coming in together with Fred.
"Fran, I have got fabulous news. Do you have a moment? Fran follows Val and that leaves Maxwell and Fred alone. Then Val tells Fran she is also pregnant.
"You are? Honey that is so great".
Max hears it too from Fred at the some time. Then he hugs Val and shakes Fred's hand. Then Fran looks again to Judy.
"Where is you hubby doll? You already met Fred the pharmacist, I suppose, Val's husband?"
Judy looks pale and then answers. "I am a businesswomen, I do not have a man".
"Oh, honey, I am so sorry for you."
"Was she like this the first time?"
She looks at Max "Let's dance, honey, and then we will have our own party". They share one dance. That evening they have their own private party...
In the third trimester of their ladies, Niles and Max are in the office and having a cup of coffee.
"Niles, do you think that our ladies will agree when we hire a nanny? I tried to tell Fran but every time she seems to avoid that question".
"Well with my CC it is the same thing Sir, I mean, Max. We also have discussions about the name of our son and according to me you already solved that problem".
"Thank God we have, but to be honest Niles, 6 little children around the house is a blessing, but I want to have a wife and a good business partner when the babies will have arrived. Even you can not handle that, either. We really need a nanny at least for some days; I want to have relations and also sometimes some time with my wife. We need a nanny".
"I can only agree with you, I want a wife and not want her to be exhausted when she comes home from the theatre, not a wife who falls asleep as soon as she is at home". Both men agree.
"We definitely need a nanny but how to convince 2 moody wives.... Oy, that will really be difficult".
Fran and Max are sitting in bed that evening.
"Fran, darling, I have been thinking... would you agree if I say we should hire a nanny after the babies will be born?"
"Max, I want to take care of my own children when they are born. It is almost the same as when you hired me as a nanny. Gracie, Brighton and Maggie don't need me anymore. Although sometimes..."
"No, darling, we really need one when we have 3 babies around the house. I want to have a wife when I come home. Not one who's exhausted because she only took care of children. You also need time to shop and take some time for yourself".
"Maxwell Sheffield, let me make myself understood. You married your nanny and I do not want another woman around in this household".
"Well why don't we hire a male one instead? Probably your old boyfriend is available?".
"Well when you had admitted at that time that you loved me, mister, we wouldn't... You mean it do you?"
"Yes I do, darling. I know that you love me and after what we just did, I cannot imagine that you will ever have another men".
"Oh honey, you are so right about that'. They agree to hire a male nanny.
Meanwhile at the same time in another part of the house Niles and CC are also arguing.
"What about, Colin Niles Butler?".
"I do not want my son to have the name of one of your old boyfriends".
"Why don't we call him Stuart Niles?"
"Although my relationship with daddy changed after nanny Fine, I mean Fran, brought us together, I do not want to give him that name, I want to have a name which sounds lovely". Why don't we name him after another man, we both see as a friend. Why don't we name him for example Brighton or Maxwell Niles Stuart Butler?"
"Name him after Brighton or Max?' Niles is really surprised.
"Yes, he is like a son to you -or make it us- and Max is one or our best friends. Or make it a combination... let's call him Brighton Beverly Niles and like CC we call him BB just like CC.
" So we agreed?"
"We do, Brighton Beverly Niles it is".
"What about a nanny around the house?"
"Well to be honest, Niles, do you think we need one?"
"Do you agree?"
"Surprised? I can show you some more surprises..."..
Several months later Fran Sheffield and CC Butler both give birth to Adam James Maxwell Sheffield, David Morton Beverly Sheffield and Brighton Beverly Niles Butler (The "big" Brighton is excited about it, 3 brothers, wow!).
And the new male nanny... well is a man around 50 and the Jack's father...a widower with lots of experience and his name is: Piles. The children love him already and both couples are satisfied with him. They are looking forward to the future and so do we.
