The characters that I use in this story are owned by Fran Drescher, Peter Marc Jacobson, and…… I don't want to get sued, because I don't have any money to even pay for the trip to the USA. This takes place right after Maxwell proposed to Fran. Fran is in the kitchen and has just talked to Niles.
Maxwell enters the kitchen.
Max: Niles, crack open a bottle of champagne, lets celebrate.
Fran: No Niles. No champagne. Mr. Sheffield, I need to talk to you. Niles would you please leave us alone for a moment?
Niles: Off course.
Maxwell: What is it Fran? Don't you want to celebrate?
Fran: We have to talk.
Maxwell: What about?
Fran: I can't accept you marriage proposal.
Maxwell: What do you mean? Don't you want to marry me?
Fran: There's nothing in the world I want more than to marry you. But I can't.
Maxwell: I don't understand.
Fran: I love you like no one else in world. But I want to marry you out love, and not because you feel you have to make something up to me. I will marry you if you realize that you love me like I love you.
Fran had tears in her eyes. She left and went to her room were she cried until she felt she had no more tears left. Niles walked by her room and saw her crying.
Niles: Are you all right Miss Fine?
Fran: Oh Niles, is it ever going to happen between the two of us?
Niles hugged her.
Niles: I don't think I want to start a relationship with you.
Fran smiled.
Fran: No silly. I mean between Mr. Sheffield and me.
Niles: I don't know.
He hugged her again. Maxwell walked by and saw Niles hug Fran. He was supposed to do that. He was supposed to love her. He wasn't supposed to hurt her like he did.
He knocked on her door. Niles and Fran looked up.
Maxwell: Niles would you leave us alone for a moment?
Niles looked at Fran who gave her an affirmative nod.
Maxwell: Fran, I want to talk to you. What you said to me really spoke to me. I suppose I knew that you loved me. I just never knew how much. And I want you to know that I love you too. That's why.....
He got a small box out of his pocket and got down on one knee.
Maxwell: ....I'm asking you to marry me.
Fran: Oh Maxwell off course I will.
They kissed each other with all the passion and love they felt inside.
