"Two years.." Chandler groaned looking out from the deck of Queen Anne's revenge. "Two years I have waited for a chance."
"One-Eye.." The skinny man groaned looking at his ally. "I have waited longer than you. Now that your former friends are completely under English control. It will only be a matter of time."
"They have given up the sea." Chandler's face look drawn.
"Yes, but the sea doesn't give up their children so easily." The Captain handed over a wood cup. "Things are going to get real interesting." The Captain's soft grin took Chandler back a bit. "You'll get your revenge, and so will I."

She couldn't help but smile looking down at the little boy. "Come here Jason." She leaned down to catch him in her arms.
"Ma, ma!" Jason called out throwing his chubby arms around her neck.
"I'm going to go fishing with Eve!" James called out putting up his practice blade.
"Wait a moment young man." C.C. growled walking up to him. "No 'hello' first?"
"Hello! Hello!" He kissed his mother's cheek and tickled his little brother. C.C. rolled her eyes at her son.
"Alright, but a quick question!" She pulled at his arms. "Did Eve tell you how Fran was doing today?" The weather had turned unseasonably chilly for once. Fran's broken leg from two years..never did heal correctly.
"Why not ask her yourself?" Fran smiled holding her cane. "Eve's waiting for you, James."
"How are you feeling?" C.C. turned and tossed her dress. Neither woman wore the lady like dresses preferring the tavern style of dress.
"I would feel a lot better," Fran let out a sigh taking a seat. "If they would pull into port." Fran and Maxwell also had another child, William. "I wonder what exactly they are doing out there."
C.C. raised a hand walking into the other room. She came back producing a whiskey bottle. "Well nothing like a few drops of whiskey to take away the sting of missing husbands?" C.C. winked, handing over a wooden cup.
Atlantic Ocean---1690---
C.C. glared into Anne's eyes. "You think I'm going to stab my friend in the back?" Her rapier raised towards the woman's throat.
"Frannie`s done for, Babcock." Anne`s eyes glared and she raised her own rapier. "We need to leave now!"
"Gold and jewels be dammed!" C.C. turned and cut a rope.
"You're giving up a fortune for that girl!" Anne gasp watching C.C. jump aboard the Dutch ship. "Dammit! Your going to get us caught!"
"Hello..Hello Boys!" C.C. laughed as she was quickly surrounded by ten men.
"Well Batty Babcock,! You live up to your name! Now I get to kill two birds with one stone!" The Dutch Admiral had been trying to make his escape. Fran was tied to upwards by the crows nest. C.C. felt herself snickering eyeing the woman.
C .C., then turned, noticing Dutch ships going after Anne's ship. "Your not man enough to handle me Dutch boy." She snarled as the captors pushed around C.C., creating a surrounding circle.
"Any time Babcock!" Fran, called out with her nasal voice.
"Be with you in just a moment." C.C. jumped upwards towards the group of men as they all ran from her. She let out a deep throated laughter. C.C. had hoped her reputation would serve. She quickly managed to unarm one man that came up to face her. She took off the coat, turning to face the fat Captain.
"Your out manned.. Your friends have left you.. Stand down." He grumbled using his broken English.
"Ahh, Your friends are gone as well. They are after a larger prize!" Her face broke into a half smile then she heard it. The roar of cannons. C.C. ran past the Dutch Captain heading towards Fran.
"Fire!" Anne Bonney roared to her crew. "Hurry up, or we'll end up as lunch for Spain!"
The ships great cannons started to tear at the Dutch. "Hello, hello ! Going my way?" C.C. cut Fran's ropes holding onto her tightly.
"What the hell took you so long?"
"Sorry, I had a date." C.C. smirked helping Fran inside the empty crows nest. C.C. pulled out a small flask. "Shall we wait until Bonney is finish with them?"
"Well one little drink couldn't hurt anyone?" Fran grabbed her flask taking a long gulp. "Alright I'm ready!"
Fran stood up wanting to jump down, C.C. snickered. "Fran!" C.C. was still seated, holding up the extra rapier she had taken off one of the crew.
"Ahh thank you.." Fran smiled hoping down. "C.C.! Sometime soon please!" She yelled out , and gave a nasal laugh.
"Oy vey .." C.C. stood up heading back down the deck after Fran.
"You are insane!" Bonney yelled in her face. "Chandler would have had my hide if you died. "
"We won the ship didn't we?" C.C. sipped at the flask and smiled brightly.
"Luck!" Anne spit at her feet.
"Listen.. Lady.." C.C. growled looking in the woman's face. "I will never leave anyone behind!" Both women pulled out their rapiers.
"Ladies! Ladies! Enough.. We will have time for fights.. Later!" Bart smirked looking at the three women. "I'm sure one day you'll both have a chance to cross those rapiers."
"The day couldn't come soon enough for me." Anne snarled, and clicked her teeth once.
"You'll be pleading for mercy before then." C.C. winked at the woman. "Pleading your belly no doubt."

"Well?" Maxwell stopped watching a stunned Darren.
"It's one thing being a English Privateer, and it's another thing Maxwell, having a navy rank." Darren shifted in the uniform. "My boys are going to have a good laugh."
"Well, at least you can impress the ladies." Niles teased watching Darren's face twist in pain. "Nat has one now too."
"Nat looks better in his." Darren grumbled following Maxwell and Niles. "Your parents still having a hard time with your marriage, Niles?"
"They are having a hard time not seeing the children." Niles shook his head towards Maxwell. "Sir, she's alright."
"The weather has been cooler lately. You know how hard William's birth was before we left." Maxwell looked down in his hand at a small painting of Fran.
"Hell! Captain Frannie will be alright; she's tough as nails. "I would worry about yourself more than Fran." Darren winked as Niles knocked on the door.
"Time to face the music sir." Niles, felt his skin grow pale.
Port Royal, Jamaica---Present day---- English controlled
"You alright old boy?" Maxwell, placed a hand on Niles's shoulder.
"Yes. Yes Sir." Niles, knocked as Maxwell looked to Darren. Niles waited knocking again the door opened slowly. "What the hell?" Niles stepped in slowly followed by Maxwell and Darren. "Sam? Mother? Father?" Niles called out looking around. He came face to face with a pistol.
"Hello there Captain Butler, We've been expecting all of you." Her smile was soft, but had a wicked edge. "Allow me to introduce myself."
"Anne Bonney" Darren sighed as one of her men pushed Darren forward.
"Ahhh! Ghost!" Anne's face sparkled looking into Darren's eyes. "Did you miss me?"
"Depends, how has Jack been treating you?"
Niles coughed, looking at his gagged parents. "Pardon me,is this a bad time to ask? What the hell is going on here?"
"Now I see why Babcock married him." Anne walked forward to face Niles. "Always to the point."
"I'm just taking some bait." She tossed a rope towards the men holding onto Maxwell. "I already have one fish here." Her rapier touched Darren's chin. "We just need the other two."
"You're after it aren't you." Darren groaned.
"I told you three once. Do you know what that treasure could bring? You, Babcock and Fine always did have a soft heart Darren." Maxwell, eyed Darren wondering what the hell was going on.
"Care to tell us Darren?" Maxwell, felt the pain of ropes being tighten.
"Not now, sir." Darren groaned having his mouth gagged
Anne walked towards Maxwell touching his face softly. "Yes, Babcock and Fine do have great taste."
"We taking them to the waterway?" One of Anne's man called out.
"Until our fishes take the bait! Of course!"

