6.5 Maggie's Boyfriend

October 28, 1998

When Maggie's new boyfriend, an underwear model, visits the Sheffield house for dinner, Fran finds the young man charming while Maxwell disapproves of him. At first Maxwell is determined to break up Maggie's new relationship, until Fran convinces him that as mature parents, they should be supportive of Maggie's life decisions. Fran's advice seems to be sound -- until Maggie announces that she and Michael want to live together. Written by Rick Shaw. Michael: Andrew Levitas, Trick or Treaters: Alex Sternin and Wilder Shaw

Our responses (69) gave the episode a 8.2 overall, a 8.3 for the comedy, and a 7.6 for romance.

All right, I *loved* this episode! I hadn't laughed so hard in a long time! Maggies boyfriend? To die for! Great casting job. =) And then the romance was there, with the passion I missed last week. I'd have to say this is maybe my fave yet! Yes, GREAT episode, thanks Rick Shaw!!!

This was the best show of the season so far. The dinner was great. It was so nice seeing them use the dining room again. Fran was typical Fran and Max was typical stoggy Max. I guess that is what made this ep so good, everyone seemed more in character than in recent eps. Also the pace seemed right. IT wasn't choppy. It was well written, well "paced" (for lack of a better word), and well acted. I wish Niles and CC would have interacted. THough the CC having plastic surgery was good. when she came in with the half paralyzed face, I was LMAO. The chase was excellent. THis ep shows that Fran and Max don't have to suck face or be half naked to have a good show (though seeing Micheal half naked didn't hurt). Overall a great show.

When this ep started I had feelings of dread. I thought "Okay here we go another bad hair day for Charles and another fight scene." Not the tenderness of last week, and not the LOL of the week before. Well, Charles' hair got better and so did the show. I'm glad that they are showing their differences and disagreeing but ultimately coming together (in more ways than one) as a husband and wife. I laughed with the Haagen Daz comment, Yetta's proclimation ("You bastards!" I thought I would roll off the couch), the Niles running gag, and the maturation of Maggie, Fran, and Sylvia's characters. The after the night before talk from Max was sweet but not cloying. CC was not running after him nor was she pathetic. Brighton and Gracie were both utilized in excellent form. The situations were more realistic, not cartoonish. It's amazing how the characters have grown in the past three weeks.(And obviously Fran's will alot more very soon!) No cheap guest star shots, no stereotypic jokes (the guilt bit---It doesn't work on a shiksa, and It won't work on me, I'm British) with the Star Wars "force" bit was very funny (I'm Jewish it works on me!) Overall, a slow start, but an excellent conclusion. Like a good cigar....more satisfying as you continue on. Kudos to all. A warm growing ensemble show.

Not as good as last weeks. I liked that they're was more romance between Fran and Max. Not too crazy about the chase scene. They did fight but now they're teaming up together and putting it to good use. I really don't see what's wrong with a 20 year old moving out of the house-even if she moves in with her boyfriend. Niles is being made more pathetic every episode. Is he ready for a breakdown? Not funny. Lauren had what, maybe three lines in the whole episode. She and Daniel were never in the same room and they were deeply missed.

Well paced for the most part. I thought comedy level was high on a "touchy" subject ( no pun intended ;-). My only gripe was Yetta's one obvious undeeded expletive. And please let's have Lauren dooo something. Sylvia's over indulgence was fine with the Halloween theme present, and her "guilt lesson" a classic. I rate it a 7.

great show; just loved it!!

I loved it! The look on Charlie's face when he said, "I can't believe that worked." was priceless!!

This one was a split decision for me. I liked Act I alot - LOLed all the way through. The chase was a riot and I enjoyed Max and Fran sparring. Then Act II came along and it nose-dived. Too much with Sylvia and the candy... again (it's lame, not funny, and indicative of lazy writing). The last scene with Max and Fran teaming up was cute - I only caught on right after the door closed. BUT, they missed the perfect opportunity for a hilarious tag scene. By setting up Niles to be jealous of Michael throughout the ENTIRE show, they should have had him secretly posing in his undies in his room! They just dropped that entire thread! And zero Niles/CC was an obvious negative factor as well. I enjoyed Fran, Maggie, and Max in this one, but think it could've been much better. 6/10

I haven't laughed this hard in ages! Liked pretty much everything about this one: Continuity, humor, topic, balance, all the classic lines, you name it. Great job!

Well, let's see. Where to start? The Max-chasing-Fran scene was ROTFL! Ah, yes, back to the good ol' days for that one! And Yetta: "You bast**ds!" God, I was dying! All I can say is: poor Niles. I really wanted to "awwwww" every time he spoke, poor guy. I also thought the dinner scene with the "did you just kick me" and "ow!" and all that between Max and Fran was LOL. It was really hilarious how they put on that act to get Maggie to move back home. What a great performance! And I'm still giggling about Ms. Bouvier!! The one thing I don't like is how Max and Fran seem to always be fighting since getting married, and how every time they do fight she goes running home to Mommy. Yes, Sylvia is hilarious and those scenes make for great comedy, but it surprises me how utterly dependent she's become on her mother that she goes running home every time they have a tiff. I think Fran's a stronger woman than that. If anything, I think she'd be talking to Niles as well and not just Sylvia. After all, over the past five years, it's been Niles who's helped her out of her "situations" with Max a great many times, so you'd think she'd go to him for help now and then with these after-marriage fights. Anyway, stop with the fighting already. (I thought my husband and I were the only ones who fought constantly like that!) :-) Other than that, keep the great scripts comin'!

