5.19 Immaculate Concepcion

April 1, 1998

Watching the tape Daddy left them.

Maxwell's father dies, and his vast estate is willed to his daughter (Maria Conchita Alonso) from an illicit affair. Written by: Rob Sternin Story by: Fran Drescher and Robert Sternin. Concepcion: Maria Conchita Alonso, Consuelo: Liz Torres, James Sheffield: Robert Vaughn, Attorney Chandler Evans: Richard Fancy.

Our responses (44) gave the episode a 8.2 overall, a 7.7 for the comedy, and a 8.5 for romance. Some comments received were:

Hooray! CC has returned! Okay, that's out of my system... Loved the interaction present yet again between Niles and CC. I was very touched by the moments between Max and Fran. They were very precious and showed the true love between them. AND FRAN FINALLY SAID I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!! Kudos to the writers, and, as always, Good Show to the cast on excellent performances!!

I thought that this show was really good... It was good to have C.C back! I can't wait until the wedding!

While there wasn't a great deal of romance, what there was I think was intense. Due to the fact that Fran finally showed exactly how she feels about Max. She was willing to "let him off the hook" to marry for money. This from Fran. I've enjoyed this ep. more than the last few.

I must say I really liked this ep! I loved the comedy, I very much enjoy CC being back. And, the romance was good, though I really didn't like that kiss at the end....

Well, my view of this ep. is shaped by the fact that I was in attendance at the taping. All I can say is, it is amazing what rewriting/reshooting can do! And the magic of editing and camera angles also came into play. The finished product was a very enjoyable episode. Picking up from Dinner Party, where Max lets Fran know it doesn't matter that she's not a blue-blood, this ep. had Fran letting Max know it's not his money she's in love with. Very nicely done. And the "reunion" for Niles and CC was also terrific. Niles' little skippy thing in the kitchen said it all :-) I liked the way the guest stars didn't overshadow the cast, too. The dream sequence was a riot but I gotta ask -- why didn't the other half make it? That was one of the funniest things all season. All in all, I really like the style/direction this ep. implies. 7/10

C.C. WAS ON!!!!!!! I loved tonights show!!! I loved Niles "toying" with C.C.'s head!!! I also enjoyed watching Max call Fran, Frannie, I had not heard him call her that before, or am I deaf? I have always been a Liz Torres fan, so seeing her on the episode was a DELIGHT!!! I liked the scenes shot with her and Sylvia!!! I hope C.C. was not serious about being gone a few more weeks!?!?!

I liked it. I was really nice to see Max and Fran declaring to stick by one another, no matter what the circumstances might be. And C.C. and Niles - The Dynamic Duo are reunited! All is as it should be. Now the countdown begins...how much longer till they tie the knot???

This show had it all. Great comedy, romance, all of the kids, Niles thrilled that C.C.'s back (and so am I). Especially liked when Fran told Max she loved him (been waiting awhile for that). This show is getting so good. It's a shame we're coming to the end of the season.

Finally Fran said I love you. 'Bout time.

I find it hard to be really objective about this one, having been amoung the audience when it was taped, & only too aware of what it was like before re-writng & editing. First off, I have to say that the ending they wound up with was MUCH better! I was very pleased to see Fran turn things around with a little compassion - classic "Nanny," there! ( Can't figure out why that ending wasn't obvious before the first taping.) Niles packing up things was LOL, and I was so glad to hear Fran finally SAY that she loves Max. It was fast becoming a real issue among the fans. Glad they dealt with the huge continuity problem they were going to wind up with, also. I was, however, VERY disappointed to see the fantasy scene cut to bits. What had been ( IMHO ) one of the funniest scenes in Nanny history, wound up mostly just gross & only mildly amusing. What happened? They couldn't have cut some of that bit about the room service menu? And - I just gotta say this - they missed an opportunity for some prime physical comedy with Fran & Sylvia struggling over that sandwhich. All in all, tho', it was a very good save of a script that started out with an awful lot of holes in it.