C.C. tilted her head listening at Jacobs's news. "Niles's parents are here?"
"Aye Captain they arrived two hours ago." Jacobs, had retired after C.C. had given up the sea. "They seemed to be a little pale going to see the Commander."
"I would be pale seeing Luke." C.C. quickly looked around. "They don't wish to see me?"
"They haven't said a word about ya." Jacobs's face twisted looking at her face.
"Have you told Fran this?" C.C. quickly picked up Jason who was pulling on her skirts.
"No Captain, should I?"
"Not yet." She looked down at the toddler in her arms. "Shall we go see your grandparents, small one?"
Atlantic Ocean--1690---
"Dammit woman keep up that footwork!" Chandler, snickered looking towards Fran.
"Oy Vey! Chandler, ya can easy up a bit." Fran rolled her eyes rubbing the stings from his practice blade.
Anne rolled her eyes. "Jack why are we even helping these three?" She looked towards her lover.
"I owe the ghost a favor. That and I like them!" Jack laughed kissing her hand. "You must learn to lighten up my dear. There, will be plenty of Spanish ships to board soon."
"Something about this ship gives me the creeps. " C.C. grumbled over Jack's shoulder.
"My dear Babcock! Everything leaves you in a bad mood." Jack smirked looking towards C.C.
"Just bed your husband, just once, and she'll be fine." Anne laughed noticing C.C.'s face went pale. "What's a matter he's too much of a man for you?"
"I'm more of a man than him." C.C. snickered taking out a dagger.
"Ghostdancer is to our right Jack!" The man, from above called out.
"Good our little Spanish ship is close." Jack, hopped up signaling to Chandler. "You better move it Chandler, or we'll never get this done!"
"Why the Spanish named this ship Lion's Gold, I have no idea." Fran grumbled standing next to C.C. "It screams riches."
"Does it?" C.C.'s sharp eyes looked towards Ghostdancer's deck. "Something about this doesn't feel right. It's like the Spanish are scared of their cargo."
"Why do you say that?" Fran pulled out her rapier readying herself.
"No navy escort.. They are on a fast ship. I don't know about this Fran."
Former Port Refuge-- Virgin Islands---Present day-----
"Ahhh! Mrs. Butler." Luke took her hand kissing it. "You and young Jason are always a pleasure."
"Why are the Butlers's here Luke?" C.C., sighed letting Luke hold Jason. "I know they disapprove of me, but surely they would want to see the children."
"C.C." Luke sat on the desk as Jason held him tightly. He lifted up a piece of parchment. "You both are not the .."
"What?" C.C. opened the note trying to force her eyes to focus. Fran had been crippled since the attack on the port. C.C. had been unable to push her eyes back into focus. It took her extreme effort. This fact was only known by a handful of people
Fran and Chastity,
Even Spanish ships need to be set free, or a curse will come after thee!
I have Maxwell and Niles.
I want what is mine.
Anne Bonney, Jack, Bart and One-Eye.
C.C. felt herself groan as the words came into focus. "Figures rats would resurface." She handed the note. "I want to see the Butlers'." She snickered.
"What are you going to do?"
"I'm going to try and become Batty Babcock again." C.C. sighed picking up her young son.
Atlantic Ocean----1690-----
C.C. and Fran sang over onto the Ghostdancer. "Darren!" They both smiled as he ran to hug them.
"Well, well aren't we getting more lovelier every time I see you two." He held onto their waists teasing them. "Is Chandler going to accept my offer after this?"
"Chandler prefers to keep things interesting." C.C. snarled as she pulled herself away from Darren. "I would prefer a home port for once."
"What's wrong, Babcock?" Darren turned towards C.C. whose eyes started to search the water again. "You seem overly worried."
"There is an old saying. Something that is too good to be true normally is." C.C. at last spotted the on coming ship's golden sails. "It's time, Captain."
"Come on, Babcock. Curses only have power if you believe in them." Darren's words started to ring out in the crisp air.
Former Port Refuge--- Virgin Islands---Present day
C.C. paced up and down looking at James who held his younger brother tightly. "Ma, Stop it!" James groaned watching C.C.'s face twist in worry.
"I'm sorry, James." C.C. was trying to hide her worry. It wasn't over meeting Niles's parents , but about Niles himself. "I'm not exactly their favorite person ."
"Your not exactly who I had in mind for my son." David Butler walked in the room followed by Marie. "Hello." He didn't offer his hand, and Marie stood behind.
"Mister Butler, was Anne Bonney with these men that took Niles, Darren and Maxwell?" C.C. felt the meeting wasn't going to be pleasurable.
"Yes, and she's not a nice lady. Then again most women that chose to be pirates aren't." His words thick with venom towards his daughter-in-law.
C.C. felt the punch. "Most women have odd choices before them." She eyed Luke. "The Hawk's Nest is still owned by Fran and Me?"
"Yes, Mrs. Butler. " Luke shook his head. "Your in no shape C.C. to go after them allow the navy to take care of it's own."
"You don't understand, do you? They are demanding .." C.C. stopped watching Jason walk towards David. Niles's father stood stone still as James ran after his little brother.
C.C. felt her eyes glare. The old Babcock was boiling under the surface. "The cannons are off the Hawk's Nest. You and Fran wanted to start that shipping company. I don't understand why you used other ships besides The Hawk's Nest."
"I'm going after him. Come on James." The teenager followed his ,mother.
"They seemed rather cold." James grumbled holding his brother.
"James, I'm going to leave you and Jason with Mary." She knelt looking at her sons. "Do you remember where my chest is?"
James nodded slowly. "Ma you told me about that since I was four."
"I'm just checking." Her fingers touched his cheek. He was looking more and more like his father everyday. "Go to Mary's now tell her I'll be by when I talk with Fran."
James walked onward. C.C. found herself turning towards Fran's small house. Knocking on the door softly it was answered by Eve who was holding the little baby. "Hello,C.C." She smiled as C.C. leaned over to kiss the girl's cheek.
"Your mother around?"
"Ma!" Eve called out and C.C. could hear the soft clicking of Fran's cane.
"C.C. I was looking over the last shipment from the mainland." Fran blinked she had seen that face before. "What is it?" C.C. handed over the note she had been given. "Eve, you and Will head to Mary's."
"Okay Ma!" The girl skipped out leaving.
"Are you up to an sailing trip?" C.C. smirked looking down at Fran's leg.
"We are about to find out."
Atlantic Ocean------- Present day---------
"Well, well!" Chandler hopped downward looking at the men in bundles. "Presents this early! It's not even my birthday! Anne you shouldn't have."
Niles felt himself groan hearing Chandler's voice. *We should have just killed him while we had the chance.*
"Touch them and die One-Eye." Jack's rapier flew out of his belt aimed at Chandler's throat. "We need them in one piece."
"I am keeping up my end of this bargain. I help you gain control of the Lion's Gold cargo, and I get Ghost, Sheffield and Butler."
"You get them.. As soon as I get C.C. and Fran for that little stunt they pulled." Jack walked away followed by Anne.
Niles started to cough, needing the gag removed.
"Poor, poor Butler. Did you enjoy my wife?" Chandler's eyes flared in hate. "She's my property, Butler.. As long as I'm living.. She and Fran.." He yelled in Maxwell's ear. "Are mine.."
*If she has her chance.. You'll not live much longer.* Niles groaned fearing C.C.'s return to the sea.
