This episode was better than last week, I thought it was a great take-off of the movie Ransom. I liked that C.C. had to be reminded what kind of dog Chester is. I also liked her reaction to the news Fran had to give to her LOL!
This one was cute and alot of fun. A cute plot that made sense all the way through, several LOL moments, good guest stars, and even a little nod to Julia's Get Smart fantasy :-) CC was a scream, especially her TV commercial. And she's back to the 10-year history with Max - continuity restored! Fran and Val were cute as Lucy/Ethel in the ice cream truck. The tag scene was also cute - love it when Niles digs into the deepest realms of That Voice ;-) A few nits to pick -- could've done without the "number two" line and :::sigh::: it looks like we're back to the Fran-chasing-a-resistent-Max plotline. Otherwise, a cute ep. Jeez, did I say that already? Cute. Yeah, that's the ticket.
I thought it was really really funny, that whole scene with Max running to save Fran was a hoot!!! The jumping in the pool thing was a riot! You notice that Max is the one getting jealous now. Niles was great too! That bit about now C.C. will have extra room in the basket....Hahaha, still laughing. And may I say Val is just great, she is just soooo stupid, she drives me to tears. Great episode. Comedy was definately there, romance could have been better, but all in all I can't complain......KEEP SMILING!!
I didn't like the ep. very much. Sure he showed how much he loves Fran, but the rest was a bad Ransom ripoff. The writers should start coming up with ideas of their own. Let's hope it picks up next week.
I hate to say it, but I found this one "vanilla." Good, but not chocolate. I liked parody concept ;-) but, it could have been funnier & a little more romantic. Max does look great wet, tho!
This one wasn't worth the price of the videotape I taped it on.
There were some pretty good lines in this one, but it was definitely not one of my favorites. There was minimal romance, and I was really grossed out by Nanny Fine letting Chester lick her on the lips. No wonder Mr. Sheffield didn't kiss her when he finally rescued her from the kidnapper!
This really could have been a good episode. But, yet again, it's just not quite getting there. Having Jeff appear on the show more often could be interesting though, couldn't it? Another good-looking guy to look at for a half hour wouldn't upset me at all. Besides that, it might shake things up with Max.
This may be crazy, but I think Maxwell is getting better looking after each episode.(Yeah, Yeah I know he has gained some weight!)
This was such a disappointing episode- the plot was dull. I really think that they could have played up the Ransom parody. Loved CC in the commercial.
The rating should have been TV-18 for that one:)
It was sweet how Max reacted when he found out they had Ms. Fine and he had to rescue them.
This was one of the funniest episodes in a long time! The "Ransom" spoof was hilarious! A little more romance would have been good but the comedy made up for that loss.
Okay, I'm not going to beat around the bush. I'm a Niles/C.C. fan and I guess I expected so much more from this episode. When I heard C.C.'s dog would be kidnapped I thought well maybe she'd be a little upset and just maybe Niles would try to console her. But NO! She and Niles were rarely around each other. And as cute as Charles is I could have done without him running all over Manhattan to save Fran. The writers keep giving us the same basic situations with different twists to them and I for one am getting restless. MOVE ON! These characters have so much potential that is begging to be developed. Especially Niles/CC. I know all you Fran/Maxwell fans will disagree, but come on. Fran should move on if after 4 YEARS he's still unwilling to at least date her. Let's hope next week's show will be much better. Who knows, maybe C.C. will miss Niles being around. Or are we to believe that how she felt in last season's finale was a dream.
I thought this one was fun, although Fran confused me a bit. Does she love Max or not? I'm sick of her flirting with other guys, and I personaly hate being nagged, so I can relate to how Max feels whenever she starts to push! I loved the take on "Ransom", and the rest of the cast was just great, and yes I would have to agree that not only does Max get better looking every episode, but he looks fabooo wet! GRRRR!!! (I might be a little biased though) I still LOVE the show.
This episode was really cute. Max did a wonderful job with his "Secret Agent Man" mode! To me, it shows how much he would go through for her. Although, there could have been a little bit more romance, I thought that overall it was good. Also, Charlie is looking GREATER in every episode. Especially WET!! :-)
The take off from "Ransom" was obvious. The most compelling moment was a wet Max yelling "Give me back my Nanny!" I'm glad Fran tried to make Max a little jealous again, maybe he will FINALLY get a clue and go for it! A lot of missed potential between Niles/CC, what happened to the kinky relationship from the first ep?? Not one of my favorites, but a good story line. (Except how did Max know they were in the van?)