A well deserved 9 from three Canadians ! ( Me & the 2 Mounties). The guys thought Fran was great this week. Both noted that it was nice to see her character looking intelligent & in control throughout the episode ( "good leadership" was another comment - a quality which is a plus to the Mounties they emphasize). They particularly liked that Max went along with Fran's plan & better still - it worked out beautifully . Finally, they thought that all the characters seemed very well defined & real this week - ( & as usual they think Fran still looks great).
I thought the writing was very strong & the chopped up feeling from last week was gone - the story was interesting & entertaining & the whole show flowed smoothly. I laughed heartily throughout the entire thing. All the actors were excellent - Love the subtle but dead on facial expressions Charles ! They conveyed so much more to the viewers. ( The use of the word "generous" by Max has now taken on an entirely new & amusing meaning for us :-)
Fran was as perfect as I've seen her, displaying a beautiful combination of physical comedy & skillful acting. Well done to everyone - this will rank amoung the favourite episodes for this trio of Canadian friends & fans. Thanks !

I actually thought that this episode was pretty good! Maxwell was a riot! From his "fat, old & spooky" comments through " Michael, do you have anything to fall back on, when your rear end is no longer supporting you?" to the chase scene & his expression at the end when he said, "I can't believe that actually worked!" I was rolling! The only thing I was a little unhappy with was the unfinished feeling of the Niles storyline and the huge push of Sylvia's eating. The rest was top-notch, IMO, well-written as well as well performed.

I thought this episode was the best one to date this season. Great writing, Laughed so hard throughout the episode. Loved the Fran and Max banters throughout the episode. I missed Niles and CC though. I'm a Fran and Max fan but admit Niles and CC make the episode. What's up? Sylvia could have been used better. All in all, I loved the episode. Use Niles and CC more please!!! 9/10

This show was better than the past few, lots of laughs! The bit with C.C.'s face was great, but a missed chance for some great stuff from Niles! I loved Max cracking up over it.The chase scene was classic Nanny!

I am absolutely furious!! Both of our CBS affiliates PRE-EMPTED this show for some political report!! I'm glad everyone seemed to enjoy it. Hopefully I can catch the rerun.

I loved it! At first it seemed a little slow but the end scene with Max and Fran teaming up was worth it all. And Yetta's "You Bastards!" was the funniest ever, and Frans 'im sorry' look on her face after. That was the best part of it all!!! 9/10

The best this season so far. I was LOL at the Fran, Sylvia, and Yetta scene. I hope the rest of the season is as funny as this one was.

Michael is a great looking boy, and the show is very, very funny

Every aspect of the show I have always enjoyed was in this ep. Fran and Max were back too their old selves. Niles was sooooo good, poor baby. Maggie has finally gotton a life. Gracie is as percious as ever (How do you become an underware model). Brigton bits back with being "dull". I may be in the minority but I love the chase scene, shades of the earlier eps... As far as I am concerned it just keeps getting better and better.

This will definitely be one of my favorite episodes!! Loved Maxwell in the leather jacket!!

I LOVED this one...It had everything I wanted...but doesn't anyone notice how Niles does not refer to Fran in name(well there once when he was talking to Sarah's parents last week) but when are having a conversation he dosen't call her (not Fran,or Mrs. Sheffield). Maybe just know yet to go with that yet...Anyway, another thing is what ever happen to the show that had Fran and Max on the Newly-Wed Game show...I saw clips of that before I saw clips of the premiere...maybe it will come up soon or they just decided not to use it...Just wondering.....[webmaster's note: The Newlywed Game stuff was just for ads before the season started, it never was intended for use in an episode.] Anyway I gave this week's episode straight 8's. I can not wait to next's weeks and the rest of the episode's to come..*MDR*

This episode was a 7 for me. As someone said, the chase scene was a nanny classic. Max and Fran working together to fool Maggie was wonderful, but...I would like to see some passion between them like a long, lingering kiss, sweet conversation, etc. (not so much arguing). I heard Fran on a talk show before the season started that they would spend the first half of the season acting like newlyweds and the second half learning to be parents. Well, we're still waiting. The success of this show is the relationship (love] between Fran & Max and the relationship [love/hate] between Niles & C.C. Everything else is just fun. Let's keep it going writers! Sounds like the next 3 shows will be great, but I'm worried about the ratings. Let's keep our fingers crossed that TN will at least last through this season!