"I don't think you should come along." C.C. watched Fran shuffle around on her leg. "If we get boarded you'll be needing to move quickly."
"You'll need to see." Fran smirked as C.C. froze in place. "Face the facts Miss Babcock we need one another." She pulled out two trunks. "I have no idea why I kept this. Oy Vey I'm, what did Darren call it?"
"Pack rat." C.C. smiled taking a key Fran offered her. "What's in here?"
"Open it." She smiled opening her own chest. C.C. found an old tricorn black that signaled her Captainship over one of the Sea Dogs ships. The pendant that crowned it glowed with a faint ruby. In the chest also contained her gold rapier, pistol, and an English style uniform. "I could have sworn I burned every last one.." She eyed Fran, who laughed.
"I just have a habit of keeping things." Fran pulled out her own tricorn hat placing it on her own head. "I can do it, C.C. If only one last time."
C.C. closed her eyes holding her wedding ring. Chandler never did offer her one, which was fine it wasn't a real marriage more like an enslavement. "We could sail tomorrow."
"Not without us." Jacobs walked in the door followed by a few other men. Since the weddings, men from all crews started to retire. They had been given riches beyond their wildest dreams thanks to C.C. handing over Chandler's estate to them. "Now, Did you think The Hawk's Nest would run itself,Captains?"
"Nat's in port now, Captain! He wants to join us as well." Another voice called out and Fran found herself in tears.
"Do you know who we are facing Mister Jacobs?" C.C.,looked towards her old second and smiled.
"Some of the best pirates that have ever sailed the seven seas?" Jacobs ran a hand along his graying whiskers. "Chance of death most certain. Well Captain Babcock, Captain Fine what are we waiting for? To hell and back I say!" Jacobs smile reciting Hellfire's motto.
"To hell and back indeed." C.C. stood up hugging the old man.
Waterway---- Pirate Controlled---
Niles gasped as the bag was ripped off his head. Anne Bonney pulled the gag down smiling at her captive. "You are handsome." She licked his neck causing Niles to shiver.
"Careful Bonney, my Babcock doesn't like to share." Niles managed a playful snarl towards her.
Bonney walked over to release Maxwell and Darren from their state. "Pitty Niles, because Babcock has shared before. Isn't that right Darren?"
Darren snarled at the woman. "This coming from the biggest." He didn't get a chance to finish his words. Bonney with a quick hand slapped him in the face.
"Ghost, Ghost, you must have better manners." Anne laughed looking towards Niles and Maxwell. "Did you think your wives had a clean past?"
Niles found his stomach jump. *C.C. had gone over all this before. I know Fran did the same for Max, but I don't think either one of us wants to hear it.* Anne sat down in a chair kicking her feet on Niles's lap. Niles fought to undo the ropes that tied his hands together.
"Darren why don't you tell the tale about your wife's death. How her little boy also had the scarlet fever." Anne was picking her fingernails with a dagger smiling.
Darren remained still. "No."
"Do you two know why we want Frannie and C.C. so badly?" Anne's hands ran along Niles's thigh. Niles felt pure anger rise up in his throat. "Darren here does."
Darren didn't move a muscle nor looked Bonney's direction.
Bonney walked towards Maxwell teasing him now with her body. "Darren here had a chance of glory, but instead he hid it away with those, whores." Bonney snarled.
"Takes one to know one." Niles snarled back, and then received another slap.
"The Spanish had all, but handed the ship over. No naval escort, nothing! Ghost here gave into his gut feeling." Bonney snarled.
"Woman, if your going a story tell it right." Darren rolled his eyes. "Otherwise isn't Jack calling? He would be a little displeased over your actions right now."
"He'll never believe anything from your mouth." Anne grumbled sitting up.
"Go ahead , and take that risk." Darren smile which caused Anne to quickly leave the room. For a moment all was quiet. "Listen .. Niles." His sigh was that of worry and dread.
"Forget it Darren, C.C., told me before our marriage." Niles hadn't exactly remained faithful after that one night they had made James. He had searched for all types of women to drive away her ghost. "I understand, but you better stay the hell away from my wife." He quickly added playfully causing Darren to laugh.
"Are you going to tell us what this is all about?" Maxwell sounded annoyed. "Or do we have to keep on guessing?"
"I could go into the long tale, but I don't think we have that kind of time. Did you ever wonder about Spanish gold?" Darren turned his head slightly towards Maxwell.
"Not really." Maxwell snickered pushing and pulling against his own ropes.
"Spanish gold comes at a high price, and we ran into a treasure that was beyond tainted." Darren turned towards Niles now. "I know, gold is gold.."
"Why would you care if it was tainted or not." Niles now sat still wanting to hear the short explanation.
"Because anything that comes from the Aztec or Inca empires, a common sense pirate knows not to deal with."
"Spanish treasure ships have left the new world for years now, and none of them have ever had problems.." Maxwell now stopped as well.
"That the English know about. Maxwell.Niles.. Some treasures are just too costly to steal even for thieves."
"It would seem that your old friends disagree with you." Niles mumbled looking towards the doorway.
"They always did have short tempers. I'm going to get you two out of here." Darren looked down towards the floor. "I know C.C. and Fran are already on their way."
"I would bloody well hope not." Max closed his eyes remembering her soft face. Maxwell blinked remembering Fran's nasal laughter.
"Fran can barely move without some pain." Niles spoke softly. "C.C. has problems focusing. They are hardly in any shape to face these pirates."
"They'll come, and they'll find you." Darren managed to free a hand. "As for myself. I'm going to try my ghost trick." He grinned freeing his other hand. "One last time."
1700-----Port Refuge-----
Niles held her tightly as he walked towards the small home. "Don't you dare disobey me tonight, Babcock." He growled playfully. "You're going to wear that ring!"
"That's all I'll be wearing tonight." C.C. purred as he opened the door.
"Are you sure that your up for this?" Niles sat her on the bed as C.C. pulled him towards her.
"Did you learn anything servant? I always get what I want." Her lips teased his neck softly causing him to moan. "I have wanted you.. Every night since that one. night.." Her hands running down his back pulling off his coat.
"C.C." He groaned pulling at the ties to her simple dress. "How I have dreamed of this day.. You have haunted me.." His lips kissed her exposed skin causing shivers in his wake. "Your soft skin.." He sucked at her now bare shoulder. "Your prefect breasts." He now pulled the dress completely from her body.
"Nil."
Virgin Islands---Present day---
C.C. stood up hearing the knock. "Come in!" She held her head trying to return to her dream. "Well what are you waiting for! Come in dammit!" She stood up quickly shocked to see David Butler standing before her. "Oh"
"I have a mind to ask what do you think you're doing?" David walked inside the cabin and C.C. closed the door.
"Going after my husband and friends." She was in no mood to deal with Niles's parents.. At least not yet. "Would you prefer your son remain in chains? At least this way you'll get what you want.. Me out of the way and dead." She snickered teasing him.
"I'm not here to fight you, Miss Babcock." David's mood was cold. "I'm here to offer you advice and help. Clearly you are in need of both."
"Clearly.." C.C. rolled her eyes at the man.
"I'm waiting for your words of wisdom, Mister Butler." C.C. picked up a cigar with a grin.
"You're a local legend around here I'm told." David grumbled noting C.C. unlady like appearance. "Don't embarrass my son."
C.C. rolled her eyes again puffing away. "Mister Butler, I was just going to run into those pirates, topless with guns blazing."