Comments, oh have I got comments. Okay plot was promising, and the beginning was cool. LOL, when Fran says: "I was wondering that myself. I guess its because somebody ASKED HER!"
Go Fran, did anyone else notice how Max ran from that one?
I think it stuck a little too close to Ransom's plot and at the end, no kiss. I was so upset, Max was so distressed when Fran was kidnapped, then no emotional collapse when he finally finds her. Also, did anyone else notice Charles not being able to pull off the line: I'll give you anything you want. My theory is it was so cliche and so dramatic he just couldn't handle it. (I so understand).
Max does look better with every ep, but if they're going to have him run, can we put him in so decent running clothes? Still, hotter than anyone else in prime time. LOL, LOL, LOL when Max said: Oh, Miss Fine, Ace Ventura's here.
It just worked on so many levels and then a jealous Max cutting right between Jeff and Fran, so cool. All in all, lots of fun, but can they concentrate on the Fran/Max and Niles/C.C. issues?
This was a fairly good episode but not as promising as the last few have been. I loved seeing Charlie reprise his secret agent role (albiet a bit bumbling). I'm still looking for Max and Fran to ACT more like a couple instead of all these side stories. I loved the Yetta storyline with the Ex-Lax - great tie back.
I was extremely disappointed in this episode. It seemed to be just a rehash of several old movies. Where's the fresh Nanny humor I know and love? I'm also getting a little tired of the "potty" humor. I'm ready to see more of the children, too. How's Maggie doing in college? There is so much subject matter available with all of the characters, why resort to the same old gags we've seen a hundred times on screen?
This ep was funny. I love that scene where Max is running around trying to find Fran. "Give me back my nanny!" had to have been the best line. I would have to agree that Charles does keep looking better after every ep. but I'm not seeing where you guys say he's gaining weight. Maybe one or two pounds, or maybe I'm just blind. :) The story "It's ten oclock do you know where your kids are?" Was kindof like this ep. One way it was was how it was a take off on Ransom and Max has to find Fran (instead of the kids) The similarities are sort of there. Pretty funny ep though despite the lack of romance. (altho it was adorable that Max cared so much for Fran that he had to find her no matter what)
I don't like the episode very much I think they don't act so good in this one. I'm a big fan of the nanny, but this time I gotta say , even Chester act better.. I hope next week will be better. But wait, there is something! I like the part where C.C shouted at Maxwell "You asked her to marry you, are you mad. Ten years of my life..." That was LOL..
I thought this was a great ep. Although what happened with the romance between Niles and C.C? Val was very funny!! It was a LOL episode!!
This weeks episode, for me, was average. It was lacking in the romance although the comedy was, as usual very funny. I've noticed that this season, Niles and C.C. are funnier than ever. The writers are doing a great job utilizing these wonderful actors' talents. As always, Chester was adorable, but I think the whole "Mission Impossible" type seqeuce at the end was a little over the top. I think they could have come up with a better ending to leave the fans with something more.
Would it be possible to have Niles and CC get a little more involved romantically with each other. Maybe they could get a spark going between Fran and Maxwell. New Year's eve is not so far away. A steady growing romance between Niles and CC would be fun. How are the kids doing?
It was a vanilla episode in all. There was no romance, but the comedy was hilarious!! Does anyone know how old Lauren Lane is?? I loved the part where C.C. had to be reminded that Chester was a pomeranian. LOL!!!! [webmaster's note: I believe I have read that Lauren Lane is 36.]

Our responses (11) gave the episode a 6.4 overall, a 7.0 for the comedy, and a 5.3 for romance. Some comments received were:
Hmmm....
One of my fav movies is Ransom. My fav TV show is the Nanny. This episode wasn't bad,
but not the best Nanny I've seen - Had much more potential.
To nit-pick, the ending had lots of loose ends. Highlight of the show for me were CC's lines.
I found my brain wandering during tonight's show.... the show just didn't hold my attention.
Oh...and Chester licking Fran on the lips....augh.... I'm not sure about anyone else, but, gee,
that was just revolting.