Above average in the romance angle. I don't feel the comedy aspect was right though. Yetta gets great lines anymore. She is hilarious! I liked that CC wasn't on her "I want him" routine again. I'm a little disappointed by the lack of any Niles/CC action, especially after last week. The kids are being used more effectively. Just add more N/CC, and I'll be a very happy camper.

I enjoyed this episode! Max and Fran are just like they used to be. The chase scenes may be a waste of airtime for some...but to me they are too funny. M & F are always fighting like this, they exasperate each other! As long as the writers quit using the word DIVORCE! Of course Max use to fire Fran nearly every week s9o I guess this isnt all that different from the way things were. Grace's comment "so Michael howd ya become an underpants modle?" was LOL terrific, and Frans reaction to Michael yiddish...**grabbing chest, hugging Maggie...."Oh my God my daughters going to marry a jewish underwear modle...all my dreams have come true" I was on the floor! I like the way they have transferd Fran's former insatiable attraction to men to Fran helping Maggie & the Kids in there love life. Sylvia passing on the "power" was perfect, and shows us further how they can transition into Fran and Max truely being "parents" together. Max's "I can't believe that worked" line etc.... My biggest complaint however was all the missed opportunitys for Niles and CC to spar! Both charactors were underused this episode but still a delight to watch! I hope to see MUCH MORE OF THOSE TWO!!!!!

I LOVED it! I agree with most here...we need more Niles/CC interaction! PLEASE!! All in all, I'm loving the show! Niles was sooo cute! I just wanted to give him a big hug, didn't you? Can't wait til next week!

I gave this ep a 7 because it was okay, but it could have been better. I loved Yetta in this ep though. ( She just keeps getting better and better! ) I almost died at the Haagen Daz comment but I do have have one major complaint.... WHAT HAPPENED TO ALL THE NILES AND C.C. BANTER? That's what kept me watching in the 5th season and hopefully, it can make the best even better! I have to give the writers props for using the kids in this season. They must have read our wish list! Other than that a pretty good show!

Romance abounds with another winner! We get to see a little spice with Max and Fran (fun with ice cream) and now finally Maggie gets a life. Great interaction with all the kids again. Maggie dating caused Max to go through the roof as we expected, but it is great to see how much Fran had changed him. He is more tolerant, less apt to jump to conclusions.. But hearing about Maggie from CC caused a great chase scene that was classic! I wanted Fran to try to tell Max in the bedroom, but have him be so distracted by HagenDaz that he would not listen...anyway, Max kicking Fran, Sylvia's guilt scene, Max and Fran teaming up like they did, were all great! Max never would have done this before Fran.
Niles was little too sad and never even said anything to CC. Basically I needed a real zinger to give this a great comedy rating, everhthing was a bit too predictable. Now Brighton trying to get a girl to move into the mansion with him to get attention away from maggie might have been something outrageous enough to do it..But overall , another great show!
Again CBS, why can I never see a preview of TN? You advertise your Monday lineup like it is the only thing you have...shame on you, Promote the best comedy you have..THE NANNY!!

Great show. Loved Gracie's Halloween costume. The comedy was great, but I agree that there needs to be more Niles/CC banter. Those two have me rolling in the aisles in some of the older eps. Max's "I can't believe that actually worked" and Yetta's "You Bastards!" was hilarious. I also enjoyed Fran's comment about the fat, old spooky wife and looking to the parents to see how your mate will turn out "who's sorry now". My only complaint was that green hat with the feather, what the heck was that all about? It was nice to see Fran and Max working as a team, too bad Niles interrupted them in the apartment. Looking forward to more shows like this one.

I thought it was one of the funniest Nanny episodes I've seen! The cast is extremely talented and they should keep up the good laughs.

I loved this episode because it was very romantic, yet Fran and Max's fight scenes made me laugh.

Definitely a strong episode, except for the minimal parts for Niles and C.C. I guess it's hard to accomplish all the goals we as fans might have for the series and the characters in only 22 minutes an episode. I think I'm getting used to the bickering style of the newlyweds, perhaps not that surprising given the fact that the whole show has been premised on their different ideas and ways of doing things. At least with this episode, we were shown that the underlying love for each other is there too. I have to confess that I didn't tumble to the fact that Fran and Maxwell had set up Maggie and that their quarrel in Michael's apartment was staged to get Maggie to move back home. I really liked the way that scene was timed-- and the result showing Fran and Maxwell working together in what they saw as the best interests of the family. (Can't blame Maggie, though, for her attraction to Michael.) I was disappointed that the tag scene was reduced to a joke about candy between Sylvia and Grace-- the time would have been much better used for a Niles-C.C. interaction. All in all, a good episode, obviously setting up the November plot lines. Wish the ratings would respond more positively.

eh. . .it was OK. Niles was kinda cute with what he was doing, and Maggie's boyfriend was kind of cute too

Much better! Loved the end where they setup Maggie and to guilt her into going home. Very funny. Priceless look on Max's face when he said "I can't believe that worked". Good acting all round Back to the good old days with Max chasing Fran around. 9/10

I loved the part when Fran talked Maggie into coming home, and then Max walked in and she was like "Told you I could do it!"

me gusta mucho ver the Nanny

I liked this episode much better than last week's: it was really, really funny. Michael was very good, but am I the only one that is a bit sick of the formulaic "Fran-and-Max-have-a-fight-and-she-runs-to-Sylvia" routine? Besides that, I loved it! Can't wait for next week's!!!

