"Fran, you are sitting this one out !"Max said. "Honey, I want to go!" she said. "I think I know, Fran." Max said. "You're not going, and I had better not catch you there." Max said. "If I must, I will put you on restriction, Francine." Max warned.
"Oh, alright, Mister meanie!" she said, stomping her foot. Max went up to Fran and put his arms around her waist. "Fran, if you defy me on this, you know what will happen." He said. Fran thinks about it. "Oh, yeah." she said.
Fran didn't want to test Max, he always followed through with warnings and consequences. Restriction meant no allowance either. A big defiance, meant for a month usually. Fran needs her freedom and money, something she enjoyed having.
"The last time you went, you caused Chevy Chase to burn his tush, remember?" Max asked. "Honey, you know it was an accident." Fran said. "Yes, Fran, but with you, trouble follows." Max said.
"Well!" Fran said. There was to be a big gala of stars the same week, and Fran couldn't stand not being there for it. It was to be held at the Madison Square Gardens. "No more discussion, Fran, and to make sure you stay home, I will find you things to do." Max said.
Fran was going to say something, but Max said, "No, one more word, and you're on restriction." he said. "I was only going to kiss you, honey." Fran said. She kisses him. Max begins thinking of something to keep Fran busy the night of the gala.
"Take Grace out shopping, on me, Sweetheart, the night of the gala, ok?" Max said. "Dinner, and a movie to." he said. Maggie and Brighton were in Paris still."Alright, honey. Fran said. "Now, get dressed, Fran, I will see you downstairs." Max said. He pats her a couple of times on the tush.
Fran smiled. "Somehow, some way, I am going to be at the gala." she said. "I won't get caught, I will be careful." she thought. A grin spread across her face. She gets dressed and goes down for breakfast.
"Mmmm. something smells good this morning." Fran said, as she arrived at the table. Niles had fixed all her favorites, and she was ready to eat. Max enjoyed seeing Fran as the lady of the house. Francine Joy Fine Sheffield. She has style, spunk, and so much more. She could win anyone over with her beauty and smile.
"Honey, there is a sale today at Loahman's, could I have my allowance, and go shopping?" she asked. "Sure, Sweetheart. " Max said. "Good." she said. " I saw a dress, oh, I can't wait to get it." she said. Max didn't suspect anything. He smiled at her. Suddenly, it dawned on him. "Fran. you're not thinking of buying a dress for the gala are you?" Max asked. "No, honey, I like the dress, and want it for when the next time I go out." she said.
Max believes her. Technically, Fran was not lying. The dress was for the next time she goes out, and it would be Saturday night. Max gives Fran her money, and she heads out after she ate breakfast. Fran calls Val and meets her. She hates shopping alone.
"Val, I am getting a dress for Saturday night." she said. "There's a gala I want to attend on Saturday, but Max said I couldn't go, but I am going ." Fran said."why not?" Val said. "Well, he is still mad over the Chevy Chase thing." Fran said.
Val laughed. "Well, Fran it was funny." Val said. "Val, it wasn't funny," Fran begins to laugh. Val always had Fran laughing. Fran picked Val up, and they kept talking. "I will risk being on restriction, but I want to go." Fran said. "Well, Fran, you should go,but if he catches you, are you sure you're prepared for the consequences?" Val said.
"Yes, Val." Fran said. "He won't catch me." she said. "I hope he changes his mind and invites me along." Fran said. "I am thinking he will." Fran said. The two head out and shop, and Fran gets the perfect dress and accesories. She drops Val off at her home, and she heads home as well.
"Oh, no, it's past 1:00!" Max wanted me home by noon." Darn it." she said. She gets home and tries to sneak in, but Max sees her. "You are late, Fran." he said. "I know, honey, sorry." she said. "Did you get all you needed?" Max asked. "Yes, I sure did." Fran said. "Honey, I will be right down, but I need to put these things away." she said.
"Let Niles do it, I need to talk with you." Max said. Niles takes her packages. Fran follows Max into the office. "Fran, I want you to start letting the driver take you around. "I had a phone call from the police dept." Max said. "It seems you have some unpaid tickets?" Fran looked panicked.
"I was going to tell you, Max, I forgot." she said. "Fran, I told you to tell me when you have tickets." Max said. "Now, you're on restriction." he said. "Max!" Fran said, and she pouted. "No, you know better." Max scorned. "How long?" she said."A month." Max said. "Max!" Fran said. "You heard me." he said.
"You know what else?" Max asked. "You're getting what you received last time along with restriction." Max said. "Oh, not that, Max!" she said. "Oy!" she said. Fran had no choice, and several minutes later, she came out of the office.
Niles asked, "Are you alright, madam?" "Yes, Niles, guess you heard?" She asked. "How could I not?" "I didn't think he would." she said. "Well, he was upset." Niles said. "He said it was to remind me not to forget next time." Fran said. "I am on restriction to." she said.
Max comes in the room. "Honey, does this mean I can't take Gracie shopping?" Fran asked. "You may do that, Fran, Gracie is looking forward to it." Max said, but you must take the limo, no driving." Max said. "Yes, Max." She said. After what had just occurred, she wasn't about to argue.
"Until then, you don't leave this house, understand?" Max asked. "Alright, Max." Fran said. "Watch your tone." Max said. "Sorry, honey." Fran said. "Oh, tomorrow is a PTA meeting, Max for Gracie." "Alright, you can go to it to." Max said. " Straight home after." Max said "Alright, Max." she said.