I'm undecided about this one. It amused, repelled ( the dream sequence - yikes! ) & touched me all within the half hr. Once again Charles showed his considerable acting talent - but please no more dream squences that make us cringe like that one! On a more positive note, it was nice to see Fran's character show that she cares much more about Max than his money. The scenes with Niles & CC were excellent ( the "voices" she heard in "The Place" ) & the kids were funny in their "mercenary" mode. Overall though the show seemed rushed with a bit of everything jammed in - but hey - it is a half hour sit-com so I guess that's reality in "TV Land".

I enjoyed the way Fran and Max faced the money issue and the Niles/CC banter was funny.

I enjoyed this episode. I thought Maxwell did not talk long enough to his brother if it had been a long time since they had talked to each other. But overall I thought it was funny and romantic, it was especially romantic at the end.

It was wonderful, as always. It seems to have gotten even better now that they're engaged. It's great to have C.C. back, the end was hilarious when they made her think she was going nuts again. Fran finally said "I love you"! And though it was a bit corny, the kiss at the end cracked me up. The only thing I didn't care for was the dream sequence, it was a little gross. But it was fun to see Fran pregnant, hopefully a sign of things to come. Only 6 MORE WEEKS till the wedding!

Fran Finally said it!!!!!!!! Enough said........loved this ep!

What a great episode. Can it get any better than this? C.C. and Niles we're lots of laughs (as usual). Fran and Max, what can you say, very romantic and their scenes showed just how much they really do love each other. And Fran FINALLY said "I Love You" to Max. It keeps getting better and better every week (although a little more private romance would be nice). I have been reading some interesting comments from people who attended the taping. Would love to know what changed from the episode that we saw. I thought this one was even better than "The Dinner Party". Since I am also reading that the "Pre-nup" is supposed to be one of the best ever, I can't wait for the "Big 3" episodes that we have left this season. Keep up the great work. I have a feeling it's going to be a long summer waiting for the conclusion of the "Cliffhanger".

Finally she said that she loves Maxwell!!

Finally, Fran says "I love you". I was glad to see CeCe, though they were inconsistent with the three month stay (more like two weeks!) I loved when Fran told CeCe that she was in it for love. Liz Torres and Sylvia were hilarious together. Overall, a great ep and it was better the second time around on tape!

Looks like I'm the exception here...I didn't care for this ep much.... I thought the story was lame...where was the grieving widow (Joan Collins) and Max's other siblings (Nigel & Sister)? I also thought the plot involving the money was a bit too far fetched (in other words Max's financial woes without it) and the children's reaction apalling. Also, Max is a recognized leader in his field (see last week's trip to speak to the National Endowment for the Arts) yet Fran had so little confidence/respect for his professional abilities :-|
I did enjoy the interaction between Fran and Max---particularly Fran's finally saying she loved him. Niles and CC were a hoot, as usual...it was good to see her back! :-)

I thought this episode highlighted how much the characters are changing and growing. It was nice to see Fran admit that her love for Max outweighs money and Max become more open to the fact that he can be loved for himself. Niles & CC banter was perfect as always. I know this transition is coming fast but I think the writers overall are doing a great job in a very short period of time. I can't wait to see the topics they handle next year when the deadline isn't so tight.

When I started seeing scenes shortened from filmed, I really began to worry on that front--and that was from the very first scene. After seeing the nightmare shrank down to barely funny, I had no idea what was going on. Throw in a new scene to lead into break and a whole bunch after the break, and I began to really WORRY. This one was so transformed, I can't believe it took bringing in an audience that by the 2nd take of a scene was bored to realize it was trash. I commend whomever was responsible in realizing they had created (major) gaps in continuity with that first script. This show was yanked from the depths of the abyss and sat atop the mountain top. I'm sure my bias effects that gravely, but I enjoyed the ep immensely. Thanks for caring!!! Although, I do miss the part where Brighton informs CC "she can still marry a Sheffield" (keep the take that had her considering the idea).

What a great episode!!!Fran finally told Max that she loves him 'for richer or poorer'. I love Concepcion and look forward to seeing her again at the wedding. Liz Torres as the mother was a hoot. The story line with CC going back to the hospital is so lame.

This just keeps getting better and better!

I'm dying to know if they'll let Max know that Nigel once proposed to Fran. I'd love to know what she wrote in that letter she left on his desk.