This was better than last week's - Max was a bit more like himself and there were some genuinely Nanny-inspired moments, which was great. I loved C.C.'s "No one squeezes a dime out of C.C. Babcock!" and Niles "..and yes, they are!" Thought the "Give me back my Nanny!" line was more melodramatic than funny - the camera angles sweeping in and stuff made it look pretty silly. However, him at the Jenny Craig bowling league was a laugh. Overall, good ep!
This wasn't all that bad.. I was expecting much worse actually. It was slightly lame and a little far-fetched. I just think that when you start trying to do movies in a TV-SERIES.. you're running out of ideas. I guess it wasn't the story that was the good part of this episode.. it did have some funny lines in it, which I enjoyed. Particularly CC.. she was very funny in a few of those scenes! I don't know if anybody else noticed, but in the end - Maxwell was coming from the opposite direction as the guy was looking (through the binoculas).. However a couple of my friends said they thought this one was FUNNY.. so I guess some people like the "ridiculous" aspects of the show.. and that's what this episode was.. ridiculous.. but not altogether in a bad way.
I loved the fact that it sent up the movie "Ransom"

Our responses (39) gave the episode a 5.6 overall, a 6.1 for the comedy, and a 3.0 for romance. Some comments received were:
It was a cute episode. I liked the "Heavenly Light" that shined on C.C. when she found out Niles quit. And Gracie's "This one's going to be trouble."
CC needs to back off of Mr.Sheffield. GO FRAN!! GET YOUR MAN! Choose Fran.
I absolutely loved about 80% of this ep. It was almost as good as the Morning After, IMO. The direction/pace, the acting -- EVERYone was excellent tonight, and if Daniel doesn't get a Emmy nomination for this one, I'll eat my hat -- and surprisingly, the writing (yes, the Disatrous Duo have redeemed themselves). The LOL factor was very high ("I just won't ... do windows!") and I was thoroughly entertained. The big 20% nit I have is that I just can't reconcile the Niles/CC thing completely disappearing. After at least an entire season (and as little as 3 eps. ago) of building a kinky relationship/attraction, tonight's indifference from CC over Niles' quitting was just too inconsistent -- although the ray of light from Above was an "inspired" moment! I guess this is what the Fran/Max fans have been going through for 4 years. Ideally, Dr. Brothers should have picked Fran for Max and then told CC she needed someone like Niles. But, in spite of that, I really enjoyed it. 4 for 5 in my book.
Hhmm... Sorta liked it, could've been worse. But I didn't like the fact that CC did not even miss Niles or anything. And what's up with Fran and Max's relationship, he used to hug back! But the comedy aspects were what saved it a little.
When are Max and Fran going to get together? After all they are adults!
This episode got us off track... what's going on with Max and Fran?! When she was saying how good he smelled, he didn't even RESPOND! Are we back to 2nd season again?! What happened to that GREAT romance we had a few weeks ago??? They were sooo sweet together. Comedy wise, however, the show was pretty good. The Niles/Frieda stuff was kinda gross, but he was funny with the Jackie O. thing. Max had some pretty funny lines too, "HELL NO!"-LOL! All in all, this episode was not the greatest, but next week sounds like a good one! Here's hopin'!
I really liked the scene in the kitchen with Fran and the new butler:)
I hated this episode. I utterly hated it and I've never felt that way about a Nanny episode before. What is Fran doing to Niles and CC? CC didn't even miss him when he quit. When CC quit, Niles was totally messed up because of it. They're hardly ever in the same scene anymore. What is going on? I don't even know where Fran's taken them back to. They aren't fighting like they did in the first few seasons and they certainly don't seem attracted to each other anymore. What is Fran thinking of?
It was funny but that is about it.
I LOL'd several times during this episode, and Daniel sure had a night, but it just seemed to be lacking soul to me. Lots of one liners strung together, but nothing to really grab on to and care about. And when Maxwell said the girls were morons--I could not have agreed more. What has happened to allow Fran and CC to become morons? Have they both lost all sense of self worth?
