Horseback Riding

"Fran, we are taking a vacation, the two of us." Max announced. "You will never guess where we are headed." Max said. "Where?" Fran asked. "Old Bear Club Road Lodge and Ranch." Max said.

"we are going hiking, and horseback riding." Max said. "Oy, horseback riding?" Fran asked. "I like new adventures, Max, but I don't know about this." she said. "Fran, I will teach you, and you will catch on." he said.

"Alright, Max, I am safely in your hands, don't let me fall." she said. Max laughed. "I won't." he giggled. "Don't worry." Max said. "the most you would need to worry about, is saddle soreness." Max said.

"Oy, saddle soreness, Max, I don't know." she said. "Oh, Fran, you will get used to it, and then soreness passes." Max said. "Well, at least you are warning me ahead of time." Fran said. "Now let's pack, we leave tonight." Max said.

Niles takes them to the airport. Mrs..Sheffield, don't get lost or fall off the horse." Niles said. "Niles, stop joking, I am already nervous." Fran said. "Fran, darling, you're in good hands." Max promised.

They board the plane, and sleep on the way. Max is looking forward to the getaway for them. Fran wakes up, she had a dream she had fallen off the horse. "Fran, don't worry." Max said. "You will do fine." he said.

"Darn that Niles." she said, and she fell back to sleep. Max laughed, and reassured her again. Before too long, they were there, and they went to get their luggage. Soon, it was off to get checked in.

Max and Fran slept and refreshed, then headed for the trail. Max insisted Fran wear jeans, he likes the way she wears them anyway, but they would help with chaffing that could occur. Max gets Fran comfortable with the horse first, and he teaches her how to mount and lead the horse, he teaches her little tricks of the trade.

When he thinks she is ready, he has her ride, with him behind her, then by herself, making sure he still was right there. Fran began relaxing and having fun. Her horse's name is Galaxy. She bonds with the horse.

Max spent a couple of days showing Fran all these things, and by the third day, she is ready for her own ride. Max stays close, and she does well her first time out. She makes a joke when their done."I guess this means I am not a virgin horseback rider." she said. Max laughed.

Max chases Fran up to their room, for fun, Fran challenged him to a foot race. Max always loved to chase her, this was no different. He finally catches up with her, and she closes the elevator before he could get in.

When he gets to their floor, she teases, "What took you so long?" He chases her in the room. After some tickling, they realize how hungry they have become. "We need to eat, honey." Fran said. "Alright, let's order in, ok?" Max said.

Max and Fran then make love, and rest for a while. They go hiking, and Fran made a wrong turn, she was away from Max for a while. She was lost, but then she retraced her steps, and found him. "Fran, are you alright?" Max asked.

"Yes, honey, I am glad I found you, it was scary." she said. "I was worried about you." "here, have some water, Sweetheart." Max said. "thank you, Max." she said.

When they returned to their room, Fran went fast to sleep. When she awoke, she was a little sore from all the activities. She soaked in the tub, and it eased her pain. Max gave her an all over body massage after.

"Oh, Max, I am in heaven." she said. "Don't say that, Fran." Max said. Fran forgot that statement would bother Max, because of what happened to his first wife, Sara. "Oh, sorry, honey." she said.

"Well, it feels good, ok?" Fran said. Max knew Fran didn't mean to hurt him. "Alright, how about some supper?" Max asked."Oh, yummy, I need to eat." she said.

Max ordered a romantic dinner for their room. "Fran, we can rest tomorrow, if you want to." he said. "Well, I want some time with Galaxy." Fran said. He is a beautiful horse, Max." she said. "You like horse back riding?" Max asked. "Yes, Max, and I owe it to you." she said.

The next day, they go for the ranch, and Max is impressed the way Fran is more comfortable around Galaxy. She looked natural. She was a little saddle sore, but nothing a little ointment wouldn't help with.

Max and Fran took their first ride together. Galaxy was spooked by something, and bucked, but Fran stayed on, it frightened her, but she wasn't hurt. Max was right there to settle the horse.

Max was impressed with how well Fran did in the moment Galaxy spooked. They decide to go riding later, Galaxy needed a rest, and then they would try again. Max and Fran went into their rental car, and toured around for a while.

Max's horse was called, Sadie Lane. She was beautiful. Brown maple color, and Galaxy was Black velvet color. Both horses had mannerisms which suited Max and Fran.

Max went over some tips for Fran. In case it happened again, Fran learned what to do. "Horses cans sense when the person riding is afraid." Max said. "Yes, honey, I am learning." she said. "Oy, I am sore." she said.

It was time to eat lunch. They found a cafe near by and went in. A woman comes running up, "Are you Maxwell Sheffield?" she asked. "Yes, I am, Max said. "Could I have your autograph?" she asked. "Sure." Max said. Then she took their order. "This is on me, Mr..Sheffield," she said with a wink.

Max and Fran appreciated it. After lunch, they went to try horseback riding again. It went well, both horses cooperated. Fran raced Max in fact, and she won. "Oh, I beat your fanny at this to." she giggled." She had beaten him at tennis before back when he had a midlife crisis.

"Ooooh, well do it again, Mrs..Sheffield." he said.Max said.Fran beat him again." She laughed. The next several days were relaxing and fun for the couple. Sometimes, it was like noone else existed, the love this couple have for one another.

It was soon time to go home. Fran rode Galaxy one last time. She was going to miss him. "Fran, I have a surprise for you." Max said."he is yours, I bought him for you." he said. "Oh, Max, how sweet!" she said.

"In fact, this whole place is ours." he said. "We can come whenever we want." Max said. " Thank you, honey!" Fran said. They kissed. Fran even kissed Galaxy, and Sadie. "what sweet horses you are!' she said.

Max laughed and smiled at the way Fran enjoyed the horses. "Fran, when we decide on children, no horseback riding." Max said. "Max, I wouldn't, not when I am pregnant. " Fran said.

They left for home. It wasn't too long after, and Fran was pregnant. Max was in for a surprise. Fran smiled. Now our love comes even a step further." she said.