Finally! She said it! And the "so much" was a nice touch. All the scenes between Fran & Max (except the dream) were SO sweet I wanted to melt! It's important Max know Fran does not love him for his money, and now he definitely does. As for the dream sequence, even CS can't make grungy look good!! As for Niles, it's nice to see he has his little friend back!

Yahoo! This was a great episode. Fran and Max actually were talking about their feelings to one another. Fran saves the day by being loving and caring, and her hair looked great in every scene!
Does it seem as though Maxwells part has expanded too? He seems to have more to say, and do now. Can it get any better? What a surprise to see C.C., she was perfect, and Niles complete with his "little friend." How will we contain ourselves until the next new episode?

Well, now I'm happy-- Fran told Max she loves him! Have been fascinated by the comments from those who saw the taping; would be interested in hearing more about anything good that we lost in the editing, although it sounds like the final result much improved on the original. It was great to have C.C. back to spar with Niles--and I liked the bonding between Sylvia and Consuelo. Maybe my critical eye has been converted by the declaration of love that I was waiting for-- but, except for the notorious part of the fantasy scene, I really enjoyed this episode. While I guess it's a bit of a stretch to believe that Max suddenly would be poor without his father's inheritance, the plot had enough hold on realism to facilitate the important moment when Fran could let Max know that she's marrying him for love and not his fortune. I also was pleased to see a plot that allowed the kids to be involved-- and Fran's further affirmation to Sylvia that Max and the kids mean everything to her. It's going to be even harder than it was during the Olympics to wait for the next new episodes-- and I've got my fingers crossed that the Wedding episode gives us enough to repay our long waits. The cliffhanger discussions make me real nervous.

Another just plain Fun Episode! Well, Fran finally says those three very important words to Max. It's about time! (even after that kitchen scene, oh my god) I loved how the entire family was involved in this one and how Fran saves the day, by just being a caring person. We also know that the romance between Fran and Max is real, not based on anything superficial; it was a great romantic moment. And there is still hope for all Niles/CC fans, the relationship still cooks! (a cake anyway).
Let's hope Max's new sister shows up at the wedding, along with the rest of the family. (let's not dispose of any more family members OK?) Now for the loose ends...what happened to Max's step-mom aka Joan? and Please let us see the response from Max's real mother when she finds out about the wedding! Nigel? Mopsey? We are in suspense until the wedding, so keep it coming!

What a great episode. This is the Fran we (well, I) know and love. The bit where Fran tells Max to marry someone rich was a bit unbelievable, but sweet none-the-less. I *loved* the whole Niles/CC interaction - it was great.

She finally said it!!!!!!

It wasn't the best ep, a bit orignal, but still funny! CCwas really funny. I felt really sorry for Max. And Fran was very supportive and the death of Max's father's death. Keep up the great work!

Fran said it! Yeah!!

More Madeline (Gracie)

FINALLY FRAN TOLD MAX SHE LOVES HIM!!!!!! The "so much" part was like a little bonus. We have waited so long for Fran to say those sweet words yet I have to say, I was a little disappointed, it just didn't sing for me.
I though the kids acted as can be expected, never really knowing their grandfather. I just wonder, where was Joan, surely even though she wasn't present James would have left a large proportion of his estate to her?!?
Sylvia and Concepcion's mother (won't even attempt that spelling!!) were a riot as usual with the room service....say what you like but I still love the food angle put on Sylvia. All in all not a bad episode, just lacking in a lot of the passion that we're all after, although the moments between Fran and Max were tender and sweet. I'm still hanging out for the wedding, hoping it will be everything we're looking for, despite the cliffhanger.

it was ok. i reckon the more romantic the nanny gets the less humour involved. it happens every time but i cant wait til they get married.

5.20 The Pre-Nup

April 29th, 1998

I really don't see why you can't see
my side of this. It's just a piece of paper,
if it will make me happy, why can't
you just sign the bloody thing?