Another good one. Michael is a 'hunk' (but he's not Charlie, is he?) Loved the 2nd story of Niles and his frustration with being a butler. Loved the Fran and Max "I can't believe they fell for it" scene. What can I say, I loved it all!

Another great episode - i loved it. Especially Max chasing Fran around the house and Nile's reaction to Jeff's success. The Maggie moving out thing was dealt with successfully - i can't wait till next week. Oh, and i can't forget Max's look when Fran said that she would get the Haagen Daaz!

I SO love this ep.!!!!!!
As I am of Maggie's age I can imagine how it is to bring your boyfriend home to your parents. This was so funny! Max was really "Max" endearingly concervative, Fran was very supportive and mature about it all!! I love the fight Fran and Max had......"Why do you always walk out in the middle of the argument when it's my turn to speak? ...BECAUSE I DON'T WANNA HEAR YOU!!!" LOL! Are they sounding like a married couple or what??? And then teaming up together......GREAT!!! Niles was extremely funny as always..... To summorize my babbling: I LOVED IT!!! BTW. Michael looks good, but I agree with one of the previous statements: He is no Charlie!!!!

I thought this weeks was excellent! I just loved the bit at the dinner table with Max kicking Fran! and the chase was just classic! When Fran and Max got together to get Maggie to come home it was just great, I loved the look on Max's face when it worked!. All in all a great ep, very well acted.

I thought it was ok but it is still not as good as the orginals. I didn't see the first ten min as i didn't have a clock in the room and lost track of the time.

Loved that ep! Always great! They all very good!

i love the nanny show!! i´m from argentina : i´want a spanish site ..pleaseee!!!!
[webmaster's note: Check out the "Other Links" page, there are several Spanish Nanny sites out there!]

6.6 I'm Pregnant

November 4, 1998

Meanwhile, after C.C. tricks Niles into buying her broken-down car, he plots revenge. Written by Ivan Menchell. Michael: Andrew Levitas, Dr. Reynolds: Nora Dunn, Nurse: Roz Kern, Car Buyer: Steve Posner.

Our responses (88) gave the episode a 9.1 overall, a 9.1 for the comedy, and a 8.4 for romance.

All I can say is this is one of the best shows of the season so far and I cannot wait til next week! And the week after too, this is really going to be the best season they've ever had.

This ep was wonderful. The categories really don't fit as it was more bittersweet than actually ROTFL funny. I missed the opening tease due to Tropical Storm Mitch bulletin but from what I saw Max and Fran were wondrful.Their marriage ,in the beginning, solid as a rock. Fran with Maggie was great, concern, motherly advice, and Frannerisms. CC and Niles were back to their old selves- a welcome back was sorely needed. Yetta was ,as usual, great, the tag scene with her and Gracie made me well up with tears- reminded me of my little Jewish grandmother- may she rest in peace. But that wasn't the only part that made me misty. When Max made those little incocuous comments about a baby at the end and Fran's reaction- broke my heart. In this ep- Fran has proven she can really act when needed. I gave the ep a 9 but lower in the categories, as I have said before, the writing and the cast and ensemble have greatly matured over this season. I relish each episode more than the last. THe Nanny is proving itself to grow into one of the greats (As we have all known for a long time) Mazel Tov Fran et al. Another classic!

OH MY G-D! This had to be one of the best! I've died and gone to heaven. here it is 9:00 and I still have a smile on my face! I just loved the whole thing! But the moment in the begining with C.C singing POP EYE was priceless! And thank god, she wasn't chasing after Maxwell. 10/10 for me!

All right I LOVED this episode!! Excellent everything! I'm still laughing from the Popeye bit, and I'm still feeling bad for Fran. Everything was great, I've no complaints. I'm also dying to see how they handle it next ep!!!

The best so far. And that is saying a lot. Everyone of the main characters were really involved with the story line. You had not only your comedy but the nice touch of drama at the end.

Like Sarah's Parents, this was an excellent ep, but, different somehow. To start with the positives (and there were several), Yetta was a hoot I don't think I have ever laughed so hard at her before, the passing the pregnancy test was great (and so was the kiss), Fran did some great acting (I actually almost cried at the end), and WELCOME BACK NILES AND CC. I guess the thing that made it different was the fact that Maggie, Fran, and Max were dealing with a serious issue, and the other characters were providing all the comic relief. It worked, but it just felt different. THe season seems to be getting better and better through each ep. I can't wait to see next week.

