 Fran gets a phone call from someone who claims there may have been a mix up in the hospital when Fran was born and she may be Fran's biological mother. Fran is convinced to at least listen to the possibility when she hears the women's laugh~~ a laugh very similar to her own. |  Fran goes to Sylvia's and discovers her mother had left her alone in the hospital when she was born while she was stealing food so there is a possibility that there could have been a switch. |  Fran remembers as a child wondering why she was different than the rest of the family~~things like why she had black hair while her mother and sister had blonde and wanting to grow up to be a career woman. |
 Fran is startled when her 'mother' turns out to be black. 'Ma' explains that her father was white and Jewish. |  Fran goes to dinner at her new mother's house to meet the rest of the family. |  Sylvia is hysterical about the whole idea, but the blood tests show that Fran and her new Ma are not biologically related. (Surprise, surprise!) |
