Maggie wants to enter a kissing contest sponsored by Billy Ray Cyrus. The winner gets to be on his new album cover. |
Fran takes Maggie down to the contest. Maggie is concerned about the competition, so while Maggie is off kissing Billy, Fran gets rid of a few. Fran: Honey, you made the cut. Go to 1313 Mockingbird Lane. Ask for Lily or Herman. |
Maggie is thrilled by her kiss, and talks Fran into doing it too. |
But Fran won the contest instead of Maggie. I can't believe it. By tomorrow everybody at school is going to know that my nanny beat me out of a kissing contest. |
Mr. Sheffield didn't believe that Fran could have won, so she convinces him. Fran: I'm sorry I had to get tough with you, but you had to learn! |
Max doesn't want her to be on the the album cover, but Fran had already decided not to do it because it would crush Maggie. |
Fran goes down to tell Billy Ray that she can't be on the cover, but his manager lets it slip that they really wanted Fran because the teenagers made Billy Ray look old. |
The news sets Fran off into a major depression. Fran: Bottom line, you made him look old, and I made him look young. |
C.C. overhears and she can't wait to tell Maxwell, hoping that it will make her more appealing by putting Fran down. Max: Old? Oh, that's preposterous. I mean what is she? 29, 30? C.C.: Oh please, to what power? |
C.C.: Oh it is so pathetic, Nanny Fine thinking she could win a kissing contest. I mean kissing is an art, it has to be sensuous, deeply felt, and most of all, spontaneous. |
Niles: Was it as bad for you as it was for me? |
Mr. Sheffield goes up stairs to cheer up Fran. Why are you Americans so obsessed with youth? I prefer the more civilized European sensibility that people improve with age, like fine wine, especially a beautiful wine that's robust and earthy, yet sweet and strangely compelling. |
Fran: Oh Mr. Sheffield, you are so wonderful, here I was eating my heart out and then you come up and make me feel so much better. You are such a doll, I could just... Max: Just what Miss Fine? Fran: Kiss you. Max: Oh, well, far be it from me to refuse a token of gratitude from a lady. |
As Time Goes By
|
You must remember this A kiss is still a kiss A sigh is still (just) a sigh The fundamental things apply As time goes by And when two lovers woo They still say: "I love you" On that you can rely No matter what the future brings As time goes by |
Moonlight and love songs - never out of date Hearts full of passion - jealousy and hate Woman needs man - and man must have his mate That no one can deny It's still the same old story A fight for love and glory A case of do or die The world will always welcome lovers As time goes by |