This ep was really good--much better than what we've seen in the earlier episodes of this season. It had it all--> Niles/.C.C., Fran/Max, the kids, fewer Sylvia eating jokes, etc. The only thing that gets me is the fact that Maggie has aged 3 years in the past 5 months, but I guess that was to make the storyline a little easier to stomach...but now that she's 21, doesn't that make her a junior in college- she needs to get her own place at that age anyway.

This is an easy one to review: wonderful! There are several reasons why: 1. a nearly perfect script -- yay Ivan! 2. No VIP stars -- just a great/talented guest. 3. Excellent direction once again (how funny was the spy spoof? LOL!) -- yay Peter! 4. Every single actor was well-written for and perfectly in character. Let's let Ivan write the rest of the season ;-) 5. Fabulous Niles/CC stuff 6. As always, the BEST cast in sitcom-dom. 9/10 and had this been the end of the season, I woulda sprung for the 10 :-)

I totally loved this episode! Finally, Niles and CC are back on track...the banter, the sexual tension, EVERYTHING! The ending, when Fran tries to tell Max about her pregnancy, was a little sad, but we'll see how it goes next week. I'm on Cloud 9! Hoo-hah!!!

FANTASTIC! One of the best episodes ever, IMHO! Even though they were dealing with a very serious issue, they handled it just right & we got all the elements that make this show great! Classic interaction between Niles & CC, ROTFLOL comedy & one HOT lookin' kiss! :-) If this is a sample of things to come, I will be one happy camper! Congrats to everyone! The writing, acting & directing were superb!

Okay, where to start...hmmm...oh, that's right: YES YES YES YES YES YES YES Did I put enough YES's? I think so. After seeing this ep, I'm asking for a cigarette. Whew! Perfect, beautiful, marvelous, hilarious, the BEST acting, the BEST everything! First of all, THEY LISTENED TO US!!!! We've been asking, begging, pleading for more Niles and C.C. and guess what? Ask and ye shall receive. WE GOT IT!!! I doubt anyone needs any more proof than this that the fans DO make a BIG difference. Yeah, it may take a while, but they finally listened and now, to quote C.C., "all is right with the world!". I couldn't possibly write down everything I loved, because I don't think a second passed that I *didn't* love. Suffice it to say that this was a "10" and I only pray that they keep this up, because THIS is what "The Nanny" was all about to begin with. Hello, hello! They're BACK!

Niles and C.C. are the best together. I think the show should keep up the good work like they did with them in this episode

Where to start? I really liked this one....from the loving/maturing relationship between Fran and Max as well as Fran and the kids to the Niles / CC "popeye the sailor man" bit to the Max / Sylvia "that's a shocker" comment!
On the other hand, there's a few things I didn't like so much, like the inconsistency in Maggie's age (what is this...a soap opera where one character ages while the others stay the same?), to CC's car (wasn't it just one or two seasons ago when she "bought" Niles' services at an auction and when she said he was to change the oil in her car, he said she didn't have one, to which she responded she had rented one!)...I also thought there could be more sensitivity to the first time Brighton called Fran "Mom"....
OK...enough "nit picking"...the look on Max's face after "Secret Agent Fran" kissed him was to die for, and the look on Fran's face when she realized Max was not as excited as she was heartbreaking.... am looking forward to the next couple of eps to see how this evolves.

I enjoyed this episode, some good laughs, and the way Fran and Maggie worked out Maggie's possible pregnancy showed their friendship and support for each other well. It was great to have Niles and C.C. mixing it up again. He seemed rather delighted to help her with some of her workout routine (!) I don't think he has ever acted so interested in her physically before. It was too bad that the show had to end on such a sad note. Fran was really back to being Miss Fine this episode. Of course it worked well to have her say nothing about being pregnant so there could be a "to be continued" episode. But it really was too sad. It was so much like the time she almost ran off with Nigel, but couldn't tell Max anything about it. Oh well, I'm sure next week everything will turn out great--Max better be really ecstatic and treat Fran like a Queen to redeem this weeks ending. I'm really liking Maggies clothes this year, Fran's are sometimes too clown-like with the big prints and the hats. Max's hair is looking better, and Britton usually has a LOL line. Loved the Gynocologist office!! Oh that it could be that way in real life!

SIMPLY FANTASTIC! Not only the best episode of this season, but the best in recent memory, and will go down as one of my favorites of all-time. Superbly written, directed and performed! This one just had it all....took me from ROTFL (too many truly classic "Nanny moments" to list) to an agonizing "Oh Gawd!" at the end. (Thank you, Ivan Menchell!) What a great sweeps episode -- absolutely left me craving more! I can't wait for Max to find out about little Shlomo!

Very uneven episode- The CC and Niles exchanges were a riot- the best part of the episode.Nora Dunn as the gynecologist was also very good-She's always been a great character actress. Fran and Maggie chasing each other around the house (Fran in trenchcoat) was kind of pathetic and not very funny. Overall, the writing was quite inconsistent-either clever and witty or trite and unoriginal. Since CC, Niles and Sylvia are truly the funniest parts of the show, they should have more episodes in which they are featured more prominently.