I thought this episode was hilarious! I agree the romance is lost in the DEAD ZONE somewhere, but the comedy was great this week. Not that fake- cartoony stuff they seem to throw at us from time to time. I also agree that Fran & C.C. need to grow up! & start acting like they're in the 90's. If Max wants to be a jerk , Fran should make him suffer for it. We all know she could. But I've been saying for a long time that I'd like to see her not act sooooo desperate. If only we could get the good comedy & the good romance in one episode. Without anyone taking it back!!!
LOL, like Niles & CC aren't kinky enough - let's try Niles & Freida! :::shudder::: That was HORRIBLE! Funny, but horrible! :-) Where are we going with the story line here? The characters seem to be as changeble as the weather! What happened to Max's libido? Sometimes I wonder, "Is the man dead?" It was funny, but I'd like to see a little more consistency where the characters are concerned.
Oh! I like this episode, specially the part where Maxwell and Niles were shouting and when Niles get fired. And I loved the part where he was workinfg for Freida. Niles and Freida!!! Oh my god, what a couple, at least is funnier than C.C &NIles, I think And did you see how Fran & C.C were fighting to know who was the "perfect wife for Maxwell"....and when Max discovered that, VERY VERY FUNNY.....
It was a funny episode. But I think I can understand why there wasn't much romance. Maxwell was pretty furious with Niles quitting that he couldn't concentrate on being romantic with Fran. But it was nice that Maxwell didn't try to push Fran away when she hugged him.
Look, I'm not going to beat around the bush... This episode was just plain lousy! A big let down from last week! And what is going on with Fran and Max??? Get these two together already!
They need to use the kids more. They only had one line each. I thought this show was about THE NANNY. Doesn't that imply that she does the job of a NANNY?
Why all of a sudden does it seem that we are back to the old Fran and Max situations we saw in season 2 and part of 3....... Next weeks show looks promising.... I have to say that Niles was in full form tonight....... I hear EMMY calling....... this ep had it's good moments, but I think it got us more off track than anything....... I have to say Niles dancing in Fran's bedroom was a riot......
Very funny episode, but totally unbelievable that C.C. even thinks she's in the running for Max. I hope they don't start making Niles too much of a buffoon. I want him to remain "above" the others to a certain extent. If you look at his personality in earlier shows and now, there is a definite difference. Not sure I like that.
This was a great episode for comedy! It was fast paced, quick witted, and when it was over, I wanted another 30 minutes of fun! We had to rewind and watch it again.
Niles dancing and singing in front of the mirror was a classic! as well as CC's "inspirational" moment. However, we need some more "love" in their "love/hate" relationship!! CC, you better forget Max and get the butler to "do it".
AND what's up with Max?? He is not really that cold-hearted and unfeeling is he, to just let Niles walk out like that and not even care? And to blow off Fran's kiss like that, after last week he could not stand to live without her?? Oy vey, get some hormone therapy already...and we thought Fran was bad when she was PMSing.
Overall, I was ROTFL throughout, but get Max out of the freezer...Fran deserves better!
Definitely one of my least favorite eps...the Niles / Frieda thing was completely unbelievable... and CC's reaction to the situation was a let down. The Fran/Max romance (or lack thereof) was also quite a disappointment.
It's about time that Fran and Maxwell went out on another date. Since the episode with Elton John there's bit very little romance. I enjoyed this episode, particularly Niles working for Aunt Frieda. I'm glad that they're at least acknowledging the fact that C.C. is gaining weight.
Now that was "The Nanny" I know and love!
Very funny episode. Still waiting for the Max & Fran romance to get heated up. Oh well, maybe next week (been saying that for a few weeks now).

Our responses (11) gave the episode a 6.9 overall, a 7.5 for the comedy, and a 4.5 for romance. Some comments received were:
Well, I missed half of this which I was REALLY annoyed with. but I did enjoy what I saw. I perhaps shouldn't be rating this because I didn't see all of it.. anyway, I liked the clothes and the hair (I actually liked that little black wig) and Niles was quite funny. CC and Fran were funny with Dr. Joyce Brothers. But I didn't really like the idea of Dr. Joyce Brothers coming in to evaluate them. I mean we all know that Fran and Max are meant to be together.. and so does Fran.. she shouldn't need some women to come in and tell her that. And there was absoulely NOTHING in the Fran and Max relationship in this episode. And that was a bit pointless. Oh well, can't wait for next weeks.