David's face started to turn three different shades of red. "I didn't say anything about Niles's marriage to you. I didn't highlight the fact I doubt James is his son."
C.C. walked toward the door. "Mister Jacobs!" She screamed with furry.
"Captain." Jacobs walked in to see an angry C.C.
"Take Mister Butler and get him the hell off this ship." C.C. glared at her friend who walked David out.
Fran walked behind Jacobs a few moments later. "I told you get that, hello Fran.." C.C. sighed pouring some whiskey out. "Need one?"
Fran took the metal cup sighing. "Somebody is going to go down." She grumbled taking a quick gulp.
"Well if I'm going to go, I would rather go down swinging." C.C. poured another drink in Fran's cup.
"Captains we are ready to set sail." Jacobs, stepped inside the quarters.
"You have your orders Mister Jaocbs." C.C. ,smiled at the older man. "Thank you."
"Captain?" He tilted his head lost at her kind remark.
"You have your orders Jacobs." C.C. smiled as Jacobs walked outside the cabin. "Shall we toast, Fran?"
"To revenge?" Fran smirked clicking C.C.'s cup. "Theirs' or ours?"
"That is the question isn't it." C.C. snickered playing with her wedding ring once again. "I hope Ghost can take care of them."
"Darren will get them out of there." Fran heard the soft knock at the door.
"Come on in Nat." C.C. grumbled as the giant Irish man, walked inside the room.
"Well! All the old comrades are here!" Nat walked over hugging Fran then taking C.C.'s hand kissing it. "Shall we go grab the others?"
"To hell and beyond Nat,To hell and beyond."
Atlantic Ocean----1690-----
"Bloody hell." Darren walked onto the deck with his pistols drawn. "It's quiet. Where is our welcoming?"
C.C. raised her head noticing Anne Bonney, Jack and Chandler walking around on the other side. "This ship should have at least a dozen men on deck." C.C. looked down noticing a human hand sticking out . "Darren.."
Darren shifted noticing the white hand sticking out of the wooden plank. "Gods of my father. I know.. This feeling." His face turned white looking at C.C. They opened the hatch noticing the hole in his back.
"Looks like the crew did our job for us.." Anne sounded gleeful. "Look at that!" She pointed toward the floor past the man. It was shinning like a sun's ray. "Jack! Chandler it's here!"
Darren pulled on Chandler's shoulder. "You know what this ship is?" Darren pulled on Chandler's shoulder again.
"A treasure of riches!" He was happy. In all of his wildest dreams this was beyond heaven.
"If the crew is all dead.. How in the hell did the ship manage to sail out this far?" C.C. felt the wind's breeze.
"Chandler. We have to get off this ship." Darren lowered his voice. "Hide this treasure away. It's not for us."
"What the hell are you talking about, Ghost?" Jack turned around hearing Chandler's words. "This is our retirement!"
Darren looked towards C.C. who nodded. "It will be our grave if we take this." He pulled back the hammers on both pistols. "I'm sorry. Jack."
Waterway--- Pirate Controlled---
Niles rubbed life back into his wrists. "So what's the plan?" he smiled at Darren who handed him a pendant. "What's this?"
"Take it to C.C. and Fran, they'll know what to do with it." Darren winked, carefully breaking a stool apart. "They'll find you. I never saw a better sailor than C.C. or Fran."
Maxwell grumbled,looking at Darren.
"Awww Sheffield, yer pretty good too. They just have a gift! It comes with fighting for your life all the time."
"I'm not leaving without you." Niles frowned.
"Niles, if you want to see yer wife again, you better leave without me. I'm more used to them than you." Darren handed over a piece of wood to Maxwell and Niles. "Each to his fate." He smiled taking Niles's hand. "Get to the row boat. I'll handle the rest."
"Water and food?" Maxwell felt his stomach tighten.
"I'll handle that too, Sir. Just get to the row boat." Darren slowly opened the cabin door.
C.C. leaned into the wind feeling the breeze push back her hair. There was nothing like it on earth the feel of that wind. She held on tightly to the boat looking out onto a never ending sea.
"Ya think she misses it,Captain?" Jacobs turned to Fran both had been watching C.C. with a bit of dread, and worry.
"I think Miss Babcock is like myself, Jacobs. Deeply in love with her husband, but in order to survive this needs to call upon a part of ourselves that we long buried." Fran sighed feeling the pain of her leg again. "Oy my mother would call all this a sign from God."
"God would have found better players to play these parts." C.C. snickered walking up towards the wheel. "I have this bad feeling about chasing old ghosts."
"What did Jack tell us?" Fran smirked as C.C. tried to read a map.
"Never leave an enemy behind, or they shall rise again." C.C. snicker throwing down the map, and lighting her cigar. "I quit these things after marrying Niles."
"I don't think he gave you much time for anything , but him." Fran teased winking. "Darren, will watch their backs C.C.
"Just like we watched Bonney`s, Jack's and Bart's?" C.C. raised her hand towards Fran. "I know what you are going to say. Save it for now."
"You still remember them cursing us, don't you?" Fran allowed Jacobs to take the wheel from her.
"I agreed with Darren then, and I still agree now. If you look at the facts, Fran."
"Facts nothing! Once we hid that stuff away ..I felt at peace." She crossed her arms looking at C.C.
"Yeah our three former friends have been driven by the desire for gold, and to get even at us for taking it from them."
"Fran .. Remember, a pirate has no friends." C.C. blew a few smoke rings in the air.
"What are we?" Fran smirked.
"SHIP AHOY!" David from the crows nest.
C.C. jumped downward onto the main deck. "Saved by the bell." Fran laughed walking down carefully.
"It be a life boat Captain..!"
"Ghost must have pulled that trick again." C.C. leaned over trying to see the ship. "Pull them in Mister, David..Who ever they are, make sure they're friendly."
"It's Niles and Max!" Fran's nasal whine had a spark of joy.
"Well Mister David, hurry up now let them join our little party!" C.C. hid her smile walking towards the Captain's cabin. Her eyes had started to waver once on deck.. Now they started to waver for her again.. In and out the world started to focus.
*"I can't see half the time worth a damm Doc." C.C. growled as Doc, examined her. "Once. the world went black."*
*"Captain, There is a lot of things we don't know about the brain. You suffered some kind of injury. This could one day go away.or"*
*"Or I could end up blind." *
She leaned on the wall hiding her eyes trying her best to relax. It would take Niles and Maxwell a few more minutes to be pulled on board. Niles didn't need to see her stressed about her eyesight. not now when she had him back.
"Are you okay sweetie?" Fran, held the door open.
"Maybe. We are cursed now, Fran." C.C. groaned softly. "If I'm going to go down. Please let me have one more go at it."
"HERE THEY COME CAPTAIN!" David called out as Fran reached out towards, C.C.
"Come on. Let me help you towards something worth fighting for." Fran's smile was bright. She had never questioned the damage to her leg. For Fran it had just happened.
Niles climbed quickly up the rope. The feel of friendly hands pulling him towards the deck was joyous. It took him only moments to spot her. The golden hair he loved shining in the sun. C.C. had put on a uniform again. This was the woman he fell in love with. Hell he loved anything about her, even the fights.
He held her small waist tightly. "Thank god." C.C. whispered in his ear causing him to blush. "Don't ever do that to me again."
"You look beautiful." He leaned back touching her cheek. They both blushed noticing the crew watching both couples.
"What are you seadogs looking at?" C.C. snarled. "I'm sure Ghost is needing our help."