This show was one of the best this season so far The acting by all cast and crew was excellent the comedy especially between Niles and CC was hilarious and the pregnacy situation with Maggie was handeled in a very meaningful and dignified way.I did feel sorry for Fran at the end though she seemed so excited about her pregnancy hopefully things will work out.All in all a great episode!

YES! 10's across the board. Finally Niles and CC seemed to have the old magic back, but PLEASE don't stop at that one show. Keep those two in the picture throughout the season. The phone conversation was hilarious and the Popeye thing brought back great memories. CC hasn't been whining after Max (that's two whole eps now!). She is back and getting back at Niles more and more. Everyone was worked in so well. Fran was really great and the ending was the most touching I've seen in any sitcom in a long time. I sense more great stuff ahead and I can't wait for the next ep. Keep it up guys!

First of all - if I were an Emmy voter - I would hand one to Fran Drescher for the last night's final scene with Charles - it made me want to yell at "Max" through the TV: "don't you realize what you've just said to her!"- or to quote Niles from a past episode "oh you stupid fool!" Don't pass up scripts for dramatic roles next summer Fran - you were great! ( Take that Helen Hunt!)
The whole show was excellent. Nora Dunn was perfect & hilarious as the doctor - love the unusual cookies & the chimes. Although I'm foremost a "Fran & Max" fan - CC & Niles were really funny this week - I liked seeing the return of their old "sneakiness". The kids were great & Yetta was quite sweet.
Keep up the terrific work cast , crew & writers !

Wow!!! This was my favorite episode so far! It had everything! Fran & Max...what a kiss! Michael is a great casting choice, Yetta is a dream (gracie & Yetta...how sweet!) Nora Dunn was an excellent choice for the OB/GYN! She was hilarious!!
But my all time fav was Niles & CC!! They were in character, Very funny, great biting comments, funny schemes on both sides, and woohoo...they were hot! When Niles thought CC was talking about being her workout coach...the sparks were flying!!! Those two are sooo goood!!!!! It's good to see them getting the best of each other...not just on one side!

The show was such a letdown! There was so much potential, but it was unrealistic and annoying. They didn't use Brighton and Gracie to their advantage, and left a great piece with Brighton hanging in mid-air. He called Fran "mom!" Shouldn't that be explored! I was almost crying, I couldn't believe it!

Wow! What a great episode. They handled a sensitive subject very well and managed to make it the funniest episode so far this season, IMO. The Niles/C.C. scenes had me rolling on the floor and the "That's a shocker!" comment from Max--too funny! Great use of all the kids. I think the last scene between Fran and Max demonstrates what a great actress Fran is--it brought tears to my eyes. Great job everyone!

I LOVED it. I'm not sure how I'm going to last for 2 more weeks until Fran finally tells Maxwell...all I can say is that he had better react in such a way as to MORE than make up for his comments this week! I was in tears for poor Fran at the end. I really liked the way Maggie enlisted Fran's support in dealing with her (possible) pregnancy -- a message to all young women AND their parents that love and support is what is needed most at a time like this. It was wonderful to see Niles and CC back at their old tricks (although I must confess that CC "clucking like a chicken" edges out Popeye in my book!) as well as a few good ones from Yetta ("Nice rug!"). I'm a very happy Nanny fan this week!

Wonderful show. Well acted, directed, and written. Fran was in top form as was the rest of the cast. I would have rated higher but it's like figure skating you have to hold something back. And for my two cents.....There was a little Fine, Who had a litte whine, and everyone liked to complain. That once she was married, the show would be harried and none of the viewers remain. Well this week was tops, It knocked off my socks and I'm stating here once and for all. This Nanny is tops and pulling all stops as a sitcom that really stands tall. Sorry I think I'm losing it here but it's nice to have everyone happy. Now if I could just have five minutes with CBS...! Definite 8, 8.5!

I'm Pregenant was one of the better Nanny episodes! It had great romance , comedy and everything else to make a great show! I LOVED IT!!!!

THE BEST EP SO FAR!!!!!! This one was so great, I laughed, I cried, I loved it, loved it, loved it!!!!! The end scene was heartbreaking, and best of all.... Niles and CC are back!!!! Great job everyone, hope to see more like this.

Wonderful!! I really enjoy touching moments in a comedy once in a while. But it will be hard to wait 2 weeks before Fran tells Maxwell about her pregnancy!! It's almost like waiting 3 months after the Season Finale's cliffhanger!!

this was a wonderful episode. I was happy to see Niles and CC back in top form. This is the kind of material they should be getting each week. The writers seem to be following obsessive fan requests (I'm included) and structuring scripts with the entire ensemble. It would be nice to see more of Gracie and Brighton with their own plotlines soon. This show had its share of laughs(nice rug, niles teasing cc,the doctors office, nora dunn was a delight)but it was fran's bittersweet final moment that made the show. I could'nt hold back a tear. she is such a fine actress, it was reminiscent of the scene in a much earlier episode when she lets Max off the hook - "iknew you were just kidding about the propasal". Great job this week. still loving fran.

