Fran is watching the soaps ... and drags C.C. into the storyline.
C.C.: So what's gonna happen, is she gonna get this guy or bash his British head in?

Maxwell asks C.C. what she's doing Saturday night, hoping they can get some work done.

In the mail is a letter from Lenny, Fran's pen pal that she has never met.
Max: Oh stop doing that. Whenever you get a letter from Lenny you make that ridiculous grin.

But Fran is dismayed to read that Lenny is coming to New York to visit and wants to meet her. She is afraid to meet him because she has kinda exaggerated about her life over the years in her letters.

Oh cheer up Flo Jo, silver goes with everything.

Houston, we have a problem.

Mr. Sheffield decides to take Fran to the meeting with Lenny at the Russian Tea Room himself.
Niles: Admit it Sir, you are dying to get a look at this Leonard fellow.

Fran still doesn't want to go.
Fran: Forget it. I'm not going.
Max: So Miss Fine, for the next 20 years I have to hear about this wonderful guy that you never met? You are going. I'm going to take you myself.

They arrive at the Russian Tea Room, and some guy (Peter Marc Jacobson in a cameo) tries to pick up Fran. So Mr. Sheffield sticks around to 'protect' her.

Meanwhile, back at the house, C.C. has arrived to "work."
C.C.: Maxwell darling, is that you?

Niles: Don't turn around.
C.C.: I'm yours!
[seductively] Tell me what you want me to do.

Niles: [thinking for a second] Cluck like a chicken.
C.C.: What?
Niles: It turns me on.

C.C.: Bwaa, brawck, brawck.... ahhhhhh!!
Niles: Mr. Sheffield's been delayed.... oh, did you think I was him?

Fran and Max have a great time while they wait for Lenny to show.
Fran: I was just thinking how nice it is to get out, you know, without the kids. Maybe it's time we thought about hiring someone to take ca.... oh.

Finally someone arrives wearing a red rose that is how Fran and Lenny are to recognize each other.

But it turns out to be someone with the band, and Fran decides not to wait any longer. As they are leaving, the Maitre d' hands her a note that the real Lenny has left.
Dear Fran,
This is my last letter. When I came in and saw you with that great looking guy, I knew I could never compete with him.

Back at the house, Niles and C.C. are tying one on. It doesn't take long for the insults to start flying.

But with unusual results this time.....

C.C.: I loathe you.
Niles: I despise you.
CC: Servant.
Niles: Trollop.
C.C.: Bell Boy.
Niles: Brunette.

They say goodnight...
C.C.: Swine.
Niles: Chicken.

Max: Miss Fine, how much have I had to drink this evening?
Fran: Not as much as them!

Max: I suppose when two people spend as much time around each other as those two something like this is bound to happen.
Fran: Yeah, I suppose it is inevit......
Max: Are you thinking what I'm thinking?

Fran: What are you thinking?
Max: I'm thinking about...... taking a shower and going to bed.
Fran: What a coincedence. I'm going to bed thinking about you taking a shower.