"C.C." Niles voice became soft and bitter.
"Yes?" Niles was leading her towards the cabin while Maxwell was quietly pushing Fran towards it as well.
Niles closed the door, looking at the two women. "He didn't survive."
"Yeah right.. Was he shot?" C.C. snickered looking towards Fran.
"No. How in the yell did you know?" Maxwell blinked pulling Fran onto his lap as he took a seat.
"I didn't think he had any more ghost tricks up his sleeve." Fran eyed C.C. who shrugged.
"Well gentlemen. Care to tell me what happened?" C.C. poured everyone a drink expecting a long story.
She had never looked more beautiful to him. Niles played with his cup as Maxwell and Fran made good their escape from the cabin. C.C. called over Jacobs, and sent him on his way. Closing the door slowly she leaned against it looking at him across the dimly lit cabin.
"Come here." Niles felt his voice cracking softly. At times he had been fearful of only one fact.-Never seeing her again. She walked over slowly , and he pulled her down onto his lap. "Woman! From what I understand you gave up a fortune for honor." His hand brushed her cheeks. He had wanted to engage her in some verbal combat to make sure his worries were unjustified, but his hand stopped after feeling her wet tears. "C.C. What's wrong?"
"Love me, don't talk , and love me." Her lips came down on his in a hurry. He felt the lustful passion behind her kiss, and the deep fear. Niles understood without even asking her. Captain Babcock the pirate didn't show fear to anyone, and it remained inside her until . Niles had come along Niles pushed the coat off her shoulders picking her up placing her on the bed. He wanted to worship every inch of her skin slowly removing a peasant tunic to reveal her breasts.
"God..I love you so much." He kissed each of her ribs softly knowing full well that during her marriage to Chandler he had broken each one at one point. He stopped for just a moment leaning up pulling off his own shirt grabbing her boots pulling them off. Their gazes locked in a heated stare. "You don't have to face them.." Niles moved on top of her as C.C. pulled on his trousers.
"Shhh." She licked at his neck feeling his unshaven face now brush across her cheek. His hands found her more than ready for him as he removed her leggings leaving her naked under him. He wouldn't enter her not just yet. He softly brushed away her searching hands looking to undo him. Her hands kept on searching he had to grab both holding them down. He released a small playful growl towards her.
"You better behave Babcock, or I'll tell my wife." His smile melted her heart, and she managed a playful giggle.
"I'll keep that in mind." C.C. managed to free her hands reaching to remove his remaining clothing. "I love you.." her eyes twinkle with desire and longing. Niles could no longer hold back his longing , and he quickly entered her. C.C. felt herself moan, but she never gave in to him totally. Every time Niles would thrust inside her, C.C. would thrust back. Their lovemaking became another form of battle. His hands went down towards her rear, and for a moment he held her still...inside him.
"Never doubt you are loved." He was barely able to speak.
C.C. laughed kissing him deeply. "Never a doubt." She whispered softly in his ear. Either one of them could keep up this maddening pace forever. Neither one of them could hold back their moans, and they both reached their release at the same time. Niles rolled over onto his back taking her with him.
Niles let out a soft sigh. "I'm never leaving you again for months on end!" His hand wandered up ,and down her spine. "C.C.? Chastity? Is everything okay?" *Normally she would make a comment, or a joke.*
"I'm alright." She leaned upward looking back down into his eyes. "You silly servant." Her hand hands softly touching his chest.
"Now trollop be careful if you want to play games with me!" His hand reached downward to playfully spank her.
"Niles!" She laughed tossing her shoulder length hair back. "You are soooooo bad."
C.C. and Niles both snuggled down to sleep. The ship carefully rose and fell. The soft rocking could put anyone to sleep. C.C. stood over a sleeping Niles touching his hair. "I'll be back soon. I promise." She leaned over kissing his cheek. C.C. turned grabbing her belt with her rapier.
On the deck she found Fran watching the water. "Funny finding you here Miss Babcock." Fran, smiled as C.C. joined her.
"Miss Fine." C.C. smirked looking over the ship's rail. "Is the crew busy?"
"Yeppers." Fran looked upward. "I never thought they would be this loyal."
"Neither did I." C.C. smiled taking her friend's hand. "To the end then?"
"To the end." Fran nodded.
The loud banging at his door ,was not the wake up call he had been hoping for. Niles shifted trying to feel for C.C. He sighed finding her side empty. "Just a moment." He groaned pulling on his pants.
He opened the doorway to a worried Maxwell who scanned the cabin like a madman. "C.C.'s not here either?"
"I'm sure she's on deck.. Sir? What do you mean C.C.'s not here either?" Niles gulped remembering C.C.'s odd mood last night.
Nat ran into the room followed by Jacobs. "Maxwell the rowboat you and Niles came in is missing."
Niles swore out loud. "They are going after them alone??" Niles threw up his hands. "That is madness."
"They want to protect us from the curse." Jacobs sat down. "We are already looking for them, sirs. I have us heading towards the Waterway now."
"Good man, Jacobs. Thank you.." Maxwell sighed sitting down. "We should be able to overtake them hopefully."
"They are both skilled sailors, and Darren taught them every trick of the trade." Nat rubbed his chin. "How powerful can this curse be that has them all connected in such a way?"
"Look what has happened to them since they pushed Bonney, Jack, and Bart off that ship. You tell me, Nat if their isn't a curse." Jacobs grumbled walking out the door.
"Yeah, but. " Nat shook his head. "Fran was the one that told me curses only have power if you believe in them." He looked towards Maxwell and Niles.
"Maybe they didn't start believing until.." Maxwell's jaw dropped , and he looked towards Niles.
"Until an explosion started to rob them of their gifts. Bloody hell sir that shouldn't matter!" Niles, pulled on his shirt.
"You tell me if it shouldn't matter?" Nat took a bottle uncorking it. "In port they are seen as heroes, but have either one of you heard the whispers behind their backs?"
"No." Niles and Maxwell said at the same time.
"That those injuries forced them to give up the sea, and it wasn't a choice."
"That's crazy, Nat! C.C. and Fran had started to build a business! I was helping C.C. the other day with some figures." Maxwell sat down rubbing his temples.
"Well either way we'll find them." Nat poured whiskey in an empty cup.
The dark tavern was filled with pirate scum. The Waterway was called that ,because of it's location between the Jamaica and North America. The tavern was placed on a small island.
"Hasn't changed much." Fran tried to keep her voice soft. Fran held her cane tightly trying to look less than the cripple she felt.
"Rats always like to gather in one place, and it doesn't surprise me." C.C.'s eyes focused trying to get a feel of the room. "You up for trouble?"
"Aren't we already in.." Fran sighed watching C.C. pulled her pistol out, and fire it into the air.
Pirates turned around in their seats eyeing the two women. "Hello, Hello boys! Remember us?" C.C.'s voice had a purring sound to it.
"Now I understand how Maxwell feels when I try." Fran was rubbing her own temples as a large man wrapped his arms around her waist.
"FRANNIE! C.C.!" Both women felt crushed by the bear of a man. His Spanish accent was thicker than most.
"Ricardo" Fran couldn't help but give out a girlish giggle. "I'm a married woman now you can't be man handling me that way."
Ricardo's deep green eyes turned on C.C. like a hawk turns on it's prey. "Don't tell me you're a married woman as well?. "
"I always WAS.." C.C. rolled her eyes showing off Niles's ring.
"You never had one of those before." He kissed her hand softly. "Chandler was a man of little taste."
