Fran Meets Richard Simmons

"Sweetheart, I have a surprise for you." Max said. "I know how you have been wanting to get back into shape from having the twins, so I have asked someone to come by and lift your spirits."Max said. "Who?" Fran asked. "Richard Simmons." Max replied.

"He is coming over here this afternoon." He has his own fitness studio here in Beverly Hills, you know." Max said. "Oh, honey, thank you, I have always liked him, he seems to put all he has into his work." She said. "I am going to get ready, and I want ma to come, and Val." Fran said.

"Wait, who's gonna watch the twins?" She asked. "Don't worry, Fran, I have it covered." he said. "thank you, honey, I am looking forward to this." Fran said while she kissed him.

It is 2pm, and Richard is ringing the doorbell. Fran rushes to the door. "Hi, you must be Fran, I am Richard Simmons." Richard said. "Hi, how are you?" Fran asked, and Richard gave her a big hug. "I am fine, it is nice to meet you." Richard said. "I have heard a lot about you, Richard, is it true you love Barbara Streisand? " Fran asked.

"I sure do, Fran." Richard replies. "Well, then we have this in common." Fran said. Fran shows Richard her albums, and her scrapbook. Max comes in, and he and Richard shake hands. "glad you could make it, Richard." Max said. "Thanks for inviting me, Max." Richard said.

"Say, why don't we workout, Fran, bet you'd like to get started." Richard said. The door bell rings, and it is Sylvia and Val. "Richard, this is my Ma, and my best friend, Val." Fran said. "I hope you don't mind if they join us." Fran said. "Oh, the more the merrier." Richard said.

Richard has brought the oldies music with him, and Max had arranged for live music on the piano. Val and Sylvia shook hands with Richard, and he gave them an autographed photo of himself. Sylvia said, "Richard, I have lost 40 pounds." she said. "I feel great." "Richard said, "That's terrific, Sylvia, "Are you ready to do some sweatin to the oldies?" "Am I ever." Sylvia replies.

They had already moved out the furniture to make room for working out. Richard is impressed with how they all keep up with him. Max likes watching his wife work out. He could tell she was enjoying it.

After an hour, Richard had them do the cool down exercises. He had taught them how to take their pulse periodically as well. "How would you three like to be my personal guests at Slimmons?" Richard asked.

"I would love it, thank you, Richard. Fran hugs him. Sylvia and Val are excited to. "Sounds fun." they all say. "It is important to stay active everyday, make the time". Richard said. "I hope I am not too sore, tomorrow," Fran said. "Well, if you are not used to it, you may be for a while, until your body adjusts."Richard said.

Sylvia gets a foodmover from Richard. Val gets one to. "Fran, would you like to be in my workout video?" Richard asked. "Oh, honey, could I? "Fran asked Max. "Sure, Fran, if it is what you want. "It is all settled, then." Richard said. "I will keep you posted on the where and when, ok?" Richard said. "Sounds good, Richard." Fran said.

"I am at Slimmons most weeks on certain days. Here are your free passes, and here is my monthly calendar planner. Even if I am not there, you can come when you like, I have excellent instructors." Richard said. "The passes are good for anytime, free for a year." Richard said.

Max had some models coming over, and when they arrived, they all wanted autographs from Richard. He didn't mind, and they all wanted a picture with him. Fran had some made to. "What a fun time this afternoon." Thank you, Richard for coming." Fran said.

"Thank you for the passes to." Fran said. "No, problem, Fran, glad to help, and remember, you need your top shape to handle those twins." he said. "Come over anytime, Richard, and I will come see you soon." Fran said.

Richard left, and the place was still buzzing from his visit. Even Niles got into the workout, he had fun. CC had fun watching Niles.He wore shorts, and a muscle top.

Fran hugged Max for arranging a fabulous afternoon for her. She ran up and took a shower, and changed. The next morning, she was sore, but she worked out to the tapes Richard had left her. The twins were sleeping, and she had remembered Richard telling her to make the time.

It felt good to work out, she really felt energized. She had dropped the colas, and drank bottled water, another tip of Richard's. She began on the low fat recipes he left, and they tasted great. Soon, Max was having trouble keeping up with Fran's new boost of energy.

"I am off to Slimmons, honey." Fran said. Val was going to. It was Fran's first visit to Slimmons, and she was impressed. There was a salad bar, refreshments, even fruit. One big workout room, with a wooden floor. Everyone made her feel right at home. Richard was glad to see her and Val.

After the workout, Richard invited them for salad, and a beverage, and they talked. "Richard, you were right, I am sore, but I have more enrgy than my husband right now, and I love your recipes." she said. "Thank you, Fran". Richard said. "I put together a schedule for you, of my taping for the video. I hope you will be ready, Fran, it isn't as easy as it looks, with rehearsal, and things." he said.

"I will be ready, Richard." Fran said." Thanks for this opportunity."she said. "You are very welcome, Fran." Richard said. They hugged, and Fran had to go. Val hugged Richard to. "Richard, I love your place?" Val said. "thank you, Val." Richard said. Fran took Val home, and then she went home.

Niles didn't mind cooking different things, it was helping Fran, and he loved to see her healthier and happy. He liked Richard's recipes to. He was losing weight, and CC was taking notice.

Max calls richard, 'Hi, this is Maxwell Sheffield, Fran's husband." Max said. "Sure, Max, what can I do for you?" Richard asked. "I want to invite you to my opening night of my new Broadway production,"Rainbow." he said. "Sure, what night?" Richard said. "This Saturday evening.' Max said. "Sure, Max. I 'd love to come." Richard replies. "thank you for inviting me." Richard said. "You're welcome,Richard, it is my way of thanking you for all the help you are being to Fran." Max said.

Fran hears Max. Max said goodbye, and hangs up the phone. "Honey, what a sweet thought." Fran said. "Is he coming?" "yes, he said he'd come." Max said. "Oh, honey, he is such a sweetie, he really cares about people." Fran said. "I am honored to be his friend, Max." Fran said.

Fran was getting back her figure, and Max was happy to. Fran is beautiful no matter, but having her figure back means a happier marriage to. Fran had the endurance to take care of family, Max, the video, and Slimmons visits. She was even planning her own class soon.

Richard had a great time at the Broadway show. Max gave Richard season passes. Richard was going to treat his staff to the show. "They work hard, and I want to show them a night on the town."Richard said. He did, and his staff loved it.

Fran was sleeping better. She didn't need any sleeping remedies, because she was on the plan of a lifetime, and her body naturally allowed her to sleep. Another advantage to Richard's plan.

Fran loved taping the video with Richard. She met the others who starred in it, and the tape sold like hotcakes. Fran ended up being a spokesperson promoting Richard's plan. After 6 months into it, Sylvia had her figure back, and Fran was looking good, Val even was slimmer.

Life was good, and it all began with Max's idea for Fran to meet Richard.