Fran is furious when Maxwell asks her to sign a prenuptial agreement, and she refuses to sign. A horrible argument ensues and Maxwell gives Fran a rash ultimatum -- sign or the wedding is off. When, shortly after the fight, Brighton is injured and rushed to the hospital where the nurse refuses to allow non-family visitors, Fran disguises herself as a nun to see him. When Maxwell sees how truly "divine" Fran is with his children, he is forced to reconsider his stubborn stance. Written by Frank Lombardi. Directed by Peter Marc Jacobson. Sammy: Ray Charles, Edna: Whoopi Goldberg, D.D.: Jessica Tuck, Nurse: Kathryn Joosten, Orderly: Gunnar Peterson

Our responses (38) gave the episode a 8.3 overall, a 8.1 for the comedy, and a 8.3 for romance. Some comments received were:

I absolutely loved this episode. Straight tens all the way through. The was the best when Max surprised Fran (and me) with the adoption papers. It was wonderful I loved it. I can't for the rest of this seasons episodes, and that wedding I can't wait. :)

I just really loved the show this week. It had all the elements I enjoy about it.

I liked it. Gave us a lot to talk about! I still have issues with Max and that prenup, but oh well. We'll see about next week...

I enjoyed the interactions between Fran and Max :-) I also was glad to see they made an attempt at making Val a little less dinghy! Niles was a hoot as usual. Who was the blonde woman and what was her purpose?

Enjoyable ep. - good pace, well-written, Fran at her best in the acting dept. But I wasn't as bowled over as I thought I'd be. It needed more Whoopi and more Niles with the "new CC." I found Max to be very cold, a 180-degree turnaround from the last few eps. A few LOL moments but not what it could've been. And is it just me or could the whole nun thing have been funnier? Seems they wasted a golden opportunity for some great comedy there. Average and pleasant but not a winner - 7/10.

"A blind man in New Jersey saw that one coming, Sir". I know two people from our "L.A. Adventure" group saw this episode being taped and, without giving away the plot, raved about the twists and surprises. Well, it's Thursday morning and I'm still waiting to be surprised! Don't get me wrong, I liked it well enough, but I expected much more from Frank's last script of this season and Peter's first shot as Nanny director. I was shouting out dialogue at the TV as if I were watching a favorite soap! If they keep this up, all the talk about the show being boring after Fran and Max were married will be a self-fulfilling prophesy. The only bonus points this one gets for originality are for Max being turned off by Fran in the nun's habit. There is no doubt in my mind that if they had used Fran dressed as a nun last season, they would have written Max as oddly aroused by it. 6 out of 10. Shame on you, Frank, shame on you, Peter! Some of us hold you to a higher standard than we do the rest of the Nanny creative team!

I have to agree with the previous posts that the epiosde felt like it was lacking something in the translation. The comedy and romance could have been much better and yes I agree Max did seem kind of cold until the end of the episode. I hope this is not an indication of the future here.

I thought this show was a perfect example of what a couple goes through a few weeks before their wedding. Even though they seem to be having little arguments about everything, their love for each other really shines though enough to conquer all. I figured Max would rip up the "prenup", but I was really suprised when he presented Fran with the adoption papers. He is such a sweet, caring man, I could just eat him up. I really enjoyed how all the characters were involved, each having their own great lines and moments. Just one more hurdle to clear until the big day. Keep up the good work.

I wasn't terribly impressed with this episode. It just wasn't very funny--though there were some amusing moments: Whoopi and her dogs, Yetta was a scream as usual, and I really liked the "protection" line--"that goes for you, too, Missy." And for the first time EVER, I wondered why Fran would *want* to marry Max--he just seemed so cold (as someone mentioned). He didn't even really seem all that concerned about Brighton. He redeemed himself in the last scene with the adoption papers but I have to say this episode didn't leave me with a good feeling.

Ok maybe it's just me but I was disappointed in the writing. The comedy seemed forced, Max acting like a child in the opening was completely out of character, and the suspenders were horrific! At least the last half was a little better but still seemed rather slow. I'm not sure if it's because they are trying to put so much into each episode or it was just an off day but I'm afraid this won't be one of my personal favorites. I sincerely hope they give this audience a little more credit for next season. If they really want the series to continue they have got to stop being so "cutsey" and take the time to do better writing. I must admit I was disappointed.

I thought this was a good episode. I too was suprized when Max handed Fran the adoption papers.

