Fran is planning on trolling for eligible guys at the New York Yacht Club that afternoon and has chosen a suitable outfit.

Sylvia arrives to warn Fran that Aunt Frieda has lost all her money and her nightclub and is looking for somewhere to stay till she can land Fred, her millionaire boyfriend. But Sylvia is too late, Frieda had already gotten to Fran.

Frieda is not exactly an easy house guest and C.C. and Max are anxious to get rid of her.

Fran explains why Frieda is still in residence.
Fran: A very wealthy and repressed man is in love with her but he's not ready to commit.
Max: Well, that's understandable.
Fran: Uh-huh.
Max: It's only fair that she give him plenty of time.
Fran: How much time are we talking?
Max:Oh I don't know, can't rush these things.

Fran:Well, I hope he knows he doesn't have forever cause she's not going to wait around like some schlub since she can't even spit in this town without hitting some eligible guy.
Max: Well good bloody luck to her catching one because men seldom date women who say the word 'schlub' and rarely marry those who spit!
Fran: Oh!

Fran goes to the Yacht Club as planned and runs into Frieda's Fred there. Fran tries to talk him into popping the question to Frieda and offers to teach him to dance when he thinks that would be the secret to winning Frieda's heart.

The lesson goes pretty well until Fred collapses from the exertion.

Frieda walks in at just the wrong moment and misinterprets the situation.

The family gathers at the hospital blaming Fran and accusing her of coming on to Fred.
Ya happy Hot Pants?

Max starts to worry that Fran really might be interested in Fred. He asks Niles if he thinks Fran is just trying to get back at him for 'the thing,' but since Niles doesn't know what the thing is, he can't say. Mr. Sheffield decides to tell him, but just as he begins, C.C. tries to come in. Niles is distracted trying to keep C.C. from interrupting and misses the whole explanation.

C.C. rushes down thinking it is Maxwell that is the 'certain millionaire that suffered a heart attack in Miss Fine's bed.' I wonder who would have implied that?

Frieda forgives Fran when Fred wakes up in the hospital and explains what happened and proposes. Max 'volunteers' to have the wedding at the house.

At the wedding, Fred wonders if he is doing the right thing marrying Frieda~~he thinks he is in love with Fran instead.

Fran starts actually considering the offer, but Sylvia and Max restrain her from interrupting the wedding.

Fran: You don't understand, he doesn't wanna marry her. He said he loves me.
Max: He's confused. The man just had a near death experience, he didn't know what he was saying.
Fran: Wait a minute, let me get this straight. Now you're taking it back for him??

Just as Fred says I do, he collapses in a heap with another heart attack. But the marriage was legal, thus solving Frieda's financial problems. (And Fred recovered.)

Can't Buy Me Love
Words and Music by John Lennon and Paul McCartney

Can't buy me lo-ove, lo-ove
Can't buy me lo-ove

I'll buy you a diamond ring my friend
If it makes you feel all right
I'll get you anything my friend
If it makes you feel all right
I don't care too much for money
Money can't buy me love

I'll give you all I've got to give
If you say you love me too
I may not have a lot to give
What I've got I'll give to you
I don't care too much for money
Money can't buy me love

Can't buy me lo-ove
Everybody tells me so
Can't buy me lo-ove
No, no, no, no

Say you don't need no diamond ring
And I'll be satisfied
Tell me that you want the kind of things
That money just can't buy
I don't care too much for money
Money can't buy me love

<instrumental interlude>

Can't buy me lo-ove
Everybody tells me so
Can't buy me lo-ove
No, no, no, no

Say you don't need no diamond ring
And I'll be satisfied
Tell me that you want the kind of things
That money just can't buy
I don't care too much for money
Money can't buy me love

Can't buy me lo-ove, lo-ove
Can't buy me lo-o-ove