"I never had a real marriage that counted before, and Ricardo, this one matters to me." She growled at him.
"Okay I get the message. Why are you two even here?" Ricardo sighed feeling like his game was already over.
"Looking for Anne Bonney, Jack, Chandler and:" C.C. pulled out a cigar feeling the need to light up.
"Bart?" Ricardo lit C.C.'s cigar with a grin. "They are here alright on the other side of the island. They came here last night to burry someone in the graveyard." C.C. turned towards Fran whose jaw dropped.
"Ghost.." Fran grumbled looking at C.C.
"This better be the last time I have to do something so creepy. I'll kill the man myself ." C.C. got up taking Ricardo's hand "Can you show me, Rick?"
"Now it's Rick?" He waves a mocking finger towards her. C.C. felt her eyes roll in the back of her head as she reached out grabbed his waving finger and twisted his arm behind his back.
"Please?" She growled and snapped her teeth at his ear.
"Alright! Alright!" He grumbled as C.C. released his arm. "Always so forceful! I heard a rumor that you were going blind?"
"I'm full of surprises." She smirked as Fran and C.C. both followed him out.
C.C. rolled her eyes at the simple grave stone. "Pain in the arse?" She repeated the words on the grave marker. "Nice way to describe him."
"Let's get to digging." Fran put down her cane grabbing a grave digger's shovel.
"You both haven't changed! You're both still nuts! Digging up a man's grave." He walked away shaking his head.
"Remind me to tell ghost we have to find another way to solve problems." C.C. stopped a moment puffing away on her cigar. "Hopefully their won't be a next time."
"You think we are going to survive this?" Fran raised her eyebrow towards her friend while she kept on digging.
"Well, I might!" She smiled starting to shovel away the dig covering Darren's supposed gravesite.
"Gee thanks." Fran rolled her eyes and leaned down to rub her leg.
"How are those plates in your boot holding up." C.C. eyed Fran's crippled leg.
"I'm going to have to rest soon, C.C.if only for a while."
C.C. felt her shovel at last hit wood. "Seems like they didn't want to burry him too deeply."
"I got a feeling someone is helping us." Fran pulled on the coffin lid and jumped.
"It's about damm time." Darren grumbled taking another sip of his flask.
"I'm sorry every time we have to dig up your grave. I would be rich." C.C. snicker noticing Ricardo was turning pale. "Well Ricardo you wondered why he was named ghost!" C.C. waved her cigar around here's why.
"Well hello Ricardo!" Darren jumped up stretching. How are the Spanish treating you?"
"Well." Ricardo started and Fran fired her pistol in the air.
"Don't mind me, or Babcock here we just ran off from our husbands to end this!" Fran snarled, and C.C. managed to laugh.
"I didn't know you had it left in ya, Fine." C.C. smiled taking Darren's flask from him. "Where are they, Darren?"
"Small island chain north of here. Chandler seemed to have forgotten where we placed the Lion at." Darren climbed totally out of the grave smiling. "Course we did get him quite drunk after our run in with Anne and Jack."
"It's the only way to fight with Chandler." C.C. sighed, passing the flask back to Fran.
"Spoken like a woman with experience with it." Fran lifted the flask towards C.C.. "So should we go face them?"
"Why not! I think Maxwell and Niles will be close behind us. I doubt you could even lose them completely." Darren's eyes started to search the water.
"Ricardo we need a small favor." Fran walked up to him slowly with a cat like smile. "If you pleaseeee.."
Maxwell held onto the necklace he had given Fran for their wedding day. The gold chain felt cold and lifeless in his hands.
"They are going to be alright, Sir." Niles placed his hand on Max's shoulder.
"Niles do you remember what I was like when Sara died?" Maxwell turned to face the water once more.
Niles frowned recalling his friend's sadness. "I think Sara would be proud on how far you have come, sir."
"It will all be for nothing if I don't have her." His hands enclosed around the chain. "I know Niles, you don't have to tell me how ."
"Selfish you sound?" Niles gave a coy smirk. "I am sure Fran has told you the same thing, but I'm going to reveal something."
"What?" Maxwell turned once more to face Niles.
"C.C. told me once before they had James and Eve. She and Fran had been searching for an honorable way to die."
"That's horrible." Maxwell made a face.
"Max, I don't agree with them running off, far from it." Niles let out a long sigh. "I do know that they will come back to us, and we will make sure that happens."
,
"Yes, but what kind of shape will they be in this time, old boy? What kind of shape?" Maxwell turned once more to face the sea.
*That is the question isn't it, sir? One I'm fearful to ask myself.* Nat waved Niles forward smiling.
"We will be at the Waterway in a few moments, and perhaps you better let Jacobs and me enter the tavern." Nat looked towards Maxwell with a silly grin.
"Meaning they can smell Royal Navy a mile away?" Niles laughed watching Nat's expression.
"I'm sorry Niles, but yes, they'll be able to figure out you're an officer."
"Alright, but be quick about it." Niles grumbled as Nat and Jacobs quickly prepared themselves for departing. "I hope too God we aren't to far behind them." Niles looked toward the heavens. Niles closed his eyes slowly.
*"For years I have felt torn into two. Since the day my father forced me to marry that rat." C.C. held him tight laying in their bed. "Not until you showed up at that ball did I start to believe in myself again."*
"Maybe we should have killed Chandler." Niles mumbled to himself ,as he walked towards the cabin.
Fran was slow to move onto the shore. "Thanks Rick!" She allowed the Spaniard to kiss her hand one last time.
"I feel guilty leaving you three here alone?" Ricardo frown looking back towards his ship.
"We won't be for much longer." Darren pulled on his cap.
"Good luck my lovely ladies, and Ghost." He gave a last wink having his crew row towards his ship and safety.
"They are here" Darren muttered towards C.C.
"Hiding no doubt." C.C. closed her eyes trying to force them to obey.
"Are the two of you up for this?" Darren looked over his shoulder.
"Shouldn't you have asked this question.. I don't know.. Before we came here?" C.C. growled helping Fran up the rocky cliff side.
"Ooo! Her fangs are already out!" Fran laughed. "Every dog has it's day Darren, and hopefully we can have one last go at it."
"Each to their fate?" Darren smirked.
"I have always hated that saying of yours." C.C. rolled her eyes. "Just like I have always hated the fact I could smell you a mile away Chandler."
Fran and Darren both stopped noticing the figure now present behind C.C. Chandler still wore a patch hiding the fact C.C. took his eye years ago. Now he looked different he seemed to have a half crazed look. "Turn around slowly."
"Or you'll do what?" She hissed, her hand on her rapier, but for some reason C.C. dropped it to her side.
"I could do many damaging things to that lovely body, Chastity."Chandler's voice now full of hate hissed back at his would-be wife.
"You never had the balls." C.C. turned with a quick movement pulled out her rapier with a huge grin. A turn and flash of steel on steel had Chandler disarmed.
"I.I ..thought you couldn't see."
"My son, who is a child, could do better. " She shook her head. "Why are you here? Your not that stupid!"
"You are going to die.. Do you know that?" Chandler grumbled holding his right hand.
"We all die sometimes, Chandler."Darren turned around, and he felt the sting of a woman's fist. Darren grumbled, his back in the sand. "Hello Anne, was wondering if One-Eye came alone."
"I would drop that rapier now Chastity before you hurt yourself." Anne raised her sword towards Fran's throat. "I would hate to hurt something so pretty, even if she's crippled."
