Hey guys! Miss me? ;P This is my new Fic. It's a continuation, well, sort of a continuation to "It's been a While". I hurried this Fic as you will see by the time difference. And, still, I hope you like it. DISCLAIMER: I don't own The Nanny (that's a shame). All these characters, except Rach and Rick and their baby, belong to Fran Drescher.

The New Life of Rachel Sheffield

by

Raquel
(angeluncovered@gmail.com)

Rachel was living with the Sheffield family in Manhattan.

Fran and Max got married two months after they moved in and all the family got together.

Maggie was 28, she divorced Felipe, with whom she had a daughter named Tracy. Now she was dating with a model named Michael. They looked perfect to each other.

Brighton was 25 years old. He got married with Serena. They were expecting a little boy and they lived only two blocks away from the mansion.

Niles and CC lived happy and were always bickering with each other.

Rach talked with her Portuguese friends and, thanks to B and Gracie, met new ones. She had a trust fund and was in a private school.

She was a great student but at the age of 17, something was missing.

One day, Rach woke up and went to the kitchen where Niles was.

Good morning Niles. – She greeted with a smile.

Good morning Miss Rachel…

Niles please. Rach is fine. – She didn’t like formalities, besides, Niles was one of her best friends. They got along from the beginning. – Niles, I’m tired.

Why don’t you go to bed? It’s still early.

No Niles, I’m not that tired. I don’t know…

Are you having some kind of trouble? – Niles asked.

No… Well, sort of. I can’t help but feel that something’s missing.

Rach, why don’t you talk with Fran?

I don’t want her to worry with me. Besides, she and dad are trying to conceive. It wouldn’t be good.

Listen pumpkin – She couldn’t help but smile when Niles called her that – believe me that, to Fran, conceiving a baby is not as much important as you. – The butler looked into her eyes. – Talk to her ok?

‘K Niles, I’ll do it. Happy? – Niles smiled. – Thank you Niles. You’re the best butler in the whole world. And the one who makes better chocolat cookies too. – Rach said, smirking. She said, taking a chocolat cookie. Niles stood in the kitchen laughing and shaking his head in spite of himself.

(Master Bedroom)

My god Max. That was… Incredible! – Fran’s breathing was still erratic from their recent lovemaking. Her blushed features put a victorious grin on Max’s face. He kissed his wife and propped himself on one elbow, looking at her.

Thank you darling. Later, we’ll top this. – His grin turned into a smile as Fran blushed again.

As she was about to respond, they heard a knock on the door.

Just a minute. – Max said as Fran went to the bathroom to pick their robes. Quickly dressed, Fran opened the door to reveal a smiling Rach in front of them.

Morning mom, morning dad. Can I come in please? I need to talk to you mom.

Morning sweetheart. – Max said, kissing his daughter’s cheek. – I’ll be in the kitchen with Niles.

So honey, what ya wanna talk about? – Fran asked, sitting on the bed, patting for Rach to sit too.

Mom, I’m seventeen, I have a very happy family, I have my friends in Portugal and here too, thank God. But still, I don’t know. I feel like I’m missing an important part of my life and I have no idea about what it is.

We love you too honey. – Fran hugged her daughter. – Hey, I have an idea. What about if you talk to Gracie? You know she’ll help you with anything.

You’re right mom. I’ll do that. Thank mom. I love you.

Love you too sweetie. Now let’s have some breakfast. You’re father is expecting us.

(One week later)

Who is it?

It’s me Grace. Open up.

Rach? Oh my God! It’s so good to see you sis. – Gracie, now with 22 years old and a degree in psychology, hugged her sister. Grace lived with her boyfriend, Christian. And they were very happy together. Now, Gracie knew why B always teased her. It felt so good having a younger sister.

Hey big sis. How are you? – Rach and Gracie were sisters and best friends.

Come on in. It’s freezing out there.

Rach smiled and hanged her jacket in the closet.

Do you want something?

No, I’m fine. Thanks. – Gracie smiled. Rach picked up her father’s English accent and she talked pretty good. Max was so proud.

Gracie I need to talk to you.

I’m listening sis.

