| Max comes bounding down the kitchen stairs. Fran: Ya know, the kids are at school, Niles is shopping. We could do it. Max: All right. Hi Fran. Fran (giggling): Hi Max. Max: You look beautiful, Fran. Fran: Ohhh, over 40 and you can say it again so soon. Brighton: I'm home! Max: Eyelash, right there. Brighton: Good cover there, Max. | Gracie's friend Billy invited her to visit him in his homeland of Kooristan over term break. Since the other kids are scheduled to go away too, Fran thinks it would be a good idea for Niles to take her. |
| Fran: I'm obviously being a little too subtle here, but with all the kids out of the house, we can call each other 'Fran' and 'Max' all over the house. |
| But Mr. Sheffield wants Niles to stay home to help him serve investors. So Fran has to go to the Middle East and she ain't happy about it. | Gracie and Fran arrive in Kooristan and are impressed with the palace and Billy's father, the Sultan (who bears a striking resemblance to someone we know!) | Back at home, Max is cranky because of his fight with Miss Fine. Max: She has to understand that I cannot just drop everything to spend time with her! |
| It's five days later and Fran and the Sultan are getting along great. Fran: I'll tell you, everybody has been so nice. I'm going to miss this place. Sultan: Then why don't you stay? Fran: Well, I would, but I'm on a restricted ticket and that would mean another $72.50 if I.... Sultan: No, no, no, Fran. I mean why don't you stay and live with us here in the palace forever. | Fran calls home. Fran: Ma I gotta tell you something you're not going to believe. I think I just got a marriage proposal. Sylvia: What? You live with a gorgeous millionaire who is this close to a son to me? Who is this yutz? Fran: The king of this country. Sylvia: Is he tall? Fran: Ma!!! 6' 1" ish--the point is I'm in love with Mr. Sheffield. Has he mentioned me? Does he miss me? |
| When Fran turns down him down, the Sultan doesn't take it well. Fran: Well I'm sure I can't be the first girl to ever say no to you. What are you going to do, chop my head off? | Back home, Max is sorry about the fight with Miss Fine and decides to go to Kooristan to tell her so. Max: Oh Niles, what have I done? What was she asking for after all, just to spend a little more time with me? Maybe I should just admit I was wrong and ask for her forgiveness. | Fran and Grace try to leave , but discover that all their clothes, their tickets and passports are gone. There is even a guard on the door. |
| They try to sneak out of the palace by posing as belly dancers, but are quickly caught. Sultan: Miss Fine, what are you doing? Fran: Stayin' alive? | Just then, Mr. Sheffield arrives in Kooristan and they are relieved to see him. |
| But when Fran confronts the Sultan about holding her captive, he says he wanted her to stay as the nanny only and she was free to go. |
![]() Max: Oh I can see right through that Sultan. Oh yes, you'd start as his nanny all right. You'd start working for him for a few years, eventually be on a first name basis, and then, one day, he'd come to realize that you were more important to him than his work. Then, ha, then he'd tell you he loves you. | ![]() Fran: And when does that happen? Max: Right now. I love you. Fran: Whaaatt? Max: Fran, I love you! |