I'm one of those who wanted to delay the pregnancy story line, and even so I thought this episode was one of the best. It had everything-- the main story line with Maggie was treated intelligently, humorously and warmly and the running routine with Niles and C.C. was LOL and very well done. I for one thought the gynecology office scenes were hysterical-- every woman's dream or nightmare with the New Age doctor. The interactions between Fran and Maxwell had some real spark-- what a memorable kiss in the hall-- and their last scene when Max expresses his relief about the pregnancy scare had power and poignancy. I thought Fran showed her real acting ability in those moments. As I was watching, I was conscious of the fact that only Grace wasn't getting the air time she deserved-- and then we got the tag scene send off between Grace and Yetta. I thought it was charming and loving-- I really liked Madeline's hairstyle. This episode represents The Nanny at its highest quality-- congratulations to all involved for a great show. Please continue like this.!!!

This was fantastic, had everything. We got our Niles/CC banter back, Nora Dunn was a hoot as the Ob/Gyn and Yetta was her usual hilarious self. The end with Yetta and Gracie was touching, but the part that really got to me was the interaction between Fran & Max at the end. I felt so bad for her I almost cry every time I watch it. Here she is, pregnant with her own child that she's always wanted. She's all excited and he has to go and say that, "stupid fool!" I just can't wait to see Nile's reaction to the news, let alone Max's. This ought to bring on some really good Niles/CC banter remaniscant of "Strange Bedfellows". Can't wait till next week.

Overall, a really good episode. I was LMAO at the scenes of Niles/C.C.--I think they're getting back to where we all seem to want them. I even enjoyed the surreal, hiding-the-pregnancy-test scene, and I usually hate those segments! I thought the show was absolutely amazing, one of the best so far, and I only hope that storm warnings, news breaks, and the cable guy will stay away from my television next Wednesday night. That's going to be an episode I cannot miss! :)

Great episode! The end was so sad. Can't wait for next week. From reading the synopsis for next week, it looks like Fran tells Max. What then could she possibly be going to tell him that she interrupts him on Hollywood Sqares? Twins?

The best. Oh my god was I thrilled or what, loved the Niles/CC thing, great job. But this this weeks applause goes to fran oh my god, the last scene killed me. With this episode she could beat helen Hunt in a second. Loved it. 10 across the board.

It really was a great episode. I wish that the ending wasn't so sad, but hopefully next week will turn out better.

This show was THE BEST! I LOVED how outrageous, funny, and serious it was all at the same time. It really had zing! I even felt like one of my (modified) ideas was used, by having Niles answer a car ad for CC and her not know it was him...( I suggested a singles ad!) This is SO GREAT! Fran and everyone catching Maggie was a great beginning..and I laughed all the way through. Max reacted so realistically and the ending was a real jerker...wonderful comedy and emotion, use of guest stars (the doctor was hilarious and instrumental to the plot) and all the characters. This one will be a classic favorite! I am still laughing... Let's see MORE promotion by CBS for The Nanny!

That was an awesome episode. It was sooo sad at the end when Fran rushed in to tell Maxwell the good news after she had gotten back from the OBGY!!!! It tore my heart out!! Best episode yet!!

Great ep. I agree though, with the person who said it was a letdown when Fran blew off Brighton's "Hi mom" and turned it into nothing. I've been waiting forever for the kids to call her mom, then when it finally happens it's blown off. That was the only part that sucked. Everything else was great.

Well, what can I say? This episode was the best!! I was so pleased with the storyline. It had great comedy (Niles and CC!!!YES, Yetta was LOL with "nice rug"). I appreciated the way they delt with the sensitive topic of pregnancy. What a great model of love and suport (Fran and Maggie). Fran Drescher's scene at the end with Charles was the steal of the show. It was heartbreaking, very sad. She is a fine actress!! Everytime I watch it , that scene moves me. I can hardly wait for these next two episodes. With great writing and direction like this episode, "The Nanny" is sure to have a long, successful future. BRAVO! Love Ya Fran!!

This was a GREAT episode!!! (Having last week's pre-empted here made it even better). The Popeye the Sailor Man thing was hilarious as was the Secret Agent Fran bit! Yetta and Gracie at the end were so sweet, but I have to agree with a lot of other posts that Fran and Max at the end was a heartbreaker! To see her so excited and then deflate so fast- I'm sure though, if she told Max, he would be excited once he got used to the idea. Guess we'll have to wait and see. I agree too that everyone was well used and this was definitely one of the best episodes of the season!