You know me Grace, you know how my heart works, and you know how I think. You know my life. The thing is that I feel empty. Like if I’m missing an important part of my life. And I want to know what it is.

I understand. Is it your friends?

No, no. I still talk to my friends like if I was next to them.

Rach, what about boys?

I’m not dating.

Then maybe that’s it!

Rach got up.

No sis. How the bloody hell can that be? Oh, come on! I still need to finish school first and boys are not my priority at the moment.

Wait a minute. I’m just saying that, maybe, you need to relax and have fun a little bit more sis. You know you’re stressed as hell because of the final exams but you gotta open yourself a little more.

I can’t. I’m like dad; I can’t open myself. – Rach was sad.

Yeah, but you can’t be like dad forever. You’re smart, you’re beautiful, and you’re a great person. What do you want? You can’t stop in time, watching people move on with their lives. You need to find what’s missing and if that empty is caused by the lack of a boyfriend, then go out and find who he is.

Rach got up and paced in the living room. Grace let her words sink in.

Thanks Gracie. I’m off to school now.

Do you need a ride?

No, the limo is outside. Thanks sis. Love you.

I love you too.

They hugged and Rach left.

Thank you Geoffrey.

You’re welcome miss. Shall I pick you up at 5pm?

No Geoffrey. That’s not necessary, thank you.

Goodbye, miss.

Rach waved and left. As she was entering the school, someone bumped into her. She fell along with her books.

Hey! Watch where you’re going, will you?

I’m sorry. – A deep voice greeted her ears and she looked up. There, in front of her, was the most beautiful guy she’d ever seen. Dark short hair, bright green eyes, well developed chest and arms and a beautiful face. He was dressed with her school’s uniform.

The guy extended a hand to help her and Rach gladly accepted it.

I’m so sorry. Are you ok? – The guy asked looking into her brown eyes.

It’s ok. Nothing’s broken.

He helped her picking up her stuff.

-Are you new here? I’ve never seen you before. – Rach asked.

Yeah, I just moved in. I’m Richard Crash. My friends call me Rick. – Rick said, flashing a smile that could melt an iceberg.

Name’s Raquel Sheffield. You can call me Rachel or Rach. Your choice.

Sheffield? You mean, you’re the producer’s daughter?

Yes. Do you know him?

Of course I do. I’ve seen most of his plays. Are you really his daughter?

Yes, I am.

Is it true that he married his Nanny?

Fran? Yeah. She went to Portugal and I met her in school. She was a great teacher. Max flew to Portugal to bring her home. So he asked her to marry him and they adopted me.

Both walked into the school.

Portugal. Nice country. Nice culture. Amazing girls. – Rick said, winking. Rach smiled. – Tell me your story.

Rach told Rick the story of her life. What had happened to her father and how she got in the US. Rick was stunned.

That’s great. JC must love you a lot to give you a second chance.

Yeah, that’s what I thought when I woke up. But now, I live with the Sheffields and I’m really happy.

Rach smiled and Rick’s mouth went dry.

They went to their classroom when Rach asked if she could take a look at his schedule.

Look at this, we’re in the same class.

That’s awesome. – Rick smiled and Rach chuckled.

C’mon, we’re late.

They sat together and Rick was very interested in Rach’s life story. They shared a few good laughs and shy looks during classes.

Rach knew that it was going to be a hell of adventure.

(One week later)

Fran, Max and Rach went to a new restaurant near the mansion for dinner (on Max’s charge, of course).

When they got home, Fran and Max were a liiiiiittle bit happy.

This was the most amazing dinner I’ve ever had in my entire life.

I completely agree with that, mom.

Ditto.

Max pulled Fran closer to him.

Now young lady, off to bed. – Fran said, caressing her daughter’s hair.

Your mother is right. It’s twenty past midnight and you have to get up early.

Ok dad. Hey, I have an idea, how about if I don’t go to school tomorrow? – Rach teased her parents.

Yeah, right. Like if you would miss a day of school to be with Rick. – Fran stated.

Rach’s face went from teasing, to pure shock.

Ho… How did you know that, mom?

Oh puh-lea-se. Like if I didn’t knew my own daughter.

