My Confirmation class was studying the book "I Am Jewish" and I came up with this idea.

Growing up my parents’ never pressured my brother or myself to associate with any specific religion. They never told to me that I had to choose between celebrating Christian holidays with my father’s family or Jewish ones with my mother and her family. We just automatically celebrated both. This system didn’t really bother me until I was around 9 years old.
I remember it happened during school. The teacher gave us an assignment in which we had to describe what religion we were a part of and some of its customs. I panicked. I didn’t know what to write about! So, I decided to talk to the teacher after class. After I discussed my situation with her she gave me the brilliant suggestion of picking one of my religions and writing about that. I thanked her and walked away, even though I knew that her advice did not fix my problem.
When I got home I spent the next few hours pacing around my room. Pick one religion! How could I pick one religion? Both had had great influence on my life. So, I decided to ask my brother what he was writing his report about. “I’m going to do it on Jonahism.” he responded. “Jonah, that’s not a real religion!” I screamed back at him. “I know, but I don’t belong to any religion, I worship myself.” Frustrated, I slammed the door in his face.
The next person I consulted was my grandfather. When most kids have a problem they usually go to their parents for help, but I was not most kids. My grandfather as zany and sports-obsessed as he was would drop anything whenever I would call. Hello I said enthusiastically as I heard his voice on the other end. “Hey, how’s the cutest granddaughter in the world?” he responded back. (As you can tell I was his favorite grandchild.) I explained my problem to him and he came up with the solution of creating a pro/con list. “Grandpa, do I look like Rory Gilmore to you?” I protested. “C’mon Eve try it, trust me it’ll work.”
So, I tried my grandfather’s suggestion. I made a list of all the things that I enjoyed about Judaism and all the things that I enjoyed about Christianity. This took me three hours. At the end of three hours I had an realiealized that I associated with Judaism more than any other religion! It fit me not just on a religious level but on a cultural level as well. From that moment on I decided that I was Jewish, no ifs ds or buts.
