| Margo Lange is coming over to discuss being in a show for Maxwell. Fran is supposed to be out of the house for the day. | But Max discovers her on the terrace disguised as a gardener. She slips in the house and in the hysteria manages to drench Miss Lange and wash off her famous facial mole. | Max brings Fran into the kitchen to yell. Niles: You just had to meet her in person. My telephoto lens and parabolic dish weren't good enough for you! |
| Max: Now we both know what the most important thing in a relationship is, don't we? Fran: Forgiveness? Max: No, trust. Trust is the most important thing! Fran is insulted that Mr. Sheffield thinks she can't keep a secret. | But when she takes Sylvia to the doctor's, she tells her about Margo's mole being a fake. She didn't notice the gossip columnist Cindy Adams sitting behind them. |
| Watching TV that night, Fran is shocked to see the secret on Cindy Adams' show. So was Mr. Sheffield. |
| Max: Miss Fine, you remember our conversation about trust? Fran: Yeah, why? Max: Well you realize you and I can't have a relationship if I can't trust you. But now it seems fairly obvious, I can't. | Val: Fran why don't you just go to her and beg for mercy. Ya know, tell her what you did to Elton John and to Elizabeth Taylor. Fran: And to Cher and to Bette Midler. Lambchop! This would pale by comparison really. |
| So Fran goes to see Margo and they decide to go into business together. | Fran tells Mr. Sheffield about her new business selling Margo Lange fake moles on the internet. | But somebody leaked the information and beat them to market, killing Fran's dream of millions. |
| Niles figures out that Mr. Sheffield is the one that blabbed. Max: What am I going to do about it? This was her dream, Niles. She was so excited about this cosmetics business and I went and ruined the whole thing for her by opening my big mouth. There's just no way I can make this up to her. Niles: Well, you could propose. Max: Oh would you get serious Niles. Just get off that track would you and come up with something I can actually use! | Fran: Oh Mr. Sheffield, I'm so miserable. I keep trying to think, who? Who would do this to me? Max: Marry me? Fran: It was you?!? |
| Fran: You blabbed and you think that by proposing it's going to make up for it? Well, you thought right baby! |
| She runs off to tell Niles the good news but while telling the story she realizes something isn't right. Fran: Who am I kidding here? I don't want a proposal from a man out of guilt. Oh god, twelve generations of Fine women just rolled over. | Fran: I want him to ask me because he can't imagine his life without me. Cause he really means it. I kinda deserve that. Niles: So you're actually going to let him out of it? Fran: Yeah, I am. Oh boy, have I come a long way, huh? |
| Max: There you are. Come on Niles, why don't you crack open a bottle of champagne? Let's celebrate. Fran: Huh? Oh you mean that proposal out there? I didn't take that seriously. I just wanted to see you sweat. Max: What? Fran: Ya know, you should have seen the look on your face when I said 'yes'! It was just about as good as the look on Ma's face when I tell her I said 'no'. Why don't we just forget the whole thing ever happened? | Niles: Well, once again you managed to get yourself out of it. Max: Yes, only this time I'm not quite sure I really wanted to. |