Rach’s face went to a deep shade of red.

Now, will you, my pumpkin’, go to your bed?

Yes, dad. G’night mom, g’night dad. Love you both.

Night sweetheart/ sweetie. Love you too.

Max and Fran stood there, watching their daughter. Max turned to Fran and gave her a kiss. Then, they went to their bedroom, where Max closed and locked the door.

(Two weeks later)

Rach and Rick were getting close to each other, and Rick liked her so he got the guts and went to her to talk.

Hey Rach!

Hi Rick!

Listen, I was wondering if you would like to go out with me tomorrow night. Dinner and Movies. What do you think?

Hmmm… I’m in. Let me call my dad and I’ll text you later, ‘k?

Great. Tomorrow, I’ll pick you up at 7h30pm. Be ready.

After the invitation, they went to the classroom, not paying too much attention to the teacher, but looking at each other.

(Next day; 7h20pm)

Fran and Max were in the couch, cuddling and kissing when they heard a voice.

Can you tell me how do I look?

They broke the kiss and looked up.

Rach was wearing white shirt that showed some cleavage, black jeans that hugged her legs, making them look longer, and a black jacket. Her hair was long and flat and she wore light make up. She was wearing a heart-shaped necklace and matching earrings. She was beautiful.

Fran was smiling and observing how her daughter had picked up her style so fast. Max was speechless.

Niles entered in the living room and looked at Rach.

WOW! Oh, Rach, if I wasn’t already married…

CC followed her husband and heard the last part of Niles’ speech.

She slapped him in the chest and looked at Rach.

Niles is right, Rach. You really are beautiful.

Thanks CC and thank you Niles. – Rach said, blushing. She looked at her parents who were open-mouthed and teased them – At least someone compliments me.

I’m sorry sweetheart – Max chuckled trying to find the best way to compliment his daughter – it’s just that you’re so WOW, like Niles said.

The phone ringed and while Rach descended the stair in a “Fran way”, Niles picked up the phone.

Max turned to his wife and whispered in her ear.

She’s really your daughter, you know that?

Fran could only smile.

Rachel, Rick said he was going to be a little late but he’s coming to get you.

Thanks Niles.

Niles and CC went to the kitchen to “discuss” something, and Max found the opportunity to interrogate his daughter.

So, sweetheart, tell me who is this Rick?

Well dad, he’s my best friend in school and he’s in my class. He lives with his father because his mother died when he was 6 and his father his one of your backers. Mr. Crash, you know him, right?

Of course I know him, he’s the one who’s gong to invest on my new play.

Yes, that’s him. Rick asked me to go on a date with him, just dinner and movies. So, you have nothing to worry about dad.

Is he cute? – Fran couldn’t resist and by the look on her daughter’s face when she talked about him, she was sure that Rach felt something about him.

You’ll get your answer when you see him mom. – Rach said, winking.

Just then someone knocked on the door and Fran got out of the couch to open it. When Fran opened the door, she revealed to her daughter a sexy as hell, smiling Rick.

Hi Rach. Wow, you look beautiful.

Rach took a few seconds to maintain her posture. Ricky was dressed with a black shirt, white jacket and blue jeans. He hadn’t shaved yet and his eyes were sparkling.

Thanks Rick, - Rach didn’t recognized her voice and received a chuckle from Fran. - You look handsome too. Come on in, I want you to meet my parents.

Thanks. – Rick extended his hand to Max. – Mr. Sheffield, it’s such a pleasure to meet you. My name is Richard Crash.

Hello Rick. I know your father and I’ve heard a lot about you too. Pleasure to meet you.

Hi Rick, I’m Fran, Rach’s mother. Pleasure to meet you.

Mrs. Sheffield, it’s a pleasure to meet you too. I must say that your daughter must have gained her beauty from you.

Thank Rick.

So, Rick how is your father?

My dad’s all right. He approved your new play and he wants desperately t invest in it. But you didn’t heard it from me, Mr. Sheffield.

I must say that your father taught you well, Rick.

Thanks Mr. Sheffield.

Now you guys may go. Have fun. – Fran said putting her right arm across her husband’s mid-section.