"Fran?" C.C. eyed her friend.
"Chastity?" Fran snickered back still waiting.
"Are you going?" C.C. let her words hang in the air as she noticed Fran at last reacted. Fran's hands shiftly rose up to cross rapier's with Anne Bonney.
"Shall we dance?" Fran relaxed her stance looking into Anne's green eyes.
"I can beat any cripple." Anne grumbled. "Stabbed anyone else in the back, Frannie?"
"Give me some time.Oy vey! It could be you next!"
Darren stood up quickly whipping out his own rapier and dagger to face two blades poking him. "Jack and Bart! Well, well the gangs all here!"
"This isn't the proper setting for these exchanges." Bart smiled .
"Let me guess you want to have this exchange near the hidden ship?"
"It all seems so surreal and I wasn't even there when it happened." Nat grumbled looking past the wheel.
"Why didn't they take the treasure, Nat?" Niles had an idea. He had heard C.C. speak things with too high of a price.
"Captain Fine talked about it.. Francine I think was haunted by it most of all. You see she and Anne had been close once. "Nat shifted pushing the Hawk's Nest to it's limits. Maxwell leaned in listening.
"You become a pirate ,not because of gold and glory like most people think." Nat saw Niles's smile. "You become a pirate for freedom. You don't wish to be tied to a crown or country."
"No glory there, Nat?" Jacobs snickered eating an apple. "This coming from a man who broke his leg first time out with Captain Fine."
"Jacobs." Nat grumbled taking off his tricorn hat hitting him with it.
"Why did they allow themselves to become pirates?" Niles took the apple that Jacobs had offered him.
"It was the only way they could be free. When they all saw the gold before them, and the price that was paid for it." Nat turned the wheel over to Jacobs.
"Why not let the others take it?" Maxwell asked softly.
"It would have destroyed Anne, Jack and Bart. I think Ghost foresaw the end of piracy. Chandler would return to New York a richer man."
"and Fran and C.C. would have remained trapped." Niles mumbled softly eyeing Nat.
"Anne would have returned home.. To a dull life with Jack.. Jack isn't a nice man, he needs the outlet of being a pirate."Nat sat down on the deck looking up at Niles and Maxwell. "I know what I say doesn't make sense, but Captain Darren did what he had to do."
"SHIP AHOY!" The crows nest rang out with cries from it's watcher and bells.
Nat jumped up quickly following Maxwell and Niles to the deck. "Who is it."
"DAMMIT ALL! Load the cannons just in case!" Nat called down the deck.
"WHO IS IT?.." Niles roared.
"It's Bart's ship! They might block us from getting to the others."
"Bloody Hell.." Maxwell groaned, rubbing his temples.
C.C. walked slowly down the cavern. "Get your hand off me Jack, or I promise you, you'll loose it." She stopped until the wild pirate removed his hand from her shoulder.
"Do you miss the touch of a real man that much?" Anne growled towards C.C.
"I don't know, touch me, and I'll find out!" C.C. laughed as Anne threaten to draw her rapier.
"This agreement better end soon." Jack grumbled eyeing Darren.
"It will end soon alright. It's a pity you have little vision Jack, or you would see I'm right."
"Isn't Babcock here the one with little vision?" Jack reached out to push on her shoulder again .
"I'm not kidding Jack." C.C. hissed. "Ask One-eye here if he enjoys missing a part of his body- and I'm not talking his eye."
"Your quiet, Bart." Darren whispered softly towards the small man.
"Just keep moving." Bart hissed and winked towards Darren. "Ghosts often have a habit of becoming transparent. I hope you realize that."
"What are you telling him, Bart?" Anne yelled causing the cave to echo.
"Nothing, Bonney are you worried I might get a larger cut?" Bart hissed threatening to face Bonney with his rapier.
"OY.,and they always made fun of my voice." Fran snickered to herself. She was being carried by Darren to relieve pressure on her leg.
"I personally always have liked your accent. Reminds me of New York." Darren smiled looking at the dark headed woman in his arms. "You think Maxwell would kill me right now?"
"He would give it serious thought." Fran smirked, and noticed they were reaching the last series of steps. "I thought or hoped this thing would be buried forever."
"You and me both Fran. You and me both." Darren gently placed her on her feet once more. "Now. Ladies?" He waved C.C. to his side. "You four wanted revenge for us taking this treasure from you. Shall we end this now?"
The cave floor had a yellowish tint to it. The room felt of a strange heat. Every once in a while you had the hint of color..a green there.a red there White.
"At last.." Jack smiled looking the cave over. "Lets finish this now!" He pulled out his long Rapier aiming it towards Ghost. "To the end. this time you'll not rise from the grave I put you in."
"Can the cripple still dance?" Anne smirked eyeing Fran.
"Every dog has his or her day,and yes . I have one more day left in me.. And I saved you the last dance." Fran hissed pulling out her custom made rapier and small dagger.
"Ahhh I get to dance with two men. " C.C. felt Chandler's blade and Bart's on hers. "Well at least one real man. I think." She smiled, and Bart managed to laugh.
"To the end then." Chandler went after his former wife with rage, while strangely Bart hid in the shadows. The strange clicking and turning of rapiers filled the room...echoing over and over again.
"Get ready, boys. Let them fire the first shot!" Nat walked past some of the men on ship. Everyone had rifle's ready the cannon crews down deck prepared for the command. Maxwell and Niles both ready pistols.
"What the hell?" Jacobs blinked hearing the cat calls coming from Bart's ship. "Captain?" he looked towards Nat.
"Nat Nat Nat.Nat.." Bart's ship rang out as every free man called out.
The ships meet floating side by side, as an object was tossed from Bart's ship. "What the hell?" Jacobs moved quickly catching it. Opening his hand he saw a metal disk and a paper attached. The disk was crudely stuck. On one side you could clearly make out a ghost symbol. "I'll be dammed." Jacobs handed over the coin to Nat, and the paper to Niles.
"What does it mean?" Maxwell looked over Nat's shoulder.
"It means that Bart owes Ghost a favor, and is intending on using this event to pay him back." Nat laughed feeling the weight of the bronze coin in his hands.
Niles opened the map seeing the island before him drawn crudely on it. Niles noticed the x near the only mountain. "Max!" Niles pointed out the x on the map.
"I was wondering." A man from Bart's ship called over. "If you boy would like to join us in kicking Anne and Jack's crew ase!" The man wore a black tricorn hat with skull and crossbones emblazed on it.
"How can I refuse such a party?" Nat smile looking towards the man. "How do I know I can trust you?"
"Hell! We will go start the party! You follow in a bit." The man winked waving his hands for the crew to raise the sails.
"Are you going to follow him?" Maxwell was still readying himself. "You can't trust him!"
"If he starts the party I can." Nat smiled holding Darren's coin. "Here!" He placed a crude small firework in Niles's hand. "If you don't come back by rowboat you can use that!"
"Is that one of James and Eve's fireworks?" Niles raised his eyebrow looking at Nat.
"Yeah, well, maybe." Nat blushed handing Maxwell some extra ammo for their pistols.some food and water as well.
"Half the children in port have been playing with these things!" Maxwell hissed at Nat.
"Come on, Maxwell." Niles waved towards Jacob who lowered them to the water. "I'll remind you later to kick his arse, sir" Niles laughed watching Maxwell rub his temples. James and Eve had nearly burned down Fran and Maxwell's home using those fireworks.