They went about the day, and Max told Fran he was going down to pay her fines. "This will come out of your allowance, when you begin receiving it again." Max said. "Oh, honey, please don't take it out of my allowance." Fran whined. "No argument, Fran." he said. "Max, it isn't fair!" she said.
"Do you need another reminder?" Max asked. "No." she said, with her arms folded. "While I am gone, you had better stay home." Max warned. "Yes, Max.' she said. Fran hated restriction. She always liked running around, and having fun with her friends and shopping, ect.
Gracie and Fran decided to play a board game, to pass the time. They were playing Yahtzee. "After a half hour, "I win, Fran." Gracie said. "Oh, you're so good at this game." Fran said. "I will beat you at scrabble." she said. After a while, they got out the scrabble game. Fran won.
"Well, I am bored." Fran said. "want go out for ice cream?" Fran asked. "Oh, I forgot, I am on restriction." Fran said. "I think there is some rocky road in the freezer." Fran said. They eat some ice cream, and talk.
Fran was trying to resist going out, when she would try it, Max would catch her, and she always regretted it when he was done with her. It gets her longer restriction to. Once Max said something, it was abide, or die." Fran knew it."Oh, I wish we could go out." she said.
"Daddy will not like it, mom." she said. "I know, especially after this morning." Fran said, making a face. Max had a way of making it hard for Fran to go against him on something, he knew how to handle her, and Fran always thought twice about it, before she would decide on going against her husband.
Max had a way of making it clear his stand on defiance. When she was his nanny, it was one thing, but now as his wife, he wasn't as lenient. Max had advice from Dr..Miller, in dealing with Fran. Max followed it to the letter, and Fran was beginning to respond positively to it.
Fran still had therapy appointments, once weekly with Dr..Miller. Stress relief, was why she needed it. Fran would create stress, and talking it over with her doctor helped.
Fran was glad she didn't go out, Max came back sooner than expected. She would have been caught, no doubt. Max was glad to see she didn't leave. "Fran, your tickets were more than I thought. "I was only told about 3 of them." "You had 6." he said.
"Oy." Fran said. "come into the office, Fran, right now." he said. Max never liked arguing in front of Gracie. Gracie went up to do some homework. Fran received a reminder and a reaming out for the 3 other tickets he didn't know about. "Honey!" Fran said. "Calm down." she said.
"You are on restriction for two months, Fran." Max said. "Fine!" she said. Fran went to the bedroom. Max stayed to finish some work. Max talked to Fran on the intercom. "While you're there, calm your attitude." Max said. Fran was angry. Max was on a roll, and Fran had to ride it out.
"No!" Fran said in defiance. She was angry and didn't care at the moment. Max said, "Get down here." "No!" she said. "If I go up there, you will have 3 months restriction, Fran." Max warned. "Alright, I am coming down." she said.
When she arrived in his office, he had her sit on the couch until she calmed down. She tried whining, but he wouldn't go for it. "Francine, you were the one who received tickets, and you know you were supposed to be upfront with me." Max said.
Fran knew he was right. She didn't want any reminders, 2 for the day was enough. "Are you calm?" Max asked. "Yes." she said. "Then go about your evening." he said. Fran went up to the room. Fran hated to admit it, but Max knew best in the situation.
Later, she went and apologized, and kissed him. She sat in his lap, and they cuddled a while. "I like this. " she said. "I do to, Fran." Max said. "You're not going Saturday, to the gala." Max said.
"Oh, I know, I just want to be snuggling with you." she said. They kiss some more, and Max and she decide to go to the bedroom. It was make up time. Then they showered together. Another favorite pastime.
The next day, Fran kept her attitude in check, and she was able to get through the day without getting into more trouble. She was all set to go to the PTA meeting , what Max didn't know, was there was no PTA meeting, Fran had made it up so she could get out for the evening.
Fran brought Gracie and swore her to secrecy. "We can't shop yet, Gracie, but we can spend a couple of hours at the mall." Fran said. They had fun, sampling ice cream, and looking around. Max had decided to go to the PTA meeting. When he arrived at the school, he knew he had been had. No one was there.
"Well, the little deceiver!' Max said. He calls Fran on her cell. "Are you coming home soon?" he asked. "Yes, Max. " "How is the meeting?" Max asked. "Going well, Max." she said. "See you when you get home." he said.
Max was planning how he would handle this. When Fran and Grace arrived home, Max brought Fran into the office. "I know there was no PTA meeting, Fran!" he said. "Oy." she said. "You're getting a reminder, and you are restricted 3 months now." he said.
"Max!" Fran said. "What do you think, I will let this skip by?" Max asked. "No." Fran said. Max gives Fran her reminder, and she has to stay in the office with him the rest of the evening. "We're going to keep talking, Fran." Max said.
"I don't like being deceived." "You know it." Max said. "You and I are supposed to have trust." he said. "Yes, Max." she said. She knew he was right. "Sit there and write out your frustrations, then throw it away." Max said.Even though it sounded silly, writing it out was like discussing it, and it helped Fran sometimes.
They went to bed, and Fran was sorry she made Max angry. He had forgiven, but she was still on restriction. Fran excepted it, and she decided sneaking out Saturday was not what she was going to do.Max would take her on his own, or she'd go with Gracie shopping.
Saturday rolled around, and Max said she could go to the gala, Grace was going to.Fran had learned her lesson, and Max knew it. She was still on restriction, but she liked attending the gala. It went well, Fran was Star struck, but didn't cause anything bad to happen. Max was proud of her.