Yes, we need to go now Rach. Good bye Mr and Mrs Sheffield. I’ll bring her home soon.

By mom, bye dad. Love you.

We love you too Rach.

Rick extended his arm to Rach.

Shall we?

We shall.

And they left the mansion.

After 30 seconds of silence and still looking at the door, Max said.

Did you noticed how their eyes sparkled?

Fran turned to her husband who seemed concerned.

She led him to the couch where they sat.

Yeah, I noticed, but why are you asking?

That sparkle is the same sparkle when I look at you.

Max, that’s so sweet.

Yes, but that’s what is been scaring me.

Why honey?

Because I’ve hurt you before when I was afraid of commitment, I was afraid of our undenying love and now I’m afraid that Rick does the same with Rach.

Fran caressed her husband’s face. She knew that that sparkle meant “love and troubles”.

That’s not going to happen with our daughter. She has a heart of gold but she has too the strength of a lion and the mentality of an eagle. She know what’s going on and she’s not afraid, neither is Rick. They’re going to make it, honey. You have to believe in that. Love is stronger than anything. You know that.

I hope you’re right. I love you Fran.

I love you too Max. Now, I’m going to show you how much.

Lead the way, Mrs. Sheffield.

I can’t believe you did that! – Rach and Ricky were on their way to the movies and they were sharing experiences and laughing.

I’m telling you. I was 7, I threw the paper to the board and it was glued there. My teacher was writing and she jumped and screamed. We laughed so hard because of it.

That’s gross but funny.

Yeah, the teacher felt the same, without the funny part.

They went to the movies and watched Madagascar 2 and their ribs hurt from laughing so hard.

When the movie finished they went for a walk at the park.

My God, this movie is awesome. I love Melman. – Rach was still laughing.

I love you. – Rick said.

They froze. Rick was not prepared to say it, but he couldn’t stop what he was feeling. Rach stood still, looking at him with her eyes open wide.

What? – She asked, not believing what she had heard.

I… - Rick sighed and looked into her eyes, showing that he meant every word he said. – I love you, Rach.

I… I don’t know what to say. – Rach was in shock.

Rick grabbed her arms gently and brought her close to him. He looked again into her eyes, almost as if he was seeing her soul.

Rach, I know it seems crazy but you’ve been my best friend since that day at school. You’ve been by my side every time I needed help and you are amazing. You are a great person and you have to believe it when I say that I love you.

Rick let his words sink in.

Rach was confused. She didn’t felt empty anymore with Rick by her side. She thought about him all the time and Fran even noticed a change on her. It was true that Rick changed her and her heart did flip flops when he was around her.

Rach, please, say something. – Rick brought her out of her trance.

I… - Rach was speechless, so she grabbed his head and pulled him to a kiss.

Rick responded to the most passionate kiss of his life.

Rach put what she felt for him in that kiss. She knew that she was in love with him, but she was not ready to say those three words yet.

Rick deepened the kiss. He loved everything about her. Her smile, her intelligence, her looks, her kisses, the way she responded to him, everything. He was two years older than her and he had met love once in his life but it didn’t felt same he felt with Rach. He believed that this was really the forever kind love. He was ready to share everything with her and he was ready to love her.

Rach broke the kiss and looked into the green eyes she loved.

Rick, it’s complicated. I can’t tell you that I don’t love you because it would be a lie, but I’m not ready to say what I feel about you know. I just ask you to be patient with me, ok?

Hey, don’t worry. I’ll wait for you because I know that you won’t let me wait forever. And I’m incapable to do anything that would hurt you Rach. You know that. So, as you can see, there’s time for those three words.

I’m sorry Rick. – Rach said and looked at the floor.

For what?

For me being afraid of telling you that.

He gently lifted her chin so that he could look into her beautiful, warm, brown eyes.

Hey, I said that I’ll wait. And I won’t do anything that could hurt you, as I’ve told you before. You don’t have to be afraid.

Rach kissed him again.

C’mon, I’ll take you home now. – Rick said as he drew an arm around her waist and pulled her to him. They went back to mansion.