Technically, I've already put in my $.02; initially, I thought the episode was absolutely wonderful and I guess in most respects that feeling holds true. But I started thinking about the moral implications of this episode, and how TN seems to be promoting/condoning pre-marital sex. I was happy with Max's comment that "if they love each other, they can wait" which was nullified by Fran's retort that their waiting five years was a sore spot with her. I thought it was admirable the way that, even after professing their love and getting engaged, Fran and Max still waited until after they were married to go to bed. Sure, it kept all of us in suspense for five years, but it was a good moral message in an age where there are so few of them on television. Now the creative forces behind TN seem to be contradicting what they've seemed to stand for. Having Michael and Maggie 'active' may allegedly mirror today's society of young people, but that is no reason to be so supportive of it. The opinion that two people should wait until after marriage may be old-fashioned (RE: Fran's 'Andy Griffith Show' comment), but I for one (and as a teenager) think that opinion is valid and good advice. Again, I'm just throwing my extra two cents in, and I hope I haven't offended anyone. I remain a huge fan of TN, but, well, I just wanted to express a few of my thoughts about where the show is going.

To address the premarital sex: I think TN is dealing with both sides of an issue (a lesson most other series' should take). They did show it was better to wait for marriage but they are also acknowledging that idealistic wishes don't always pan out. So, realistically, they are dealing with the issue as best they can. Maggie was still chagrined for her actions but now that the deed is a done deal it's best to address safety issues and possible consequences. They never condoned Maggie's actions, they just wanted to show how to deal with reality. I say Bravo for their efforts.

I LOVED this one..though I missed the beginning(like someone else had wrote) because TS Mitch...I was mad and throwing Starburst at the weatherman on tv....anyway, I really loved the whole show in total. Everyone was good in it. The Spy scene was funny(especialy the end with that kiss!) And the last scene was so sad...I was really going to cry...
And about the person that said about Brighton calling Fran 'Mom'...I don't don't think she brushed it off...she was nervous that Maggie might be pregnant and she didn't want else to find out...but this episode was one of favorites...and I can't wait for next week...or the week after that...

I agree with the person who wrote about them promoting pre-marital sex, but I don't believe they were being supportive of it. Halfway through the episode Maggie knew she had made a mistake, and even admitted Dad was right. Fran was helpful and seemed supportive, but at the end she told Maggie "there are some consequences you just aren't ready for." That's how they left it, and I think they wrapped it up well. (Also, the "sore spot" bit wasn't that bad, it was just a joke. I think Fran didn't mean it, she was just trying to loosen Max's tension.)

Kudos to the writters on this one. Thanks! It's great to have Niles and C.C. back in 'trademark' form. Let's keep them on this track, and full steam ahead.

Being a teen myself, I loved how the show analyzed premarital sex. I thought it equally expressed liberal and conservative views of premarital sex. Maggie's "thought to be" pregnancy was the best way to wiegh out both sides of the argument and create a wider plot.

I loved this episode! The funniest part was when Fran and Maggie were talking, and Fran said to Maggie "Sweetie, next time LOCK THE DOOR!" It was really sad at the end when Max said he didn't want a baby though. I really think Max should have shut up and let Fran tell him her news first. At first I thought it was really insensitive but then I realised two things.
1) Max didn't know that Fran was pregnant
2) It has to be like that, otherwise the ratings wouldn't have been as high!
Even though there was all that stuff, I gave the show straight tens!

Another great episode. I loved every minute. Maggie's pregnancy scare was dealt with fairly well, but my favourite part must be the scene where Maggie and Fran are trying to get to the bathroom to take the test...and that kiss...I haven't seen one like that since season 3. Keep up the great work guys :-)

I really, really liked this one! Fran's/Max's reactions to Maggie's possible pregnancy were very funny, and Niles and C.C. were great in sniping at each other again, I was laughing out loud! A very cute episode...I loved it! :)

Another good one. I really can't work out why this series hasn't been as successful this year - both here and in the US. Almost all the episodes have had all the right elements - comedy, romance and just plain fun. They also, in places, have had the depth that has been only occasionally seen in the past 2 seasons (think "I Don't Remember Mama", "Here Comes the Brood", etc.) Also loved the final scene with Fran and Max but thank goodness they did that tag with Yetta and Gracie to lighten the mood or I would have been sad all night!

Good ep - strongest storyline/plot this season IMHO.

I thought this one was great! I loved the bathroom scene, especially where Maggie tried to imitate Frans voice! A classic! The kiss was great too, haven't seen one that intense for a while. My favouite part however would have to be the end, it was so sad, I felt so sorry for Fran. I had tears of laughter through the whole ep, and tears of sadness at the end. All in all a terrific ep. definatley one of the best. Can't wait till' next weeks!

A really great episode. I felt a little sorry for Fran in the end. But I realy loved this one.

OY!!!! was this great or what???? We have another winner this season !!(How can CBS cancel this jewel?? Are the blind? Or just tasteless...well, the taste of money must make one immune for the divine things in life. Sorry got carried away) This had it all: great comedy and a very very sad end.I think the issue of Maggie having sex/thinking she was pregnant, was dealt with very well! The kiss was hot!!!! Max's face after that, LOL!And "nanny Fine is pregnant?" hahaha CC's face made me fall from the couch! All in all it was fantastic!! I will watch this over and over!!!!