Good epsisode.... but Frieda and Niles?! That was just more than my brain could cope with.... the toe sucking gag was just too much..... More than I wanted to know! What is happening with Fran and Max? (Of course we all know what eventually happens.. YEAH!!!...but is this where they were only a couple of eps beforehand? Things had better start moving next week!) On the whole, enjoyable ep.
Not bad... It had it's funny moments. Frieda & Niles: Yeewwww! As for Niles not doing windows, I seem to recall in an episode back in the first or second season he was doing exactly that - and making a very squeaky time of it. And Fran's hair! I have to disagree with the first post and say that I hated it. Will she just settle down and pick one style for one show?
Great episode, but where were the children?
This was a really funny ep - it was good! I LOL'd at C.C.: "If I was Mrs. Sheffield, the first thing I would do...well, the second thing I would do..." It was very good, except the romantic side of things was a bit lacking this week (unless you include Frieda and 'Nilesy' *shudder*!!). I hope the romance between Fran and Max picks up soon too. I agree that Fran should already know that she's going to be with Max before CC would be, I mean, think of their relationship versus C.C. and Max's! Overall, I thought this was great! :)
This episode was better than last weeks. I loved it when Niles stormed into Maxwells office and quit and how he went to work for Freda. Fran and C.C were great fighting over who was best suited for Maxwell. Also the last scean with everyone in the lounge room and when Maxwell came in. That was fantastic. However there could have been more romance between Fran and Max. They are supposed to be getting engaged in 10 weeks.
Loved the wig but this episode was more like an ad for fashion week. Looking forward to next weeks episode.
I loved the wig too, however, except for the odd funny moments, that was about all I loved in this ep. Let's get this romance bubblin'. And he is still a father, isn't he?...she's still the nanny? Let's get the kids more involved with the storylines.
Great Episode, very funny. Not quite as much romance between Maxwell and Fran as I would have liked but it was still excellent. The wig was o.k but yes, she should stick to the one style. Can't wait till next weeks!!

Wow! What a totally pleasant surprise! This one was so good I don't even feel the need to make a long comment. Comedy, romance, CONTINUITY - a 10 all the way!
Finally...an episode that was superb. Well timed, well acted, characters were "in character" excellent one-liners and comedic business. In case you can't tell I really liked this one.
Very funny, but could have been more romantic. I think that they should have made Max admit he was jealous of Fran and Chevy. They're still in a rut romance wise, but the comedy is still up there.
This was such a funny episode, much better than last weeks. I LOLed at the scene between Niles and C.C. Niles' line: "Give it to me Babcock." just had to be the funniest.
This is vintage Nanny! How many new Favorite Quotes will we get from the second act of this episode??? A worthy kick-off to a remarkable night on CBS. Brava!
I liked this episode very much! It was verrry funny I think and meanwhile at last we get to see a jealous Maxwell. I think a kiss would not have been out of place, but oh well. I also think that Fran should drop it with the 2nd date thing, too. But I loved this ep.
I think this was the best episode in a while! The Niles/CC scene in her hotel room was the BEST!! What a riot. Loved the hand puppet. Maybe the romance will heat up as the holiday season nears. I also liked the kids being involved more.
Now, THAT's our "Nanny!" :-) Good use of all the cast this week. Niles & CC were a riot! And Fran even did a bit of nannying when she ripped up "B's" fake id. Now, they lost points on Max not carryin' Fran immediately to HIS room, but, hey, a girl can't have everything! :-)
What an episode! It was packed with an almost perfect balance of romance and comedy. I think this is the funniest we have ever seen Max's character! His "I feel like a huge ass." remark had me laughing for hours! As it was said, Max could have admitted he was jealous. However, I think this is period where we get all of the obsticals out of the way, and get these two together! The writers are just beginning to move in for the kill! Well, here's hopin' for next week! GREAT SHOW!
All the characters seemed to be back...into character. Loved Fran's tearing up Brighton's fake i.d. Could have used some more romance, but Max demanding to know who was singing Grace to sleep was really, really funny. All in all, one of the most pleasant episodes to watch since the Elton John episode.
Definitely better than last week!! I just love a jealous Maxwell!! And the comedy was great!! I give it a 9 just because Maxwell didn't kiss her!
Loved it. Extremely funny, that Niles is a hoot! I give the comedy a 10 and the romance an 8 (Fran & Maxwell could have kissed at the end).