Max, have you seen my new Cosmo? – Fran asked her husband who was in the bathroom.

I think I’ve seen it in my office darling. – Max said has he walked out of the bathroom and followed his beautiful and sexy wife to the office.

I got it. – Fran said walking out of the office with her magazine in hand. She was surprised by her by her husband kissing her deeply at the living room. Breathlessly, Max broke the kiss and saw Rick and Rach talking outside.

Fran, who was seeing stars with that kiss, hugged her husband and saw the kids too.

Well, here we are. You’re safe now. – Rick said teasing Rach.

I don’t know, there’s still a lot of danger near me.

Rick got close to her, their noses almost touching, their eyes locked.

So, you think I’m dangerous? – Rick asked her in a deep voice.

Uh, you’re very dangerous. – Rach said, was that even her own voice?

Why is that? – Their breaths mingled and they were both breathing vey hard.

Because you know the way to my heart.

Rick’s lips touched hers slightly but that was all it took to Rach wrap her arms around him, pulling him close, deepening the kiss. Open mouthed kisses that could lead to craziness. It was driving them both insane.

The need for air caused them to break the kiss.

See you tomorrow?

Of course.

I love you, Rach.

I know Rick.

Green and brown eyes locked again and the world seemed small to the greatness of their feelings.

Rick kissed her again.

Good night Rach, sweet dreams.

Good night Rick.

And Rach opened the door.

Inside the mansion, two sets of eyes looked at her.

Hi mom, hi dad.

The silly smile across her beautiful face showed max what he feared the most. His daughter was in love.

Fran was happy. Her daughter had a hot boyfriend who really cared for her and he was a very nice guy. Bu the nagging feeling that something was not right didn’t leave her mind.

What? – Rach asked looking at her parents.

Nothing sweetie. – Fran couldn’t help, but smile.

So, sweetheart, how was your date?

It was great dad. – The dreamy look on Rach’s face let her parents wondering what had happen. – Tomorrow I’ll tell you everything. It’s late, I’m off to bed. G’night, love you.

We love you too sweetie. Good night. Sweet dreams.

Fran was in the kitchen fixing a little nosh when Rach came in. It was 3h30 am.

Hey mom.

Hi sweetie. What’cha doing here? Is something wrong?

No mom, I came to have a glass of water.

Rach filled her glass and sat by Fran’s side. Her hair was tousled and her eyes were sleepy but sparkling.

So sweetie, tell me how was your date with Rick.

It was awesome, mom. We went to a diner and then we left to the movies. We had so much fun. I couldn’t stop laughing.

Hmmm, so I take it went pretty well, uh?

Yeah, but…

But what?

Mom, something else happened. – Rach bit her lip.

You know you can tell me everything sweetie.

Well, we were talking about the movie when Rick told me he loved me. – The last part of her confession was almost a whisper but Fran heard it.

What? Oh my God, sweetie that’s great. – Fran hugged her daughter.

Yeah it is, but…

But? A guy like Rick tells you he loves you and theres’ a “but”?

Mom, I think that I’m like dad.

In what way?

In the commitment thing.

No! – Fran’s mouth opened wide. – You didn’t take it back, did you?

No, mom. Geesh, why do you always assume the worst?

Thank God. Than, what’s wrong?

I didn’t say it.

Why not?

Because, I don’t know. I know I love him but I’m not ready to say it yet.

Oh God, you’ll never get married!

Mom! It’s just that I’ve never experienced something like this. I don’t know what am I supposed to do.

Hey, I felt the same thing when I met your father but I realised that I hadn’t known love before I met him. And what I experienced with him was incredible. And still is. You just got to let yourself go.

You think so mom? Because I don’t want to be hurt and I don’t want to hurt Rick either. He means too much to me.

I know honey, but I have a feeling that Rick is the one for you and you’ll be very happy together. He loves you, Rach. A guy like him is very hard to find.

I know mom. – Rach yawned and hugged her mother.

Now, go to sleep. You need it.

Thanks mom. I love you.

I love you too sweetie. Oh, I almost forgot.

What, mom?

Your father is worried about you.

Why?

Because of you and Rick. He’s afraid that Rick may hurt you.