C.C. danced around jumping up, and over a stone that had been as tall as her knees. "You swing like a girl!" C.C. hissed playfully, enjoying the combat.
"Stay still and die!" Chandler grumbled and howled. "WHERE THE HELL DID YOU GO BART?"
"Slow Jack, real slow.." Darren grumbled watching his former friend run after him.
"Bloody hell! Ghost you don't fight fair!" Jack had been trying to reach his dropped pistol for the last ten minutes, and Darren had been teasing him with it just keeping it out of his reach.
"Tsk, Tsk and you wanting to use that pistol on me, is fair?" Darren hissed trying to spot C.C. out of the corner of his eye.
Fran had made her way upstairs quickly. Leading Anne away from the treasure and her lover Jack, Fran rushed towards the sunlight. This wasn't a duel she could win easily, not with her crippled leg. Fran quickly moved as the wave of Anne's rapier passed before her.
"Not bad for a woman who's been.. Injured." Anne laughed teasing her former friend. "Pity Frannie, I was hoping you would be on our side."
"Listen to me, Anne. What would have happened if you had gained that treasure years ago?" Their duel reached the sunlight. The duel itself had become nothing more than a game for the two women.
"C.C.!" Darren called over towards his friend. "Plan h!"
"I know all your moves . You can't put anything past me!" Chandler hissed as C.C. jumped away from him.
"Really now? I think our whole marriage was about me putting things past you!" She snickered pulling out a cigar.
Jack, Darren and Chandler all stopped to notice what C.C. was using to light her cigar with. The small cannon ball shape bomb started to spark. "YOU'RE CRAZY BABCOCK!" Jack and Chandler both quickly ran upstairs as C.C. tossed the small object on the shinny yellow pile.
"Crazy."C.C. ran up next to Darren who laughed. "But I'm not stupid." The aftermath of the `bomb' was nothing more than a small pop. Darren and C.C. quickly headed up towards the outside.
"Now for the real thing." Darren tossed out a real bomb that shook the earth.
"You,You...." Chandler turned four different shades of red.
"Now tell me how you really feel about me?" C.C. waited for the curse word that finally came from his mouth. Darren's and C.C.'s eyes searched and finally saw Fran struggling to stay on her feet against Anne.
The flick of swords and the battles started again.
"You cost us everything!" Jack couldn't believe they had been tricked into leaving. "You're insane!"
C.C. flashed her rapier over and over again. Did she have the guts to kill this man? She once had felt some kind of love towards him until he had beaten it away one night before her fourteen birthday. She had started to doubt everything he had told her about the deal that went down with her father. The music of rapiers on rapiers echoed.
"It's over Frannie.." Anne had Fran, on her back. She was unable to move. Anne had kicked her legs out from under her causing renewed pain crippling her.
Anne lifted her rapier up to thrust her rapier deep inside her heart..and then. .... Anne blinked as her rapier flew out of her hands.
"That was never a way for a true lady to act my dear." Bart smiled he now stood guard over, Fran.
"Oy Vey!" Fran smiled.
C.C. blinked Chandler stood still for one moment, and the next he had a rapier sticking out of his chest. "You'll never.. Touch.. Nor hurt my friends and Family again." Niles leaned over Chandler's shoulder twisting it again.
Maxwell walked, having along with Darren tied Jack's hands behind his back. "Fran! Thank god!" He ran up hugging her pulling Fran into his arms. Are you alright my darling?"
"Now I am!" She purred softly.
Darren placed Jack next to Anne. "Bart.Bart.." Darren placed a hand on the `man's' shoulder. "Thank god my friend, that some things never change."
"Your just lucky I found that poor dead sap over there before these two did.." He pointed his rapier towards Chandler.
"You knew he was on our side all along?" Maxwell, Niles, C.C. and Fran all said at once.
"Was hopeful he was. One can be never sure."
C.C. leaned over a gasping Chandler lifting him up by his shirt. "I want to know something before you leave this earth. Did my father trade, or did you steal me?"
"Why.....Why.....Should I tell you?" Chandler coughed up more blood.
"Painful, isn't it?" C.C. pushed on his wound. She felt Niles standing over her shoulder. "I could make it more painful, or . You could take the easy way out like you always do."
"Sto.l..e. you.." Chandler groaned as C.C. let him fall heavily back onto the hard earth. "You.prom..ise..d.."
C.C. sighed standing before Niles kissing his lips softly. She pulled out one of his pistol's turned and fired it.
"What do we do with these two?" Bart grumbled watching Jack and Anne's glare at him.
"One drop of that treasure would have meant freedom for us." Anne groaned.
"So if you had a drop.. You'll have your full?" C.C. walked toward them slowly.
"Yes!" Anne hissed.
"You will remember were revenge leads, right?" Darren titled his head towards the fallen Chandler. "To an early grave."
"Right.." Anne and Jack grumbled at once.
C.C. pulled out two huge rubies throwing it at their feet.
"The only problem you'll have it getting off this island to use it." C.C. winked as Niles and Maxwell both tied them together.
1704... New York City.
The five of them had started up a successful shipping business they called Hawk's shipping. The merchant ships had a strange habit of getting past pirates, and other problems.
"Mrs. Butler! Do you need some help with those figures?" Sylvia
Fine called out.
*I'm never getting away from that annoying accent. EVER..* Fran had found her family within a few months of their New York arrival. C.C. had been too fearful to even step near the Babcock mansion. "No I'm fine. I don't need anyone to read them off to me right now. Could you take Emily for me?" C.C. wanted to giggle, her little girl just one year old was holding tightly onto her leg.
"Sure! Come on, sweetie!"
C.C. sighed she had been unable to see her little girl's face. Her eyesight had faded, but didn't leave her. She could still get around on her own at least. James and Jason both off at a new private school, Niles had left to gather up her boys.
"Pardon me?" C.C. froze hearing that voice.."I'm looking for someone, and was wondering if you could help?"
"Who are you looking for?" She stood still her back facing the voice. Her eyes closed trying to picture what he might look like now. He had to be an elderly man now.
"I'm looking for Chastity Claire Babcock. Or she used to be called that. My detectives said a woman working here might be her." His voice sounded broken as C.C. felt her own tears burn her own eyes.
"Why would they think that?" Her voice was soft as she heard the laughter of younger voices. Jason ran in grabbing his mother's legs playfully.
"I win. I win!" He giggled as C.C. touched his hair.
"Dad?" James stopped noticing the man talking to C.C. "Is that him? " He whispered lower to his father.
"I think.. So."
"You are her? Kitten?" Stuart's couldn't hold back his sobs and C.C. closed her eyes. She turned to face him with a turn of her heel.
"I was many things, but yes.. I'm still your daughter." She smiled as Stuart ran up to hug her waist."
"C.C.. My god.. Kitten.." His voice broke and Fran leaned out with her mother watching the event.
"You did this?" Her mother turn to eye Fran.
"Everyone needs family. C.C. was mine for the longest time, Ma. I know she always wondered about her own and what happened. She wasn't willing to face them on her own..so Niles and I took out an newspaper ad."
"Yenta." Sylvia smirked.
"What's that grandma?" Eve laughed watching the event with, William.
"I'll tell you sometime when yer Ma and Pa are needing some time alone." Syliva smiled holding little Emily and leading her two grandchildren away.
"The sea might not want to let us go.. , but we have a home Miss Babcock and families again.. Enjoy it.." Fran smiled as Maxwell walked up to hug his wife from behind.
