Brighton came home from school one day with a homework assignment from his English teacher to write a love story. He didn’t have a clue about love stories so he was going to ask Fran to help him. He entered the living room to find Fran and Grace watching The Young and the Restless. Brighton interrupted her concentration to the show to ask for help. She found it hard to tear herself away but she could always catch up to what was going on. Brighton followed Fran into the kitchen and the both sat at the table and began to brainstorm ideas. They came up with a Cinderella and Price Charming storyline but then decided that it was too fairy tale related. Then they came up with the High-School sweet hearts story but realized that it was too commercial. After brainstorming for about an hour and all out of ideas, Max walks into the kitchen with his empty tea pot searching for Niles. Fran does not hesitate at all to ask for his help. So Max joins Brighton and Fran at the table. After about 20 minutes with Max’s help they come up with the idea to base the story on Lester and Jocelyn (Max’s sister and her chauffer). Max and Fran keeping going on and on about them being of different classes and coming from different backgrounds and the love that they had for each other. Brighton was having a hard time keeping up with writing everything down. But after a few minutes he realized that Fran and Max were getting a bit side-tracked, no, majorly sidetracked. They were not talking about Lester and Jocelyn anymore, they were talking about the love they had for each other. So Brighton got up and left them alone with more then enough material to write the story. Max and Fran were looking into each others eyes and kept describing the love that "Lester and Jocelyn" had, rambling on and on until they were interrupted by Niles entering the kitchen to start preparing dinner. Fran and Max stopped talking instantly. Max rose from his chair and left the kitchen quite fast. While Fran on the other hand just sat in the chair and realized what she had just practically confessed her love to Max, Max thinking the same thing. Both of them were so concerned about what they had said, they didn’t even think about what the other person had said because if they did, they would have realized that they both loved each other. Max and Fran tried their best to forget about the whole thing. About 2 weeks after that Fran and Max were talking, and Fran was seated on her usual corner on Max’s desk when the phone rang. It was Brighton’s teacher calling to tell him that Brighton’s love story was the beast out of the whole class and wanted to make a play based on it. She also asked Max to produce it and he agreed since he could relate to the story. Fran could not help but to overhear the conversation. When Max hung up the phone there was a awkward silence until Fran made up a silly excuse and left. Max followed her to the door and shut it and began pacing back and forth thinking of what happened the day the story was written. Fran went up to her room and did the very same thing. Maxwell began working on the play. Every time they rehearsed a scene he couldn’t help but think of Fran. Finally opening night came. The whole family, including Fran was there seated in the front row. During the play Fran and Max both felt something between them, like a special connection to the characters in the play and some how they both knew how they felt about each other without saying anything. They could just feel it in their heart. After that night, their love began to grow stronger and stronger still with no one saying anything. Finally a few days after the play he just couldn’t hold it in any longer, so he called Fran down to his office and closed the door and sat her down and finally muttered those three little words, I Love You, to Fran. Fran couldn’t help but to say it back and they just sat there for a while and cuddled for a while, intending to tell the family later, both feeling relived that everything was now out in the open.