Rach smiled. Max was unique and even if there was a guy like him, it wouldn’t be the same.

Tomorrow morning I’ll talk to him. Good night mom.

Good night sweetie. Love you.

Good morning dad. – Rach entered her father’s office while he was working.

Good morning Rach. How did you sleep?

Very well, thanks dad. Listen dad, I need to talk to you.

Ok, about what?

About me and Rick.

Max took off his glasses and tried to relax on his chair.

Rach bit her lip nervously like Fran used to do.

What’s happening between the two of you?

Well, you see day, he told me on little thing when we left the movies.

What was that? – Max’s hands were trembling.

He told me he loved me. – Rach waited for her father’s reaction.

That was it! His daughter’s words made his heart stop. He wasn’t expecting this, truth be told. He was expecting a thing less harsh for his heart. His daughter was ready to open her wings and fly, looking for another one, just like her, to make her nest. She didn’t need his help anymore. His heart broke.

25 seconds without any sound. Silence filled the office and Rach was waiting for her father’s reaction. She looked at her father and saw his eyes watering, “That’s strange”, she thought.

- Dad, are you okay?

Max looked at her. Hi innocent daughter was dating a boy that told her he loved her. Did she felt the same?

Do you love him?

What?

Do you love Rick? He told you he loved you and what do you feel about him?

Rach sat on the desk, biting her lip.

Well, that’s the thing, dad. I love him but I didn’t say it yet.

A very confused Max asked her.

- Why not? Are you happy with him?

- Yeah, very happy but I’m not ready to say it yet.

Max could take advantage of his daughter’s situation but the most important thing to him was her happiness and he had to admit that Rick made Rach very happy. They were really meant to be, and what choice did he had left? None!

Go for it. – Max heard himself say. – Tell him how you feel. Now, before it’s too late.

You know what dad? I love you.

Yes, I know you do and I love you too. Come here and give me a hug.

Rach hugged her father and kissed his cheek.

Thank you dad.

You’re more than welcome, sweetheart.

With that, she left the office, packed her school stuff and went to the limo to meet Rick and tell him the truth about her feelings.

Max, when she left, placed his hands on his head and stayed like that for hours.

Hey Rick. – Rach waved at her boyfriend.

Hi beautiful. – Rick was holding something behind his back. – I got you something.

What? Why? It’s not my birthday yet.

I know, but I wanted to give you something.

Well, what is it?

Rick made a thoughtful face and grinned mischievously.

You need to give me a kiss first.

Rach smiled.

C’mon Rick, we’re already late for class.

Nah, you won’t get away so easily. Give me a kiss and I’ll give you your little present.

Rach tried to reach behind his back and wrapped her arms around his waist. She looked into his eyes – the green ones she loved the most – and reached for his lips.

Lips touched, mouths opened, tongues tasted and explored the other’s territory.

Rick broke the kiss, and they were both breathing heavily. He then, gave her the present.

It was a small box from Tiffany’s. Rach opened it.

Rick, I… - Rach was speechless, again. It was a beautiful necklace with two hearts. In each heart was an R written.

This is my gift for you. I love you Rach.

It’s beautiful I love it. Thank you so much Rick.

You’re welcome.

They shared a couple more kisses and went to their classroom.

Max, are you in here? – Fran was looking for her husband to share some amazing news but max was nowhere to be found. She closed the bedroom door and went to the office. Fran knocked on the door.

Max, honey? Can I come in? – She asked receiving a faint “yes” from the inside. Fran opened the door only to find a very drunk Max on the office.

Max! What were you thinking? – She couldn’t believe this.

Oh, for God’s sakes Fran, don’t you know what’s happening?

What’s the matter? You never drink this way. What’s upsetting you?

Oh Fran, go away, please.

Max, I’m your wife. I’m here for everything. What’s happening? Talk to me honey.

Our daughter is in love.

So?

Max was able to stand up at this. He was furious.

So?! Our daughter is in love with that boy and you say “So”?!

Max, calm down. What’s the matter with you? Why are you so upset?

Because he will break her heart. Boys in this age are only after on thing.

Stop worrying Max. I’ve told you that she’s going to be fine.

