Maxwell wants Brighton to get involved with a team sport instead of watching TV all the time.

Fran takes Brighton with her to Queens so he can go to the baseball batting cages, but that doesn't go real well.

Sylvia, Yetta and Fran need a fourth for a Canasta Tournament in Atlantic City. B shows a natural talent for the game.

Max is less than thrilled at the prospect of his son playing cards on a Canasta team called the "Flushing Queens".

The original fourth comes back to town--and Yetta and Sylvia would rather have Brighton play than Fran, so they kick Fran off and keep Brighton.

Max has to convince Fran to go to Atlantic City anyway, even if she isn't talking to her mother.

In Atlantic City, Fran meets Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gorme.

Brighton drops out of the tournament so that Fran will make up with her mother.

Just take those old records off the shelf.....
Poor sick Niles home alone while the family was in Atlantic City.

You realize of course, now I'm going to have to kill you.

[Brenda Cooper won the Emmy for Costuming for this episode, and Lee Shallet was nominated for "Individual Acheivement in Directing a Comedy Series." ]

Old Time Rock N Roll
(Bob Seeger)

Just take those old records off the shelf
I sit and listen to them by myself
Today's music ain't got the same soul
I like that old time rock 'n' roll.

Don't try to take me to a disco
You never even get me out on the floor
In ten minutes I'll be late for the door
I like that old time rock 'n' roll.

Still like that old time a- rock 'n' roll
That kind of music just soothes my soul
I reminisce about the days of old
With that old time rock 'n' roll, hey!
Won't go to hear them play a tango
I better hear some blues or funky old soul
There's only one sure way to get me to go
Start playing old time rock 'n' roll.

Call me a relic, call me what you will
Say I'm old fashion, say I'm over the hill
Today's music ain't got the same soul
I like that old time rock 'n' roll.

Still like that old time rock 'n' roll
That kind of music just soothes my soul
I reminisce about the days of old
With that old time rock 'n' roll, oh!