I enjoyed this episode. There were a lot of fun moments. I thought the "blond woman" was so incredibly like C.C. that it was terribly amusing. Her voice, actions and appearance were well done. I hope Niles will have some kind of faithful ness to the real thing and come to his senses. Maxwell was cold and stiff, but isn't that his way? And don't we love it when Fran shows him that love and caring are more important? He's needed her in his life from the first episode, and its still that way. Glad they didn't spend a lot of time explaining why Fran was in the nun habit--but knew we would figure that out real quick.

Well I thought that the episode was quite good. The jokes were both sweet and falling down funny Maxwell was as usual gorgeous- "to die for" and Fran looked great-and I'm glad he mentioned Sarah again-it kinda puts his life into persepctive- What was the story with Niles and the CC replacement- was Lauren out on Maternity still? I'm also glad that they gave Val a modicum of intelligence- she was becoming too much of a stereotype. All in all a good lead- (pre)-nup to the BIG NUP!

This episode got down to relationships. We get a confirmation of there being some attraction between CC and Niles, since the clone is aroused by the "pathetic" butler. "You're not half the man she is" to "you don't know my type" just before he yelps that "yay" at the prospect of sex that night. Then, we get Fran and Max being reminded of what really matters in their life. We started out with the battle lines drawn due to a pre-nup and wound up with adoption proceedings. Max said volumes with "I want you to be the children's mother, legally". Notice the word choice and also take note of that little pause before "legally". What started out with distrust, selfishness, insensitivity took a dramatic U-turn along the way. "Let me fill you in on what happened." "Fran, isn't it obvious? He was chasing after some girl he didn't have a chance with and ran into a wall." "And then, they wouldn't let Fran in, so she had to dress up like a nun." Then, Max gets to hear Fran echo what has been evident since her arrival on the scene, she loves those kids dearly. Finally, it all comes together in that last scene. She enters with every intention of signing the pre-nup, but only he knows that he had something else he'd rather see her sign. With perfect tones to their voice and looks in their eyes, we see in them both the love for the children and each other. And as if all that was not enough, Max paid a compelling compliment to Fran in that mention of what he thought his life would be like originally. So, we got an uncontrived plot, remarkable use of the kids, guests stars that did more than get in the way of any kind of story, and a sideplot that effects the mainplot, 10's straight up! And this my friends, makes for a Nanny Recipe if you were to ask me!

I am going to be honest here, I had to read everyone elses comments before posting mine in fear that I would be alone in saying I was not too impressed with this script.....I did however enjoy Whoopi, and Yetta was a scream, I also loved the Val and her "Ginkgo" scene. the best part about the whole plot was Maxwell presenting Fran with the adoption papers. And WHY do we need a replacement for the irreplaceable Lauren Lane??? I give it an "iffy" 7.

This was a GREAT Nanny! It had everything including heart. Loved the way the typical pre-nup bickering resulted in a truly warm and reality-based plot - Max legally making Fran the mother of his children. I say CHEERS to Frank for yet another funny AND tender show, and Cheers to Peter's direction (especially in the Whoppi scene) This show's GOTTA come back!

I really wasn't expecting the adoption papers. What a sweetie! Can't wait to see how Max reacts when he finds out about Nigel. I still want to know what Fran wrote in that note to Max! Also, has anyone else noticed that Max's wedding ring was stolen during the mugging. I haven't seen either one of his rings since. Nice consistency!

Another good episode. True - the writers still appear to be trying to jam in a bit of everything ( too bad they didn't get to do a few more shows this season so less "rushing" would be required), but in retrospect often the last few weeks before any wedding tend to be crazy with volitile emotions & 1000 little issues all swirling around at once. ( & most of us get more than 1/2 an hour to deal with it ! ). I laughed at Max's attempts to hide what was coming before he mentioned the pre-nup to Fran .... & Niles "Now you're on the wrong side of the door" comment was good. The best part was the end though, which continued to illustrate the increasing depth & complexity of Max & Fran's relationship. I'm looking forward to the next two shows !