I’m her father. – Max screamed.

No you’re not! – Fran was getting mad, too. Max stood there, watching her, listening to her harsh words. Fran continued. – You act like her father, you’re her father figure, but you’re not her father. Damnit Max! You know that! We’re her foster parents. She is adopted! She was given a second chance, like I was, so you will let her find the real love and stop being like that about her.

Max’s eyes watered.

Geesh max. She loves you, she loves us. Do you really think that she’ll forget what we taught her?

Fran looked at him.

I don’t care. – Max’s voice was low when he spoke. – She’s my little girl.

Ok mistah, do whatever you want but you have to know one thing. – Fran started, her hands formed in fists on the desk. – Rach is going to be eighteen soon and she’s a hell of a fighter. I know her. I know what she suffered with her ex-boyfriend and she won’t do the same mistake again. Would it hurt you to trust her for once?

Fran said this and left the office. She went to the master bedroom and closed the door. Max got up and followed her.

When he entered the bedroom, Fran was laying on the bed, reading some magazine but not really paying attention to the articles.

I’m so sorry. – Max said. – It hurts me to see that our daughter is falling in love so quickly.

Fran looked into his moist green eyes and sighed.

Come here honey.

Max laid by her side and looked at her. Her warm brown eyes, so full of love, showed, once again, forgiveness. He never thought he could love her more than he already did.

Max, I love you, but sometimes you gotta trust me on this. Rach loves us and she will make us very proud of her, like we already are. Trust me. – Fran caressed his cheek and smiled warmly.

I know darling. I trust you and I love you. – Max leaned to kiss her. Their kiss was soft and gentle, reminding them that they hadn’t made love since two nights ago.

Fran broke the kiss.

Honey, I need to tell you something.

Yes, darling? – Max continued his caresses on her body and she sighed.

Max, the doctor called me today.

Hmm hmmm…

Yeah, I uh, mmmm… Max.

Fran. – Max continued to tease her senses.

Max, I’m serious, please.

I know you are darling.

Max, I’m…. Mmmm... I’m pregnant.

Max stopped his assaults on her body and looked at her.

Are you… Are you serious?

Yes honey, we’re going to have a baby.

Max embraced her and kissed her passionately.

I love you Mr. Sheffield.

I love you too Mrs. Sheffield, now let me show you how much.

- Damn, this homework sucks!

Rach and Rick were studying at a cafe near the mansion. Rick had great grades, just like Rach, but he didn’t enjoy doing the homework, especially Psychology homework.

Baby, are you sure you want to do this right now? – He asked her, his green eyes pleading to get out of there.

Rach looked at him and her knees grew weaker seeing his eyes sparkling like that.

We can finish this later. C’mon.

Thank God! – Ricky smiled and thanked her with a kiss.

They left the Diner and went to the Central Park where they sat beside a tree.

Rach’s back was resting on Rick’s chest and Rach’s arms were shivering because Rick was caressing them lovingly.

Rach’s heart spoke before her mind registered what she had said.

I love you Rick.

Almost immediately, Rick stopped his caresses and turned her to him.

He looked into her eyes and saw that it was true, so he pulled her close to him and gave her the sweetest kiss of her life.

Rach broke the kiss.

I really love you Rick and I want to spend my life with you.

I love you too Rach. About spending your life with me, I know that it could be too soon but, I don’t wanna take any chances. So, I’m going to ask you to be my wife.

Rach was speechless. Her eyes watered, she just couldn’t believe in this.

I mean, we will wait until we finish our degrees, and then the wedding takes place. We will live how we live now, do the same things we do now, nothing’s gonna change, but you will have a ring on your finger, missy. – Saying this, he kissed her finger and let his words sink in.

I… I, uh… - Rach tried to formulate a phrase about his proposal, but she couldn’t think. – Oh, what the hell.

She pulled him for a fantastic, mind-bending kiss.

They received some looks from people passing around the park, but they didn’t cared. They were in love and those who had never been in love, couldn’t understand them.

Yes, Rick. – Rach said after that kiss. Rick took a second or so to understand what she was talking about and when he figured it out, a beautiful smile that could melt any cold-hearted, showed to shine his beautiful face.

