![]() Fran, Val and Gracie go to see The Rosie O'Donnell Show. When Rosie's son Parker won't take his nap, Fran offers some advice that does the trick. Rosie asks them back to her dressing room after the show and offers Fran a weekly segment about child care on her show. | ![]() Suprisingly, Maxwell goes along with it. Fran: You're certainly being supportive. Max: Well Miss Fine, that's what I meant when I said we should be friends. Fran: You mean when you took back the thing? |
![]() Fran enjoys her new found fame from the show. [That's the real life Yetta she is signing an autograph for.] | ![]() For a while, Max is supportive, but then he begins to regret encouraging her absences. Max: Hypothetically, if you cared very deeply for someone but feared losing them, what would you say to get them to stay? Niles: Oh sir, I'm not going anywhere. Maxwell: Not you, you blithering idiot. Miss Fine! |
![]() Fran isn't home much anymore though, and she begins to feel she is neglecting the kids. |
![]() Sylvia and Yetta rush over to check on Mr. Sheffield because Bubbie Sophie came to Yetta in a dream and warned her that something horrible would happen to him. That gives Maxwell an idea. | ![]() Maxwell relates what Bubbie Sophie told him in his dream: Maxweeeeelllllll, what's this I hear about your Nanny on a talk show? (Other "ghosts": On a talk show!) Who's the schmuck who let her do this to your children? (to your children!) I completely understand you taking back the thing. (Yes the thing!) She should be so happy just to have you as a friend! (and supportive!) Fran: My Bubbie said that? Maxwell: Sounds crazy, no? |
![]() That night as Fran returns from hobnobbing with the elite, Maxwell pretends to be having a horrible dream. Fran comes in to find out what is going on. Fran: Calm down, tell me what you dreamt and I'll tell you what it meant. |
![]() Sophie: If your nanny stays on Rosie's show, the kids will grow up wrong. (Ghosts: No!) Miss Babcock will get Max. (Ghost Babcock: Oooh!) Fran will stay single all her life. (Ghosts: Oy!) Living with her mother, living with her mother, living with her mother! (Ptoi, ptoi, ptoi!) That's Fran's fate, if she stays on Rosie's shoooowwww! | ![]() Maxwell: I'm sorry Miss Fine, did I scare you? Fran: Ummm, yeah. I'm terrified. |
![]() But Fran isn't impressed with Bubbie Sophie's prophecies. Fran: You think I'm going to make a life altering decision based on some woman I never even met that comes to you in a dream? What am I, nuts? |
![]() The next day, Fran tells Mr. Sheffield she is quitting the show anyway. Fran: The kids need me, you need me. For the kids, calm down. | ![]() She admits to Niles though that she was really fired. Fran: Can you believe they bumped me for these two characters? Please, my parents could do better. | ![]() Oh Roooobbb!! The tag scene was a Dick Van Dyke parody with "Sal" concerned with her dream date, "Laura" worried because she had pushed the twin beds together and "Mel" wondering about the thing. |