I too have to admit that I read everyone else's comments before I post my own.I truly see everyones point of view. But I feel like you need to consider Maxwell's responsibilities. He said that he had discovered he was responsible for his entire family. I don't feel that this shows a lack of trust because you never know what the future can hold and I thought Val brought that out well. I thought Fran did a great job on her acting and when she told Maxwell that she loved him I thought my heart would melt.I had already figured out that Maxwell would ask her to sign the adoption papers instead of the prenup because of what Rick Shaw had posted on this webpage. I wish I hadn't read it because then I know I would have been really suprised. I thought Whoopi Goldberg was really funny and Fran in the nun's habit was hilarious! Overall I truly enjoyed this episode, it really showed how much Maxwell cares for Fran and how much she loves him! It is so hard for me to believe that these people are actors sometimes because they have such great chemistry!

Well, I loved it, surprisingly -- b/c I cringed when I read the description. Not as LOL as some (though it had it's moments) but completely adorable. Though I usually love Yetta, I thought the tag was lame. Not to sex up the show *too* much, but after the exchange in the hospital, was I the only person envisioning a tag with Fran trying to get to/torture Max in that Nun get-up? How funny could that have been? (agreeing with those who suggested the nun-thing could have been funnier). 8.5/10

After reading the other posts, I seem to be in the minority, but I thought this was THE funniest show of the season! Niles' big fat ugly butler hair, Sammy trying to catch Sylvia, and Fran's imitation of Max were all a RIOT along with Max's line to Fran (re:Nun Habit): "You'll buy anything on sale, won't you?". This was also one of the sweetest shows of the season. I knew Max would rip up the pre-nup (which he didn't seem to crazy about to start with), but his apology AND giving Fran the adoption papers was so (sigh)! I only wish when Fran said ".. and I love you" that Max would have said I love you too. Maybe they'll get it together for the wedding (275 hrs to go!!).

Well, they did it. They pulled off the issue of a pre-nup & still left Max smelling like Aramis. Gives me hope for next week. ;-) True, he was a bit frosty at first, but I agree that that's just the way he is sometimes. Fran is gradually warming him up, but he's bound to slip back once in a while. The switch from pre-nup to adoption was a nice touch, & Whoopi's performance, that talking book, and Niles with CC's replacement were all LOL! Nice job. PS: I rather liked the suspenders. :-)

"I am going to be honest here, I had to read everyone elses comments before posting mine in fear that I would be alone in saying I was not too impressed with this script."
Honey, you read my mind. I laughed only a couple times during the whole show. Once was during one of the Niles/C.C. Clone interchanges and the other, Max's comment "You'd buy anything on sale." Mean, but funny! I thought they tried to cram too much into this episode (which they're doing a lot lately) and tried WAY too hard. Whoopie was completely underutilized. She and Fran could have dressed up as nuns together and actually have done something. Instead, I think the whole nun-outfit thing was flat and un-funny. Charles was cold and heartless throughout the first half and whoever said the suspenders were awful was right! Overall, I was very disappointed. One question: where is the lust between these two? If a couple has been attracted to each other for five years and have been as hot and heavy as they've been periodically, now that they're getting closer to the day, wouldn't they be a little less business-like?? They're acting like an old married couple instead of a couple madly, passionately, newly in love.

I truly love this episode - think it's the best of this season so far. Both office scenes with Niles were a riot, however short they were - the way he yelped when announcing he'll take the rest of the day off... Sammy announcing he'd catch Sylvia still gives me laughing spasms. But it was not just a funny script, it was also carefully written, with every scene hooking into another.
And as for the Maxwell-Fran issue : I think it is very realistic to have all the big topics coming up in the final weeks before a wedding. Surely tension runs high, as does expectation. Nerves kicking in, leading to temporary, unrealistic outbursts. But as long as love wins out in the end, everything else can be forgiven and forgotten. Especially if a couple resolves an issue like these two ! Those adoption papers caught me completely by surprise, and I still melt for it. At that very moment, the looks on both Fran's and Maxwell's face said it all : these two don't need no pre-nup indeed, these two are meant for eternity. Or at the very least : for another coupla seasons :-)

Nothing but love, here guys! I think the issue was handled well, the characters were in their correct roles. As for Maxwell, you have to remember he has more than one side to him, in fact he is the most complex character in the series, so sometimes he is cold and then he warms up. Loved "I had to give my insides time to fall back into place".---Spoken like a true parent. Niles, "C.C.", Yetta, Silva, and Val were wonderful. Val has an I.Q., its a miracle. The adoption scene was complete sugar. And Whoopi, like Ray was a character and not a guest star!!! All in all, great show, keep it up!!!