They got up, happiness filling their young hearts, and they went to the mansion, side by side, as they would always be.

(Epilogue; 10 years later)

Mommy, you look beautiful. – Jonah and Eve Sheffield sat on their parent’s bed, contemplating their mother.

Thank you my darlings. It was your daddy’s gift.

I like it. – Eve said. – Can I keep it?

Fran chuckled.

No sweetie, you can’t keep it yet.

Why not, mommy?

Because this dress still fits me and I like it.

And daddy likes it too.

DADDY!

Hello sweethearts. – Max bend to give a kiss to the twins. – Now, why don’t you go play into your room a little until your brother and sisters arrive?

YAY! – The twins got out of the master bedroom laughing and running to their room.

Hello my darling. – Max said, nuzzling on Fran’s ear. – You look more beautiful than ever.

Thanks honey, you’re not bad yourself.

They kissed lovingly.

So, do you have any news about our children?

Yes, as a matter of fact, I do. Brighton is on his way here with Serena and Jacob, Maggie is with Michael, Tracy and Kyra, Gracie is coming with Christian and Sebastian and I don’t know where Rach is.

That’s ok, I’m sure she’ll come. She wouldn’t miss any of this.

I love you Max.

I love you too Fran. Now let’s go downstairs, our children are arriving.

Soon after that, Maggie, Brighton and Gracie arrived with their family and all waited for Rach.

There was a knock on the door and Niles went to answer it.

He opened the door to reveal a couple passionately kissing.

Niles cleared his voice, causing the couple to break the kiss.

Hello Rach, Rick.

Hi Niles. How are you?

I’m fine thanks. And may I say that you’re beautiful than ever Rach.

Thank you Niles. Where are the others?

They’re out, in the garden, waiting for you. And where are the triplets?

Rach and Rick took a step and Niles could see little David, Keith and Randy hiding behind their parents, holding onto each other tightly.

The triplets had Rick’s looks and Rach’s mentality.

Hey little fellows. Give uncle Niles a hug. – Niles bend and the triplets smiled and ran to him, hugging him with such force that Niles almost lost his balance.

Rach and Rick entered the garden with the triplets and for a few moments it was all about hugs and kisses in the Sheffield’s family.

Max stood in his place thinking about how Rach had become succeeded in all that she did.

Rach, now with 27 years old, was the best criminal psychologist in the FBI, a loving wife and mother, a great daughter, sister and friend.

She had become one of the best agents of the FBI and she and Rick were the best team on the Bureau.

Max, in fact, all the family was very proud of Rach.

He smiled and went behind Fran to kiss his beautiful wife.

We’ve raised them beautifully, haven’t we? – He asked. Proud filling his voice.

Yes, we did. And they’ll do the same with our grandchildren. We’ve taught them well.

I love you for that Mrs. Sheffield.

I love you too Max.

They kissed lovingly until Brighton made them stop their display of affection.

Hey guys, get a room. There are children in here. They don’t need to see that. – As soon as he said that, he kissed Serena and all the family laughed.

The hours went by and the kids said their good byes.

Fran and Max, silently, got to their room and loved each other, knowing that their love had made their children become together and happy.

Rach! My God, that was incredible!

I know sweetie. How many times do I have to prove you that I love you? – Rach teased. Their lovemaking had been passionate and rough, and of course, she stayed on top.

Now I know how much you love me, but I think that you’ll have to prove it during your lifetime with me. – Rick kissed her. After 10 years of being together, his passion for her didn’t diminish. He held her close and they laid on a comfortable silence. After a few minutes Rach spoke.

Honey, I loved seeing my parents like that at the mansion.

Like what?

They were embraced, enjoying the other’s company, madly in love. And they’re almost 50 years old. Do you think that we’ll be like them on their age?

Of course Rach. You know that I love you more than life it self. And I’ll do anything to have you in my arms. I will love until the day I die.

I love you too Rick. – Rach’s eyes watered with her husband’s confession. She hugged him tightly and they slept peacefully, knowing that their love would be stronger than anything, like it always was.
