| Maggie is excited about her new philosophy professor, a little too excited in Maxwell's opinion. He demands that Fran go to talk to "Professor Steve." | Professor Steve turns out not to be interested in Mags, but he asks Fran out instead because his horoscope said he would meet a beautiful brunette with an exotic accent. | Meanwhile back at the house, Niles and C.C. are getting into Spanish Soaps. |
| Fran gets home and Max is shocked that Fran would consider going out with Steve. Fran: Mr. Sheffield, I don't know what I'm supposed to do anymore. A man asks me out and I say I can't, I'm in a totally monogamous relationship. The only part I leave out is that I'm in it by myself! | Fran wants Max to give her a good reason she shouldn't say yes to Steve. He comes up with the idea that it would hurt Maggie if she accepted. Fran: Maggie could care less if I go out with Steve. Maggie (entering): What? How could you do this to me Fran, I hate you! |
| Fran runs upstairs to talk to Maggie. Fran: Honey, you know if you don't want me to go out with him just say so. I respect your feelings. Maggie: Well, I don't want you to go out with him. Fran: Then I won't go out with him. I love you and I'd never do anything to hurt you. Maggie: I love you too Fran. | Fran: Then please let me go out with him. I'm going to grow old and die waiting for your father. Fran begs long and hard enough that Maggie relents and lets her go out with him. |
| Fran is determined to forget about Maxwell Sheffield and have a good time. Steve leaves the room to finish making dinner. |
| Fran tries to get rid of Steve's dog Max. Fran: Okay Max, you can go now, there's not enough room on this couch for three. All right, let's go, move it. The dog doesn't move an inch, so Fran whispers in his ear. Fran: Max, would you marry me? The dog jumps up and runs off. Fran: Works every time. | It's the middle of the night and Mr. Sheffield can't sleep. He rouses his muse to talk. Max: All right, all right, I admit it. I'm jealous. There, all right. It's driving me crazy that she's out with another man. I can share these feelings with you because I'm not in love with you. Niles: Well, nobody looks good at two in the morning. |
| Niles and C.C. continue to bond over the Spanish Soaps. Niles: Carmencita shoot papa? C.C.: Si. Niles: Is Papa? C.C.: Muerte. | Fran enjoys rubbing her date in to Maxwell. Fran: Ya see, I call him Steve, he calls me Fran, we know each other two days. That's all I wanna say. | But then Steve breaks up with Fran because his psychic doesn't think Fran is old enough for him. It's too late to tell the truth about her age and another boyfriend of the week bites the dust. |
| That night a sleepless Fran wakes her muse. Fran: Why am I dating these nut jobs anyway? Mr. Sheffield and I belong together. Niles: Well, why are you telling me, go upstairs and tell him. Fran: Niles, I'm going to wake him up at two o'clock in the morning? That is so inconsiderate. | The next day, Max comforts Fran. Max: Miss Fine, I'll tell you what, I'll buy you a drink. Don't forget to bring your ID just in case they want to card you. |
| Fran: Oh Mr. Sheffield. Max: Miss Fine. Niles (trying to get one of them to just say it!): I love you! Fran and Max: And we love you too Niles. |