Well, we asked for issues, and that's what we get. It is just too bad that we don't have enough time to really deal with them. This show really dealt with some deep issues, Fran and Max almost at odds over trust, Max's insensitivity to Fran, and Fran's commitment to Max and the kids. Max's and Fran's body language at the photographers was classic! We should have seen Max literally in a dog house! Whoopi was great I can't wait to see the wedding. Sylvia/Yetta/Sammy moments were really funny.
I wanted more comedy and faster pacing overall though. The situations seemed a bit forced, we have to deal with so many things so quickly. It was great to see so much with the kids and Max taking some genuine concern (although he should have discussed adoption with the kids first) with his children. This definitely sets up a glimpse of things to come with Fran and Max, they are both slow to change and will fall back into old patterns. The makings of great some comedic moments!
LOVED Niles and fake CC (YEA!) Something to keep that twisted relationship above water... I just like more zing... I think next week has potential, as some really juicy issues are surfaced and we get to see a side of Max we have never seen before.(hopefully) ...and GET on top of the promotion CBS, We want to see Fran's wedding everywhere!

Overall, I loved the show, I think it was one of the best they have ever done.

Top ep!!! Loved Whoopi and the fight over the pre-nup!!! And loved Fran in the nun outfit!!! Loved it!!! And Niles and CC as well!!! Everything was so perfect and right up there with episodes from the first 3 seasons!!!

Not that funny, although it was important that the subject was dealt with....I loved the ending! TWO WEEKS TILL THE WEDDING??? Although I read somewhere that the wedding would air on August 16th, which is ages away!! They're not splitting it into 2 eps are they?? I hope they don't add some repeats in before the wedding, or anything like that!!

Mmmm. Nice! Thoroughly enjoyable, as usual. I just wish this season didn't have to end, I'm savouring it soooo much.

I really liked almost all of this episode. The opening scene with Max and Niles ("you're on the wrong side"), the whole hysteria/fight over the Pre-Nup, Val with 'intelligence' then losing it completely, Fran the Nun - Laughter and tears all the way. The adoption scene was tastefully done - not overdone. In fact, even though I don't really like Whoopie, her part in the argument continuing into the photographer's studio was good, too. "Is she your daughter? Is she over 30?" And Max's reaction to kissing Fran in the Nun Habit was a real hoot! Even the fake CC was OK. The only thing I didn't like was when Max finally showed himself at the hospital none of the kids said anything - not "Hi Dad" or such. Maggie and/or Grace could have run to him - something. They just stepped back. It sort of didn't gel with Max's comments later about how Fran made them a family again. Otherwise, if possible, a 9.5+ all around.

I just loved this week's show. Fran is really returning to that "loving nanny" that we remember from the first 3 seasons which is a very nice change. I just loved how she went all out to see Brighton. I loved Whoopi Goldberg but also that she didn't dominate the episode, which is usually what happens when a major guest appears. It's good to see Fran and Max fight and then be able to resolve it, and the adoption papers were a nice touch. It was also interesting to see Val making sense. Since the engagement it's all been up-hill and I've seen the wedding, so I can tell you it just gets better!

Not bad. I loved the CC substitute. Great to see the kids do something subtantial.

Ok... I didn't really like the side of Max that they portrayed in this episode; really cold and rather out of character from what we had seen. The replacement CC's interaction with Niles was very funny! Great acting from the whole cast.

I thought this show was OK, but I've seen better. Max was waay too nasty about the whole Pre-nup thing. He shoulda respected Fran, and ripped the stupid thing up in the first 5 minutes!!. The ending was sweet, but if Frans gonna adopt the kids, maybe we should see a bit more of them in the future.
Also, congrats on a fabulous site. Its great to see an overseas site putting up Aussie info. Keep up the good work!! [webmaster's note: Gee thanks! But I couldn't do it without all of you contributing!]

"You'll buy anything at a sale, won't you?"
LOL!! I read somewhere that the wedding won't air till Aug 16th or something...is this true??
[webmaster's note: I have no idea. if somebody has seen something official, let me know. The bright side is that if you DO have to wait that long, at least it stretches out the season a few more weeks. February is a looong time away.]