Very funny episode. I think that Max and Fran should have kissed at the end, and there should have been more romance. Loved the scene in the hotel room between Niles and C.C. Much better than last week.
The best ep of this season!!!! It was just so cool. The romance could have been better between Max/Fran, but as for CC/Niles I think the hand puppet speaks for itself.LOL, LOL, LOL!!!! Also loved the imaginary phone thing, are these two made for each other or what???!!! And jealiousy was at an all time high, tonight, with Charles in excellent form (I almost died when he once again pick her up, oy is he strong). Now can the characters stay in character for awhile. I have missed them very much.
There were some funny scenes in this episode, but I felt that this episode didn't have as much of the humor that makes it so hysterically funny. The Nanny is my favorite show and I never miss it.
This one was much better than the last two. Extremly funny and quite romantic. Maxwell's jealous streak was a plus.
What a fun ep. The look on Charles' face when he asked Fran the who the man was in the sequined gown singing Grace to sleep with Ain't No Mountain High Enough, I nearly fell off the couch. I know a lot of people wanted them to kiss ( me included most of the time ) but that was one of the all time great comeback lines. It was also nice to see CC a bit more back in character.
I enjoyed this episode much more than last week. If you're going to have celebrity guests this is the way to go. The scene between Niles and C.C. in her hotel room was priceless. Who knew that C.C. was so kinky (Although it figures). Finally some romance with Maxwell and Fran, even if it was only her making him jealous. Keep going in this direction!
I really enjoyed this ep...lots of good lines and situations. I particularly got a kick out of Maxwell's "feeling like a big a@@" comment!
This one left me screaming "It can't be over yet!!" Chevy Chase is a total scream just standing there, so the comedy was superb throughout. This ep had great pacing, I did not want it to stop. Charles slamming into the door was priceless. The dialog coming from Fran was driving Max crazy and we all love a jealous Max! (although a little kiss when Fran came out wouldn't kill you already) Bravo CC, ROTFL at the hand puppet!! Oy vey Niles, you animal..."Give it to me Babcock...I'll tie you down if I have to" This one had it all!!
I like this episode, I have never seen Maxwell so, so jealous, of course I would love to hear Maxwell say everything he thought to Miss Fine. And the scene with C.C and Niles, I have never laughed so so so much, it was so hilarious... :o)

Our responses (8) gave the episode a 8 overall, a 8.4 for the comedy, and a 7.1 for romance. Some comments received were:
I liked this one. It was funny, it had the kids in it, and it had a jealous Maxwell. Niles' "I want it!" to CC was a hoot. Very enjoyable!
It was great episode, with lots of laughs, especially the Niles and CC scene.
Again I got REALLY good feedback from all of my friends about this one. I personally, thought it was ok. It wasn't great, it wasn't bad. This episode is a definite example of the "cartoony" aspect of the show that everyone is complaining about it. In essence this show had a lot of very funny parts to it, but it was just SLIGHTLY overdone. Niles was funny, but very overdone. Fran with Chevy (and Max outside the door) was also funny but just a BIT overdone. I liked Fran getting Niles' wallet.. The other thing that I did like about this episode is that Fran actually "looked after" the children while they were in atlantic city. She was on to Brighton and his hormones, and she cared about Gracie (finding a sitter!). The "second date" jokes are becoming a bit tiresome.. but I really liked the way CC acted at the beginning when Maxwell became jealous. Overall, enjoyable.. but room for improvement.
Yeah. Getting much better. The Niles/CC scene "Give it to me Babcock; Niles, you animal!" was great. Glad to see Max getting jealous, and Fran taking care of the kids. Enjoyable ep.
This was a very good episode, in retrospect I would have liked to have seen Max admit his jealousy, but that's really the only thing I was so-so about. The comedy was hilarious (I loved the "Can you spot me the fifty?" and then Niles just opening the door). Good show, and from the sounds of things, it looks like it will keep up!
This ep was great. I loved it how Niles went to CC for his wallet and CC with the puppet "You don't have to pay me." I couldn't stop laughing. The kids were great and they were on the screan more and Brighton with his fake ID. Also Maxwell looked absolutly great when he was jealous. Fran did well at making him jealous with the help from the kids.
